    IMPRESSED!

by ParkersDadinLasVegas on 8/25/13Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

My daughter is going to begin her Senior year in high school Aug 26. In 'celebration' I purchased two tickets to the show because she has been a big fan of Courtney. At 57 I certainly know Courtney's story and have admired her from afar. Went into Vinyl at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas (where we live) not knowing what to expect. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. GREAT performance by Ms Love and her band. I was on of the few (and certainly one of -- if not the THE -- oldest member of the audience) that was not able to sing along to some of the songs (didn't know the lyrics). Courtney encouraged her fans to sing along at certain points and they did. She had the crowd of a few hundred in this wonderful small venue eating out of the palm of her hand. *** Her band was terrific. *** But what I came away more impressed with was the 'vibe' and 'aura' that was 'Courtney Love'. In her Life she has certainly had her dark and angry and chemically altered moments. (Who among us haven't at some point in our own Life?) She comes across as true to herself and gives off surprising warmth and good humor. From her interaction with her superb lead guitarist to her banter with the crowd. (At one point after she shouted to the crowd "F*** YOU! and they replied loudly in unison a lone voice shouted back the same line -- Courtney replied "That's only cool when everyone does it at once!") My daughter and I were right up against the center stage so I was able to see her up close and personal. Courtney possesses one of the easiest and warmest smiles I've ever seen on anyone. (I was not expecting a Courtney Love who handed out roses and showered her loving fans with rose petals. Although I was actually pleased to see a bit of 'punk' in her when she sprayed the same fans with water from her bottle) I entered the show with an open mind but was expecting the angry and growling version of Courtney Love. What I left with was an appreciation of her great music but a more profound appreciation of her spirit. Her smile touched and melted my heart and her music left this 57 year old feeing half his age.

She keeps getting better and better

by neongray on 8/25/13Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Courtney Love has still got it. This is the 2nd show I've see of her tour and she keeps getting better and her voice continues to improve. She interacts with the audience and performs the way a real rock star should. Don't miss her! Also, the sound is amazing at Vinyl.

    Look out!

by daytripp3r on 8/23/13Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel - Las Vegas

It was a pretty impressive show. Very small venue, mabye 400 people. Her voice sounded great and the band hit pretty hard.

She is a legend, sure. But her show very short.

by SebastianC on 8/17/13The Canyon Club - Agoura Hills

I've been a fan of her for almost 20 years, I saw her several times, the set list was very short. The songs that she played mostly her best material "live through this" and "celebrity skin", she could have played a little more, only an hour and minutes, next time if there is no something extra like a meet and greet I don't think I am going. The food at the Canyon was good.

Courtney Love always wows but fell short this time

by courtneylovefansince90s on 8/8/13House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Basically anytime you get to be in the same room as Courtney Love and listen to her perform, is going to be a good time. That said, this particular time, I felt let down. She played an extremely short set, presumably because someone threw something at her. But I think she was over it before she even got there. She was tired and just wanted to be done. Afterwards, a few of us gathered to meet her and she just took off in a Taxi quick as can be. After playing such a short set, she couldn't even stop to meet a few of us? Starred sucked. They are terrible. Please stop comparing them to Hole or Courtney. They are nothing alike. I don't know how something can be at once so sleepy and so loud. And the lead singer was obviously stoned or drunk or both, she could barely stand. It's a good thing I didn't pay to see them because I would want my money back. Again, it's Courtney, so still worth it but I think tickets should have been cheaper due to shitty opening band and super short setlist.

    Short, but great show

by Anonymous on 8/8/13House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Courtney was great at HOB! Great Set with some old surprises thrown in, Courtney seemed to be having a good time until the idiot threw the beer at the stage, which was pathetic. My only complaints: way too short, she didn't even play for 90 minutes, and unfortunately ignored her solo album when choosing her set list. But overall, I'd definitely recommend anyone who likes Hole/Courtney go see her if you get the chance.

    Love in the air!

by Maidenman on 8/7/13House of Blues - Dallas

Last Sunday night Love was in the air. True Love…..Courtney Love! Finally after almost 20 years I got to see Ms. Love live in concert. I had tickets for the Manson/Hole tour 14 or 15 years ago but Hole dropped out of it before it made its way to Dallas. The other times she came to Dallas I just wasn’t able to go. Love has always been one of those love her or hate her celebs, more seem to hate her. Sort of like an Anna Nicole Smith of music. She can look good, she can look horrible, she can have it together and be brilliant, but sometimes and a lot of the time she is a train wreck. Unlike ANS, Courtney does have some talent and ability. This show Love on her game. Energetic, feisty, professional, she had that attitude but was very humble as well. She and her band were very tight, and Courtney sounded really good. When she sang she sang well and she unleashed some of those trade mark screams during the show. I have always liked her music. There are 3-5 songs on each of the Hole albums I really like, It hard pigeon hole her sound as it has elements of grunge, metal and punk without being any of them. She has a distinctive voice like Stevie Nicks but she doesn’t really sing much. It was a small crowd 300-400 possibly less but there was an energy to this show and the crowd responded. I wasn’t sure what type of audience to expect. It was “diverse” that’s for sure. There were a lot of women there that looked like they were Kittie fans when they were young. There were butch lesbians, and some dude that looked like they might hang at the Blue Oyster. There were more female than males. Some of the guys looked to have been forced to go, but then there were some older metal guys like myself that just wanted to check out the gig. There were many “earthy” looking people that looked like the people that I see in towns like Austin or Portland. One thing for sure is that weren’t many attractive chicks there. Not that I care, these are just observations. I don’t recall the entire set list but when looking at other cities our show seemed to be a little shorter, 70 minutes, if that long. At one point some dude threw a cup at the stage and Courtney got pissed and said we were only getting 2 more songs. We got a few more but our set was shorter than some nights. A chick then poured a beer on the guy that threw the cup prompting Courtney to stop the show and give the young lady props. I have always wanted to see Love in concert, she sounded good, it was energetic and I really had a good time. Some of the songs I recall Plump, Miss World, Skinny Little Bitch, Gold Dust Women, Violet, Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, Celebrity Skin, Dolls Parts. This show deserved more fans that it got. I think she should be opening for a larger act in front of bigger crowds. I do know that I hope to see her again.

    Courtney Has Got It Together

by ScorpionHeatseeker on 8/6/13House of Blues Houston - Houston

Courtney Love was simply at her best this night. There was no new music. Simply a show built for the die hard fans. Early on the crowd was quiet but quickly warmed up and got Courtney's attention. The show opened with the song Plump. A stellar version of Gold Dust Woman was also early in the set. She played the hits Miss World, violet and Malibu early on as well. Then she slowed things down with the ballad Letter To God. Then she asked the crowd what song they wanted. Asking For It was the chosen song. This lead right into the song Jennifer's Body. Celebrity Skin was next. Then it was encore time. The show really heated up with Miss Love doing an acoustic cover of the Rolling Stones Under My Thumb which seamlessly lead into the song Petals. The guitar player convinced miss Love to sing Softer Softest next. With help from the crowd Courtney delivered the highlight of the night! Beautiful Son followed. The full band was called back to play Use Once and Destroy and the show closer Doll Parts. It was a excellent show with a lot of set list changes that led to very rare songs getting played live. The opening band Starred was not so good. The female singer is definitely a Courtney Love wannabe.

Courtney was a hot mess but amazing! love her !!

by Jolly47 on 8/6/13The Canyon - Agoura Hills

She opened with Teenage Whore which there couldn't have been a better pick. She made fun that it was a dinner theater night and seemed surprised that people sat during her show. I guess i was too but i paid a pretty penny for my dinner(which was a bad wedding dinner- cold and tough) And the visit to the restroom was a read through the Courtney Love look book. All the stages of Courtney- and not very good ones at that. Over all this was a great show and intimate setting for Love. Would do it all over again.

    Incredible!

by MadiR on 8/5/13The Canyon Club - Agoura Hills

This was the first time i saw CLove live and i was not disappointed - Courtney looked and sounded amazing! She sang most of Live Through This & Celebrity Skin. There was crazy energy & Courtney reached out to the audience several times which brought several people (including me!) to tears. I would have loved to hear some of the songs from My Body, The Hand Grenade, The First Session, Pretty on the Inside, or Americas Sweetheart...but lets face it, I'd want to listen to every song shes ever made! By far, the best concert/night of my life! I really wish i had a chance to meet her afterwards though. I'll be seeing her again later this month, very excited! As for the venue, it was so/so.. It was a dinner theater! Who sits and has dinner at a Courtney Love concert!? and as for the opening act, Starred, they weren't as terrible as everyone is saying - they had a shoegaze-y type of feel and i thought they were pretty good.

    Courtney Love was awesome

by Crazyceez on 7/31/13City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Courtney gave an average show she had problems singing at times she was losing her voice. Also, she only performed for one hour and that was it but besides that being in the VIP area and seeing Courtney up close and seeing her perform from where we are at was awesome. She still has it man too bad it couldn't be longer.

This woman at this club? Who thought this one up? Courtney was great though. Sang her heart out. Mind boggling why she played this supper club? I was just glad to be one of the lucky to see her.
