Dallas Stars History
The Dallas Stars began play in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, earning two trips to the Stanley Cup Final. They relocated to Dallas after the 1992-1993 season and dropped "North" from their name.
The team immediately brought a winning tradition to Dallas, making the playoffs four of its first five seasons. Then came the back-to-back seasons that Stars fans will remember forever. In 1998-1999, sparked by center Mike Modano (the franchise's all-time leading scorer), off-season addition Brett Hull, and goaltender Ed Belfour, the Stars swept through the playoffs to defeat the Buffalo Sabres and clinch their first Stanley Cup Championship. The following season, the Stars again made the Stanley Cup Final, but lost to the New Jersey Devils in six games.
The Stars made it to the playoffs six more times over the next seven seasons, and went on to clinch additional playoff berths in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. They made it to the Final again in 2020, but lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game Six.
Since their arrival in 1993, the Stars have become one of the most successful sports franchises in Dallas, making 20 postseason appearances and capturing nine division championships and two Presidents' Trophies.

I loved every minute of this series!! The crowd (except that one Tuesday) but over all I love the Stars!!
I've been a Stars fan ever aince Minnesota, i love going to games and being in the environment of hockey and the Stars nation in general. However the attitude and complete lack of respect for all Stars and Vegas fans by throwing trash on the ice is uncalled for that is not who we are as fans of this great sport and for thise of us who want to enjoy the game win or lose is saddened by such behavior. Stars wether we win or lose are always a good group of guys and put on a good game regardless if we win or lose, go Stars!
They brought the jumbo down to our level in the lower bowl and had the in game production crew there. It was great to be with some Stars' faithful!
Great experience. Tickets were great and at a good price.
Every time I go to watch Dallas Stars game, it’s always an amazing experience. The atmosphere is one of the best in hockey. Stars have the best goal celebration in NHL!
What a filthy, sticky arena! I could not believe how dirty and sticky the entire place was and how much the restroom doors need a good scrub down.
We had a wonderful time at the Stars-Penguins game at the AAC! Our two favorite hockey teams. Exciting game till the very end. The Pens fans were great and added a lot to the evening. Check out the Dallas Stars!
What a great experience for my friend, it was her first hockey game. The stars did a fantastic job on the ice just as the employees of the arena did for the fans. Love the experience and can’t wait to go back!
Another great outing to see the Dallas Stars. Good seats (Section 124). Good environment. Great afternoon.
My husband and I took our grandaughter and son to a Stars game on March 4. The Stars played Avalanche and we won won won!!!! 7-3! My grandaughter Lucy is 5 and this is her 2nd Stars game...which of course she informed us many times. We purchased her a Stars foam finger and a Victor E Green. What a blast we all had. She is still cheering Go Stars!! Thank you. What a memory
Great facility, great team, great announcer and music and entertainment Loved the Ice Girls!
The tickets worked immediately with no issue and it was a fun experience
The games are always fun but they need a new stadium. The seats are gross and old and the cup holders on both sides were broken.
I'm a Brit and this was a blast - what a game, what an experience! Loved the atmosphere and everything about the game and the fans.
The Dallas Stars staff was very helpful, and I appreciated their help. I attended the Boston Bruins at the Dallas Stars NHL ice hockey game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX on Tuesday, FEB 14th. The Boston Bruins have been my favorite NHL ice hockey team since 1969, but I like the Dallas Stars, too. I am glad there is NHL ice hockey in Dallas. The Boston Bruins won the game by scoring the game winning goal with 1:42 left in the sudden death overtime period. I give credit to the Dallas Stars for playing a good, hard-fought game. I enjoyed the game and was glad I was able to attend it. (I live in Moore, Oklahoma and had to drive to the game.)
Ticketing, arrival, assistance, seats, concessions….everything on point. We will be back
I would give it 5 stars except I’m a Blackhawks fan. The Stars are definitely worth going to see. Especially if you are a bruins fan. Lol
The stars game was everything I wanted it to be - from the drinks to the atmosphere, this was a high point of our Dallas trip. We enjoyed the fan base and the game itself, along with the view that we had.
Drove up from Houston w/ excitement the whole way. TictetMaster is the way to go. Easy app experience and I really enjoyed the game. GO DALLAS STARS THIS NHL STANLEY CUP CAN BE OURS! FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT
I got a puck from sharangovich and it was so much fun!
