Acting great, costume for george was not...

by SpSmom1 on 4/26/16Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester

Well lets start out by saying the costume for "Curious George" Was terrible.. I was expecting something more authentic but it was just some random monkey costume and you can see the persons face. Took our 4 year old and he immediately mentioned it and was disappointed by it. He said he doesn't look like george mom... we were expecting to see a costume like we have seen in other photos and videos online, something more authentic for the high amount of money we paid to see it! very very disappointing which made it hard to really enjoy the rest although the actors did a great job and all. The Chefs costume and the Man with the yellow hat costume were perfectly on target... the door man was a door woman which is fine to me but again the kids expect something more to the reality of the show since little once are more literal than adults. Please if you are going to charge an arm and a leg for tickets... get a better George costume... please please!

The musical was fun and easy for pre-schoolers to follow. I would recommend that more interaction with the audience would help keep the children in the audience engaged to the story line. Overall, very entertaining...who doesn't love George?

    Curious George Lame Event

by Fanjazztic on 4/26/16Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester

Very excited to see with grandkids and was very disappointed in event. Character who supposedly dressed as Curious George looked like a human dressed in a cheap halloween suit. Children associate Curious George like the character they see on TV and not a man who looked nothing like a monkey. Paid over $100 to see this hour show. Kids seemed bored. Longest hour ever. Spoke with quite a few people who felt the same way. When you are spending this amount of money get a quality suit and monkey makeup or authentic mask.

    Curious George Lame Event

by Fanjazztic on 4/26/16Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester

Excited to see with grandkids and shocked to see Curious George did not look at all like the character. He should have looked more like a monkey and not a person dressed up in a halloween suit. For an hour show he should have had a monkey mask or makeup done to resemble a monkey. Spoke with quite a few people who believed the same thing. We paid over $100 to see this for an hour and it was the longest hour. I think children want to see the character and not a human. They watch Curious George and expect he will look the same. Very disappointed!!!!!!

    Improve George Custom

by Abelardo on 4/26/16Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester

The show was good, my 3 years old kid was excited and paying attention to the show at least for the first half hour, after that he wanted to leave, but for his age is normal I guess… the only thing that needs to be changed is the curious George custom; I mean most of the kids at the show were below 5 and nobody believed that "that" was curious George; actually most of the kids were excited when "The man with the yellow hat" entered the stage, but when "curious George" was on the scene NOBODY was excited, nobody noticed him; I mean the adults understood that "that" was George but the Kids didn't; so in my opinion the custome needs to be improved.

    Curious George well played

by Dladatmlt on 4/26/16Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester

We had great seats. The only compliant would be that the costume for George should have been a little more recognizable.

Cute but not authentic Curious George

by Jls1228 on 4/23/16Meadow Brook Theater - Rochester Hills

The play was cute but it wasn't 100% authentic Curious George. The plot was ok but it didn't follow the normal show plot where George gets too curious and has to fix a problem. The actors were decent but chef Pisghetti made it tolerable. My girls were getting antsy it wasn't keeping their attention. The actor who played George had a very poor costume, didn't even look like George. The costume was a tan velour sweat suit with a handmade hat. It looked nothing like George and my girls were confused as were we at first. The pants on the suit were quite inappropriate for a children's show. To politely put it there wasn't much left to the imagination due to the tight fit of the pants. George spoke which is not authentic to the show he just makes George sounds. Overall it was ok wouldn't pay $20 a person to go again. For the price they could spring for an authentic Curious George costume that you would see with the original show.

Great show my son and I loved it! Great show, helpful attendants, great snacks for the children after the show. Just an all over good experience.

I thought the play was good..however...it was only 50 minutes long...I thought the price was high for a 50 minute production.
