Genius and very musical! DAKHA Brakha is amazing Unique Glory to Ukraine!
The group's score to the silent film, Earth, is deeply profound. The pairing of film and music is both emotionally moving and intellectually engaging. I will not soon forget this experience. Truly outstanding.
On a lovel evening on the Niagara Gorge, fusing a painful moment in Ukranian history with the painful moment today, this large-screen in-person showing of the great silent film Earth, about the trauma of collectivization and machine farming, with the thrilling song and instrumentation of the activist experimental group DakhaBraka was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Only regret that there was not a brief introduction to complement the excelent closing commentary and on-stage interview by film historian Bruce Jackson. Thank you!
Have never seen anything like this before. At this time in history, they brought us joy and passion and love.
music was gorgeous, and performers' words between songs were very moving. the stage show with projections of animations and images of the devastation in ukraine were also very emotional
They were incredible. The musical and visual combination were captivating and beautiful. So glad I saw them
Incredible creative talent! Not to be missed! A must see performance that is the most unique and exotic that I’ve ever witnessed!
I stumbled onto Dakha Brakha during the covid quarantine on a great youtive channel/radio show called KEXP. The first song i heard was Vesna, meaning spring, and I was blown away! They quickly became my favorite band especially because I had studied Russian in college (I know they're Ukrainian, but that's jusg how i got turned onto the Slavic cultures). I never imagined I'd ever get to see them live, let alone while their country was under seige. It was genuinely one of the most beautiful and brilliant concerts I've ever seen, and a great testament and defense of their country and culture! If you ever could see them, DO IT!!
The concert was amazing - very emotional. Amazing and innovative music with extraordinary drive and vocal subtleties. Very beautiful video projections that add another layer of artistic and emotional power to the music.
The venue was the perfect intimate setting for Dakha Brakha. Everyone, whether a seasoned fan or curious first-timer, was filled with contagious joy from the moment they walked onto the stage. A Must see band!!
Amazing going again the concert was great going to see them again in nyc
It’s a very unique and absolutely amazing music band.
I was born in a mountain valley in former Yugoslavia, raised on dirt country roads that no cars could pass. The wild sounds of my childhoods were howls of the wolves at night, and birdsong in the morning. The sound of hooves on rocky paths, whistles of cart drivers, rushing of fast, untamed mountain rivers, and eagles screeching in the sky. One of my dearest memories is the harvest season. My grandmother, mother, and aunts, spread out in the fields, colorful scarves strewn about like flowers. The sound of dozens of scythes moving in unison. And above it all, their voices raising in song to give the scythes a rhythm to follow. Their singing was beautiful in a way that's hard to explain to this day. Softness was not in their nature. Their hands were rough from work, their knees powerful, their hips wide. Their voices led the scythes to harvest, but you could close your eyes and see them leading those same scythes into a bloody battle, the power of their voices enough to crumble the world. The first time I heard DakhaBrakha, I cried like a child. I hadn't heard voices like that since my childhood, and I'd been long enough gone from my homeland, that sometimes I lay awake at night, worrying it had all been a childhood dream. Hearing them live was a gift I will cherish forever.
I really loved a concert. DrakhaBakha are very talented and can do a nice show! Looking forward for the next concert!
Flew from Georgia to New York, to see DakhaBrakha on stage. Worth every penny, ten times over.
These guys are just astounding. I highly recommend seeing them ASAP!
Ready to go to their concert tomorrow again!! Amazing folk band.
Mesmerizing performance. Really strong voices and incredible stage presence. Makes you forget all about whatever is on your mind and that is a good thing.
I was entranced by them. I really want to go to Ukraine now and get a feeling for what it's like there now, the language and cultural roots seem incredible.
