One of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today has also
made quite an impression in the television and radio arena.
In 1999, D.L., along with comedians Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer,
embarked on this national tour, which sold out most of the major concert arenas in over 50 cities across
the country. The tour went on to gross a staggering $37 million dollars nationwide. Spike Lee, eager to
expose the tour to a larger audience, made a docu-film of the tour, and it was released nationwide to
rave reviews.
Hughley spent four successful years starring in his own sitcom "The Hughleys" and showed no
signs of slowing down. It was the mega-hit,"The Original Kings of Comedy" that launched D.L into
superstardom. The film, based on the 1999 tour featuring D.L., Bernie, Steve and Cedric, garnered
close to $40 million dollars at the box office and became one of the highest selling DVDs in 2001.
In addition to some exciting television developments, D.L. took a serious turn with his work,
starring in the drama "Shackles". Hughley wowed audiences in 2001 in "The Brothers", co-starred in
"Cloud Nine" opposite Burt Reynolds and also starred in the film "Doubting Thomas".
In 2005-2006, D.L., hosted his own late night talk show for Comedy Central "Weekends at the
DL"; his first foray into late night hosting.
D.L.'s creative arsenal is non-stop. He starred as "Simon Stiles" on the Aaron Sorkin drama
series for NBC "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and hosted the popular BET hidden camera reality
series, "S.O.B. - Socially Offensive Behavior". In 2006, D.L. also starred in his own HBO comedy
special entitled,"Unapologetic". The special, which aired to excellent reviews, is now available on
DVD. Following the success of the special, D.L. went on to host the second season of HBO's "Def
Comedy Jam" and served as host of the BET Awards in 2008.
Most recently, D.L. served as host of his own late night talk show on CNN "D.L. Hughley
Breaks the News". Proving he could, indeed, break news, D.L. was able to uncover startling, newsmaking
comments from such guests as former White House Press Secretaries Scott McClellan and Ari
Fleischer, as well as a recent controversy-stirring comment from RNC Michael Steele.
D.L. can currently be heard on the New York airwaves, as the host of the morning show on
WYKS-FM. In just a few months on air, D.L. has managed to increase the listenership for the station.
D.L. has undoubtedly proved himself as one of the hardest working men in showbiz. In addition to his
growing TV and film resume, D.L. continues his reign on the standup comedy front; filling out concert
halls and headlining comedy clubs across the country.
Quality show great acts. Non stop funny. Well put together show
This show was amazing. It didn't disappoint me at all . True professionals at their craft . RQQ to my bruhz .
The sound was horrible. The comedians before DL Hughley and Monique was horrible. DL and Monique sound was just Okay
The comedians before DL Hughley you could not make out what they were saying the sound was horrible. DL and Monique sound was just OK.
Every comedian hilarious.. The energy was live and the cause was worth it ( Buffalo 10) Thank you for bringing laughter to our city! It was needed and appreciated.
I think it was a wonderful thing DL Hughley did for the families of the Buffalo victims of the Mass Shooting. My family was impacted by the shooting and very grateful for celebrities like DL Hughley and the others that gave their time and talents.
The show was quite good and I enjoyed it despite having to use the bathroom
All of the comedians were funny and hilarious. I never laughed so hard, aside from a few cruel jokes. They were well prepared and well informed of the social issues, especially Don DC Curry. It was worth the money and definitely for adults. I would definitely buy tickets to see this group in the future. They told the absolute truth while making us laugh.
I really enjoyed this show! After the tragedy that Buffalo suffered the city really needed some laughter.
Very funny! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Everyone was funny and added something different to the show.
The show was awesome. Each comedian did a great job. Thanks for coming out and supporting our community
Thank you DL for bringing an excellent comedy show to Buffalo. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. Thanks for bringing the crew out. Thank you for support Buffalo in our time of need
We needed comic relief. All the comedians brought the funny. Thank you to ALL for taking time to entertain us. Thank you Quincey and Talentâ¤
The comedy show was really funny! The 2 replacement comedians were a great choice! Sometimes we need a good laugh! I have several.â¤ď¸
Laughter is much needed today. They all brought it. I laughed so hard my stomach was hurting.
The venue was very nice however a little bit to much restrictions and the wifi needs a lot of help not to mention how way over priced concessions are for the portions.
Monique entire standup was just naturally Soooo FUNNY PERIOD !!!! I only brought ticket because I wanted to see Monique. I would not had brought a ticket never to see just DL Hughley he just not that funny to me. If I was DL Hughley I would not had wanted to come out after Monique because she is more funnier. I wish Monique would do her own tour I think she sell out â¤ď¸â¤ď¸ Monique
Very amazing show my girl Monique off the chain!!!!!!!!!!!!
The MC was very funny. My night turned sour when monique aired her dirty laundry in the first 20 minutes of her set. It was downhill.from there. I commend D.L Hugley for not engaging her remarks about him. He continued his set but i was disappointed in both of their performances. If there are issues between acts the audience did not pay to hear your differences. We cane to hear comedy.
I had a great time, despite Monique's rant!! She is clearly beyond anyones help!! I can't see her getting another shot. DL took the high road. He put on a great show!!
