a great show with great authentic musicians. That drummer, Brian Blade is not human, I swear, and Daniel is... well, Daniel, all passion, no ego. Fun to see them in a small setting like the Troubadour.
The club is a great place to see a show. The band was pretty tight and the singer, Trixie Whitley has a great, strong voice. The show was only average in my opinion because the material was quite uneven, some good, some not so good. Also, the vocals were under-amplified and muddled. Trixie's powerful voice needed more high end. Often when she hit those last couple of high notes we could not hear them. They were completely cut out.
To watch Brian Blade play drums is worth the price of admission. Daniel Lanois is one of the most creative and influential guitar players alive. The whole band rocks. Can't wait for the CD in January.
