Daddy Long Legs - very enjoyable

by Pekelo on 1/7/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

I took my 18 yr old granddaughter and we both enjoyed this performance. It was of interest to her because of her age, as she is just about to go off to college, It was a great production and informed the spectators about issues of the early 20th century. It was quite commical and the story was understood well through the songs. We truly enjoyed the evening.

    Daddy Longlegs was terrific!

Having seen & enjoyed the Fred Astaire/Leslie Caron movie version, I was at first skeptical about a two-person performance of this show. But it was incredibly well-done. Telling the story through music & letters allowed viewers to get caught up in the characters' lives. The actors had wonderful voices & great harmonies. The touching story brought tears to the eyes of the audience members. My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed this performance & would recommend it to anyone who enjoys theater & music.

Daddy Long Legs was moving and powerful

by DoctorJDHOUS on 1/2/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Daddy Long Legs was a truly wonderful experience; for a two person show, it was powerful, sustained in its intensity, and easily pulled you in with the story line. A real feel good evening, with great work by Megan McGinnis and Robert Adelman Hancock, both of whom have wonderful voices. Megan's voice was particularly stunning, gorgeous and transcendent. I needed an uplift, a reminder of the power of live theatre, a chance to be moved by song and story.....and I got all of that and more. Bravo!

    Daddy Long Legs was fantastic.

by traditionalist on 1/1/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

It was fun to see how the minimal stage props worked perfectly and how the small cast of only two actors interacted. We loved it.

    Daddy Long Legs was brilliant!

by Mogidolls on 1/1/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

The use of the limited set was wonderful. The idea of only 2 actors in the play at first made us uneasy but they did an amazing job and sang most of the play. They worked very hard!

Daddy Long Legs is a gem!

by TheaterLady62 on 12/31/11Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

I was truly surprised at how much I enjoyed Daddy Long Legs (FYI-my husband did also). The performers did an excellent job and have wonderful voices. The story flowed nicely and the songs were delightful. I highly recomnmend it for anyone ages 16 and up. The 16 is so that they could relate to the storyline only, there is nothing inappropriate at all for any age.

    Sweet and involving

by PieQueen on 12/18/11Temple of Music and Art - Tucson

Daddy Long Legs at ATC was totally charming. If I could have done this review in letter form rather than email, that would be a perfect way to say the play connected with both my husband and I. Great talent, innovative set, great music and lyrics.

    Daddy Long Legs was marvelous

by asimplefan on 12/12/11Temple of Music and Art - Tucson

The production was charming, in style and excellent in performance. I take people to the theater who have never been. My guest was moved by the actors and the music. It was a treat for me. It was compelling enough that the audience was enthralled and therefore behaved well. A perfect evening's entertainment!

We expected a lot when we arrived at the theater. Wow! We were not dissappointed! We have raved to our friends about the play and the splended performances by both actors. We absolutly recommend this play! It is a very fine performance.

    Daddy LongLegs was terrific!

by Cheering2 on 12/8/11Temple of Music and Art - Tucson

I would encourage anyone to attend! The singing was outstanding-their voices blended beautifully and were lovely solo. The staging was imaginative and kept the focus on the feelings of the 2 characters. We have seen plays in New York and London, and this was one of our all-time favorites! Wish we could see and hear it again! I think Robert Hancock also deserves some awards! They both did an amazing job of keeping their performances relaxed but so fresh in spite of all the many times they've played these parts!

Daddy Long Legs runs away with delight!

by NJRout3 on 12/3/11Temple of Music and Art - Tucson

Daddy Long Legs was a delightful evening in the Theatre. Both players were wonderful actors with lovely singing voices and I can honestly say that I heard -- crystal clearly-- every word that they said AND sang. The staging was as smooth as silk and the set was a well designed place that took me everywhere that Jerusha and Jervis went over the four/five years of the story. I loved the back lit library! SO CLEVER! Everyone should rush to The Temple of Mucic and ART to see Daddy Long Legs- I most likely will be back!

    Daddy Longlegs a disappointment

by TrishaEl on 10/31/11Gem Theatre - Detroit

This musical was so predictable that you knew exactly how it would end within the first 10 minutes. There was nothing noteworthy about the music, in fact the production would have been improved if it were done as a straight play. The cast of two were talented and did their best with what they had to work with.
