About

Daniel Sloss: HUBRIS'. The all-new and hilarious 11th solo show by Scotland’s international comedy star, hot on the heels of his ground-breaking, global smash-hit ‘Daniel Sloss: X’, comes to the USA. Pollstar’s June 2021 edition listed 'HUBRiS' as the 5th largest event of any genre, indoor or outdoor on the planet even as the global music festivals were opening up.

His previous incredible ‘X’ tour sold out across 40 countries, with 300 shows including over 30 European countries, UK, U.S., Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and even packing a Moscow arena (becoming Russia’s biggest-ever English language comedy show). The film of ‘X’ is showing on HBO in U.S. and Canada and became the first UK comedy special to make its UK premiere in cinemas, with its nationwide release at Vue.

Daniel’s previous two Netflix specials ‘DARK’ & ‘Jigsaw’ are streaming in 190 countries, 26 languages with the infamous ‘Jigsaw’ now credited with breaking up over 120,000 couples and cited in over 300 divorces world-wide (with fans even bringing their divorce papers for him to autograph at shows). He has sold out six New York solo off-Broadway seasons, appeared on U.S TV’s ‘Conan’ ten times, broken box office records in Edinburgh and toured in 54 countries to date and his book “EVERYONE YOU HATE IS GOING TO DIE And Other Comforting Thoughts on Family, Friends, Sex, Love, and More Things That Ruin Your Life” is published by Penguin Random House.

    Awesome all around

by Rachel E on 7/23/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

Great venue, great openers, and an absolutely amazing show by Daniel Sloss. I'll have to make sure I go every year he's in town!

    FANTASTIC

by Bri on 7/23/19Barrymore Theatre - Madison

The only reason I can't give it a 5/5 is because it was a billion degrees in the venue and I almost passed out twice from possible heatstroke combined with laughing so hard.

An Amazing Show, Despite the Heat

by Nikhil on 7/22/19Barrymore Theatre - Madison

What a powerful set! Daniel Sloss slated me again, and really delivered on his message for the #MeToo moment. The openers both had their strengths, though I thought that Kai was the stronger performer. Despite the lack of AC in the theater and problems with power that day, it was an excellent show.

    Hilarious, thought-provoking, INCREDIBLE

by Lefty Crumpet on 7/22/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

I thought he wouldn’t be able to top Jigsaw, but he did it. X is the most brilliant, thought provoking comedy special I have ever seen. Few comedians can get me to both balance on my tailbone, unable to stop laughing, and combine it with brilliant, powerful social commentary that motivates his entire audience to live their lives in a way that creates a better society. If everyone saw this show, the world would be a better place. Daniel Sloss deserves to be knighted. #sirsloss

    Brilliant and moving performance

by JohnR on 7/22/19Barrymore Theatre - Madison

Hilarious, and also thought-provoking and educational. Love the accent, his irreverence, the way he pushes limits (but clearly without being biggoted/racist/homophobic/...) -- awesome delivery and danged funny! A totally enjoyable evening despite the heat (with the power-cuts and A/C off). Perhaps the best comedy performance we've ever experienced.

    Daniel Sloss

by Lah on 7/22/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

Love Daniel, he's a funny guy who has the ability to talk about uncomfortable situations in a way that gets people to listen. I love that he uses his position to talk about touchy subjects. The openers were awesome as well. I however was not a big fan of the venue. There were way too many people at the show for the venue to accommodate and I think they should try to keep there seated events smaller.

    Brutally Great

by Mark on 7/21/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

Daniel is hilarious. His humor can be uncomfortable, but he approaches it so honestly and so brutally, it allows the audience to laugh, think, and feel. I really feel like he is the next generation of comedian: one who goes beyond laughter, and even making salient social/political points, to one who encourages an audience to look at themselves honestly in regard to his topics all while providing lots of laughs. Just brilliant. The two openers were wonderful, too. It's a rare treat to have a full slate of very funny people. And, as always, the Cedar Cultural Center is a fantastic, well-run venue. It was a treat to see such a huge, yet up-and-coming comedian in a relatively small venue.

    Awesome!

by Michelle on 7/20/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

Daniel Sloss is young and sassy, but hysterically funny. I was a little worried his show would be a repeat of his Netflix episodes, but it wasn’t - it was all new and may be even funnier than his earlier work. His opening acts were just as funny so it was 3 hours of straight laughter. It was a great night! The only draw back to the show was it was on a Wednesday night. it made getting up for work Thursday tough. Not sure I’ll do another middle of the week event like that again.

    Dark, Hilarious, Relatable

    by C. W. on 7/20/19Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

Daniel Sloss absolutely smashed his performance! He had such amazing stories with unexpected twists and loads of laughter while at the same time giving almost each joke a meaningful ending. He himself described it as giving us a load of dark awful jokes but wrapping it up into a TedTalk at the end and he certainly did that. His material is absolutely relatable for so many young people and he touched on some heavy subjects, but also gave us something to ponder after the show. Such a great performance, 20/10 would see him again!

    Unexpectedly Funny

by K. W. on 7/18/19Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Great time at the Palace of Fine Arts watching this very funny entertainer. Daniel Sloss was courteous of the audience's time and his opener set the stage very well for us to bellow with even more laughter.

    Absolutely fabulous

by Audrey on 7/15/19Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I had an amazing time at this event. I attended with my boyfriend and we could not stop laughing the entire night. Both Daniel and his opening act, Kai Humphries, had us in stitches. They bounced off of each other extremely well and had great rapport. All of Daniel's material was new and absolutely hilarious - probably better than the stuff from his Netflix shows! 10/10 would recommend.

    Sloss slays in SF

by Dusty Ballz on 7/15/19Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Daniel Sloss gave a comedic performance that ranks with the greatest acts to play the Palace. He is quick, insighjtful, daring, thoughtful, edgy and just plain funny. His act moves quickly through his darkly loony worldview taking the audience on a wild ride.A MUST SEE

    Amazing show!

by Kels on 7/15/19Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Daniel and Kai put on an amazing performance, it’s one thing to watch his Netflix specials but being there in person has a more personal feeling. Made the show to me feel more special. Daniel and Kai both have an amazing stage presence, charming and dangerously funny! After the show by the stage door they greeted the fans that stuck around and were nothing but humble and very kind. Taking pictures and conversing with anyone that stopped to talk. Amazing guys will be seeing the next show that’s around my area!!

    Amazing layout

This was such a well played and thought out stand up routine. Wouldn’t change anything, cried for two parts of the show one being from laughter. Many snaps

    Hilarious Comedy

by Sue G on 7/13/19Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

It felt like Daniel Sloss was just having a conversation directly with a few of his close friends. It was really hilarious all the way through, even when he gets to his "Ted Talk" portion and makes poignant points. Can't wait to see him more. Venue convenient to get to, just getting a bit old. Great night!

    A Must See

by S. D. on 7/13/19Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

I knew he was going to be funny and he was, overwhelmingly so, but damn was his set incredibly profound, too. As I left the show, it began to dawn on me that this set (hopefully it becomes a recorded special) should become essential viewing for all. While being extremely funny, it also goes to some very hard places and provides some critical wisdom/lessons for all. It's a high-wire act to discuss the subjects he did while also still being able to deliver laughs, and Sloss did so without ever once needing a net.
