I didn't know what to expect from Slave, Zapp and Confunkshun after so many years. But I was pleasantly surprised with their performances. They kept the D.C. audience on their feet with their funky sounds. Confunkshun's lead singer still has his voice. Best of all the group's were real and engaging. Thanks for the great performances.
The event was great, weather was favorable and the atmosphere was funky!!! Music brought back memories of good times where sound was what you heard and not profanity. The drums created a heart beating rapture of wonder.
Slave started on time and was on point! Wish they could have played longer. Zapp came out and showed they butts! It was hard at first with Roger not being there, but they payed homage and did their thang! True peformers from the jump! Con Funk Shun was all dat!!! Still sounding great and moved on the stage like they were still in their 20s! The entire show was great!
Alsome show When they hit Computer love they did there thing on it. I know im young only 33 but this kind of music hit my souldmusic i feel
This was an absolutely GREAT show from start to finish. The bass players from Slave and Confunkshun were two of the best I've ever seen. I've seen Slave and Zapp several times in their haydays, and they haven't lost a step (taking into consideration Roger is not there. His presence would have made the show better). The only disappointment of the show is the lack of time given to Slave -- they should have given them at least another 30 minutes. Whomever gave them 15 minutes should be FIRED!!
This was a perfect line up; all old skool and to finish it up with Confunkshun was the ultimate. Slave came out and just started the party with their jams. Zapp - we will always miss Roger but they were so full of energy and just one big house party. I did not expect Confunkshun to be a party party band but MAN, THEY ROCKED! Confunkshun started a little slow and recognized it and said they were going to start all over again and start again they did! Their bass player was off the hook! He definitely came to party and his stage presence was great! When they started singing the slow songs they are known for, it just blew my mind. Michael Cooper has not lost a beat! I can't remember the other members name who does the high notes but he was simply amazing! All three groups can get my money any time they come in town!
