    Great show

by stillinhollywood on 12/16/12The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Concrete Blonde is one of those bands that play better live than on the album. Johnette is an awesome singer and bass player! This band has always deserved more fame than they have received. My only disappointments were that Johnette was obviously drunk and didn't come out for an encore.

The last time I saw concrete blonde was 19 years age at the Pony and I was blown away by their show. 19 years later I was still blown away.Johnette is such a powerful singer and songwriter. Thank you Johnette for a great show.

    Concrete Blonde always amazing

    by Kazz1120 on 12/14/12The Sinclair - Cambridge

The Sinclair is a great new venue in Harvard Square. It will be a great place to see a show for years to come. It was great to see Concrete Blonde back again. They were in a great mood and put on an amazing show. Loved the cover of Midnight Oil's Beds are Burning along with the rest of the cover tunes they do and also a great mix of tunes from all their albums. I was also touched by a song from a letter a soldier wrote. The show had a few glitches either from the band or the new club and sound system but they were handled tastefully and with fun.

No one has a voice like Johnette!!!

by Arnao on 12/14/12The Sinclair in Harvard Square - Cambridge

This is my 3rd time seeing Concrete Blonde in a span of 15 yrs. Her voice is like no other female artist. She has crafted such a persona in the way she sings & presents the music. She goes above & beyond the worth of a ticket, you do not leave disapointed.

    CONCRETE BLOND IS TOTALLY AMAZING!!!

by BEASTPI on 7/1/10The Music Box - Hollywood

MY FIRST CONCERTS WERE IN 1964. A COUPLE OF MINOR GROUPS NAMED THE BEACH BOYS AND THE BEATLES. THEN OF ALL THE GROUPS THAT I SAW PERFORM DURING " THE 60'S", FROM LED ZEPPELIN TO JIMI HENDRIX, THE STRONGEST ONES WERE THE TWO GROUPS FRONTED BY WOMEN, GRACE SLICK AND JANIS JOBLIN. STRONG VOICES, GREAT RANGE AND UNBELIEVABLE EMOTION. THEN LATER CAME PAT BENATAR. SHE HAS THE STRENGTH, RANGE, EMOTION AND SHE ROCKS!! THEN A FEW YEARS AGO, I BECAME INTERESTED IN THIS LITTLE LOCAL BAND CALLED "CONCRETE BLOND" THEIR LEAD SINGER, WHO ALSO PLAYS A MEAN BASS, AND LOOKS GOOD DOING IT, IS NAMED JOHNETTE NAPOLITANO. THIS CONCERT WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT TO MYSELF AND IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I SAW CONCRETE BLOND IN PERSON. JOHNETTE NOT ONLY HAS WHAT GRACE, JANIS AND PAT HAVE, BUT SHE HAS MUCH MORE! IT'S AS THOUGH SHE IS SINGING FROM A MOUNTAIN TOP AND THE STRENGTH OF HER VOICE IS ENABLING THE WHOLE WORLD TO HEAR HER. THE RANGE OF HER VOICE IS TAKING US ON A JOURNEY, FROM HER HEART TO THE DEPTS OF HER SOUL. THE EMOTION OF HER VOICE REACHES STRAIGHT TO OUR HEARTS IN A WAY WE KNOW THAT WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HER!!! AND HER SONGS, AS THEY REACH OUT AND CAPTURE YOU, TAKE YOU ON THIS AMAZING JOURNEY OF STORIES THAT REACH THE GAMUT OF EMOTIONS- THANK YOU CONCRETE BLOND FOR THE GREATEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!

    Concrete Blonde Rocked Hollywood

by mirdonamy on 7/1/10The Music Box - Hollywood

I have seen them before, and I am a huge fan. Johnette is my favorite female singer, in fact. This show, on 6/28/2010 was the most amazing show I've seen all year; and, it will go down as one of my favorite shows of all time. The set was incredible, although I would have loved to have seen them perform "Darkening of the Light." I loved the energy, the emotion, and the intensity of the music. The crowd was good too... not too many crazy drunk jerks in my section (just a few). Truly an amazing show! I am soooo happy to have this memory!

    Concrete Blonde

by Lilylover2010 on 6/30/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Johnette was and always will b a rock goddess!!! She commanded the audience..the stage and the sounds of Jim Mankey on the guitar was still impeccable after 20 years!! I have never seen them before this night and always wanted to...so from age 11 to age 32..still a devoted fan and avid listener of the amazing and talented Concrete Blonde!! I love you always Johnette. Flametal was such an eclectic and new sound..I thought they were a new band and a new idea...Loved them. The Music Box was such a quaint and interesting venue..I'd go back and watch another show there anytime.

by BoneYard on 6/30/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Love the Music Box makeover. and the all ages event. I can bring teenage music lovers to hear music. I was ecstatic to bring a new generation to see Concert Blonde.... Long time... 20 years seemed like yesterday.... Her Voice, the Band, the whole thing. So strong. Always amazed at this powerful three piece band. Their enjoyment to play, her beautiful tones rang through as a love for music. Thank you for a wonderful show at a wonderful venue. Mary

    Concrete Blonde

by MadScientist on 6/30/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Having seen the Blonde more than 20 times, again they fail to disappoint. Johnette looks and sounds better than ever. Manky's guitar work masterful as always. And Gabriel continues to beat the skins better than before. What was thought to be a show featuring the entire bloodletting album, turned into a eclectic show spanning all their albums. A great show as always.
