Damien Escobar on Tour

World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.

Damien Escobar Live in Concert

Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

First off this was my first time going to mable house amphitheatre. It was beautiful. Clean! Bathrooms were well kept. We sat in the lawn space. The sound quality was still really good. The performer's even made there way up. The energy at this event was awesome. The artists performing did not disappoint. Definitely recommend! We will be back 😊 Thank you.

He was okay I know he’s really good. Very nice atmosphere. I would love to have heard more of his own body of work but he put on a nice performance.

  • Disappointed

    by P. H. on 10/8/19Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 3 out of 5

Never been to a concert where the warm-up band gets more time on stage than the headliner. The warm-up band was fantastic! Damien was great as well but did not get to finish his performance due to time restraints. Very disappointed in the lack of time management on his part

by Simply beautiful on 6/10/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

The music was incredible. He played all the jams from back in my day. Because it was played with the Violin and the sounds were so soothing. It rained just a little but that eid not stop us from having a good time.

  • Damien Escobar's concert was excellent.

by Diana on 6/9/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

The sound engineering at Chene Park (Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre), however, has been deteriorating for the past two years. There is a lack of purity and distortion in sound. I hope that the problem is corrected soon.

  • Disappointed

by Mybelle on 6/9/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

I have to say, I have seen Damien three times now, and by far this was the worst show. It was not him by any means, it was the fact, that the other fellow concert goers where rude. They were late for the show, kept getting up and down, and even had a mass exit during his own break, I felt bad that he was not giving the respect, he deserves. I plan on seeing him again, I just know never go back to this venue. This was my first and only time I will visit the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre. So I am giving the venue the low score, not Damien. He needs to be heard!

  • Not what I expected for VIP

by Kristi on 6/8/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

No chairs for VIP members to sit down and eat. The sounds were a little muffled at times. We love Damien Escobar, so we will always be at his concerts!!! We will definitely return, but I doubt we will waste our money for VIP!!

  • AMAZING

by A. on 6/8/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Damien is amazing!!! The best concert I have ever been to. He connects with the audience and his friendly demeanor is heartwarming. The music is upbeat and fun I try not to miss this concert every year. The ambiance of being off the water listening to the smooth music is relaxing. I can't wait for the next concert. Damien is nothing short of amazing if you haven't been to his concert you are missing one spectacular show.
