Dallas Cowboys Team History

The Dallas Cowboys have been led by star coaches dating back to 1960, when the franchise, then headed by Tom Landry, joined the NFL. Over the course of 29 years, Landry led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl appearances, five NFC Championships, 13 division titles, and 20 consecutive winning seasons. Following Landry’s tenure, the team has won three more Super Bowls in the 1992 (XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII), and 1995 (XXX) seasons.

The Cowboys have also produced stellar players, including Emmitt Smith — who led the team to win three conference championships — and Michael Irvin, who was the previous leader in all receiving categories.

massive stadium. not a bad seat in the house

    by rcobb01 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

great for the people that cannot afford the regular seats. beer was close, bathrooms close. pe prepared to pay out the nose for parking though($75-$40). cheaper parking on the "d lot"($20) on the other side of rangers ballpark. the "jerrytron" was amazing. clear as a bell!!!

Game was great, but get seats instead!

by AngieandPeter on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Jerry Jones needs to stop being so greedy and re-think the whole party pass idea. I would recommend spending the extra money on seats or planning to get to the stadium early to get one of the few slots available in the front row of the standing room section. We enjoyed the game, but we will pay extra for seats next time. It is worth paying for personal space if you don't want people yelling in your ear and spitting on your shoulders the entire time.

    Cowboys' games are expensive!

by TLBaccus on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

The stadium is nice and big. The food and drink are way too expensive. We had the party pass and if you get their early it's not too bad. Standing the whole game was a little harder than expected, wear comfortable shoes.

Good play on both sides of the ball

by mrpat on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Awesome venue. Getting in and out was not bad. Prices were a bit high, ie, $10 for popcorn or program, but to be expected. The game itself was good, too many penalties but it is pre-season. Defense especially looked good and it was good to see Kitna and Magee have some success. The sound system was not up to par, Jody Dean didn't come across well and the ref''s mic wasn't working early and when it came on in 2nd half we still couldn't understand him most of the time. The Jumbotron(sp needs to be raised and also used as a scoreboard. The small scoreboards are hard to read.

    Cowboys Party Pass

by LaWH on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

We purchased 6 party passes for the Cowboys vs Titans game. No one at the venue really could tell us where to go or exactly what the party passes included, but going to the lower levels that we already knew were standing room only. We didn't know if it included food, prizes, special events or what, and it wasn't explained on what it entitled you to. When we were at the lower levels, no one ever asked to see the passes so I'm not sure if wasn't in the right areas or just a donation of $29 + tax to the new stadium.

    Good game, exciting first game

by asalcido on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

We arrived at the stadium an hour before game time and stake out a position at mid-level where we had a table. Stayed there until the 3rd quarter. We had a great view from the end zone and took turns going to the snack bar and bathroom so we didn't lose our spot.

    Nothing fun about Party Pass

    by Egap548 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

This was a terrible idea. People just stand on the platforms around the field to watch the game, which means that if you aren't right up against the rail, you won't be able to see anything and can only watch the back of the heads of the people in front of you. I saw the entire game on the jumbo tron after wondering around the stadium for the whole first half trying to find somewhere I could see the field. I would NEVER recommend Party Passes unless you show up at least 1 hour early so you can be at the front. Honestly, I would have been happier at home spending the money on beer and the $30 bucks i dished out for parking on food. It sounds like a great idea and a way to see a game, but it is not. Avoid these tickets!

Great deal for a great view!

    by Corman1 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

We bought the party pass and we had an awesome view. We were able to stand at/lean on a little bar with a great view of the field. We were 2 seconds from the restroom and concessions stands.

    'Boys & stadium delivered!

by Scattergun on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Stadium is a must-see, but bring ya walkin shoes if ya park in the cheap lots ($20). Buck up and go for the top dollar parking lot: closer, more tailgatin and fun. Went to try out the Party Plaza scene and definitely will do it again.

OK 1 time to see new stadium

by NorthTxGal on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Pros: Got to see new stadium for low price, by second half ushers were lax and let party pass folks sit in empty seats. Cons: Limited access to refreshments (e.g., you aren't allowed to buy wine with a party pass, need to buy expensive ticket to drink wine); if you don't secure a "leaning" spot at the front of the pavillon early you may not be able to see the actual action (can see everything on the big screen though); I'm 5'4" and was lucky to get up to front "bar" because we got there early, otherwise wouldn't have been able to see a thing over all the tall guys. More tiring than you realize to stand for that long.

    party pass

by lilfresh on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

the party pass is a must get. nice view of the field from the endzone. many places you can watch from. you also have the big screen to watch the game. be prepared to stand for a long time. get there early enough to get you a good view and not have to stand behind anyone. its better than having a seat to where you have to stand up, sit down, stand up sit down to let people pass you so they can go to concession stand or the bathroom. you have easy access to the restroom or concession stand.

    Cowboy stadium

    by Horns1998 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Good experience. Awesome video screen. High food prices ($8.50 nachos, $5.50 cotton candy etc...) but to be expected. Rediculous price for parking at A, B, C lots ($50).

    stadium and Sro review

    by Shawn1212 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

1st impression....horrible. The gate situation unclear. You have to enter through particular gates and they are not marked. Event mgmt 101 is entrance should be clearly marked so people know what to do and where to go. It wasn't . 2 gates later we were finally given clear instructions and had to walk to other side to enter. Several people did like us, stood in line only to be in wrong line. Male/female body search, purse search, bomb dogs. Security very tight. Bomb dogs are for parking next to building. Glad the flask wasn't in the cleavage, would have been discovered. Once inside and to Sro area, found a good spot. Sound was horrible on the endzones though. Couldn't understand any announcements, music was so so. Feel like I had the better spot compared to most 400 seats. It was end zone, but I was lower and could see what was going on the field. Very rarely did I watch the screen as I could see play and numbers clearly. Other end zone was of coourse a bit more difficult to see. There were 3 deep in most sro spots and then people couldn't see anything. Not sure how many of these tix JJ is planning on selling, but beware you may not get a good viewing spot. Could end up quick uncomfortable come regular season. I could see people getting into fights. Stadium is beautiful! Clean, new and modern. Not a concrete block. Glass, steel, light. Tornado could do some damage to this one. Jumbotron is enormous and the best, clearest screen - HD Wow! Hope sound issue is fixed. Still under construction. Lots of staff. No seat jumping here, at least not easily. Overall, I was very pleased with my party pass. For $29 I had an awesome view and a great time. Didn't have to give Jerry anymore money either....didn't buy anything and didn't park there. Sorry Jerry. Going to Giants game and hope it is as great an experience and game. Go Cowboys!!!!

    amazing sights

    by dj47 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

The inaugural game at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington was a festival of amazing sights. First, coming from Dallas via I-30 one could see the stadium on the horizon about 10 miles away. We parked our car between Six Flags and Ranger's Ballpark and as we walked toward the new stadium, we again were awe-struck by the immensness of the structure and especially the 2 huge beams that run from end to end. Once inside the center screen basically commands your attention and the clarity of the images on it are mind-boggling. The game itself was enjoyable, but the true star on this evening was the stadium itself.

    by Sidney12 on 8/22/09Cowboys Stadium - Arlington

Unbelievable Stadium. The party pass is a great value. The only way I can afford a Dallas Cowboy Game.
