The only cavil I might add is that Da Ponte should have had an editor (cut the length and pass the sillier parts past the master, Mozart; as I suspect, Wolfgang was more clever with wit and lacked only facility in Italian ). Definitely go and see and hear it. No point in being shocked, Cosi calls for abandoning your reality testing, as that is intentional for your entertainment. Feminists beware--peggiore !!
