I don’t usually leave reviews for shows, but man what a treat to see some amazing hip hip legends. They had such an awesome stage setup and great vibes all around.

  • A magical night of real hip hop

From beginning to end Common and Pete Rock displayed the true form of an old school hip hop concert , great venue , great crowd , great night !!!!

  • Real Life and Rhymes Wrapped in Bangin' Beats

by mo on 9/9/24The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

This was more than a concert created by Common and Pete Rock, it was totally immersive. The vibe felt familiar yet totally fresh! I enjoy the call-and-response in hip hop, and this show had that and more. Common is 52, Pete Rock is 54 so the Gen X nostalgia was there, but the whole set, and I mean the stuff on stage, not the songs, was like stepping into a basement living room, complete with old-school artist posters, vinyl spanning 40 years, an ‘80s wood-paneled TV, and a cozy couch. They seamlessly blended their real lives and inspirations into a powerful performance. Common’s freestyle was the best, making me wish I could see how he changes it up for each venue. If you’ve read this far, check out their album “The Auditorium”!

Great experience to witness traditional hip hop. What I enjoyed most, Common freestyle off top of the head and no interruption.

  • God MC

by Mr. Mister on 9/9/24The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Common continues to show why he is an elite level MC. Amazing control of the mic, crowd engagement and showcased his amazing freestyle abilities. Loved the smaller venue. A real intimate vibe. Pete Rock taking us through the carousel of hits, he has produces over the decade. Hip hop at its finest.

The Common & Pete Rock concert was probably the best concert & performance I’ve ever seen!!!!

  • This show was fantastic!

    by Marketwatcher on 9/6/24Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fabulous! The Common and Pete Rock team put on an excellent concert! I was highly entertained. The only issue was the venue. I went to see them in Tucson, Arizona at the Rialto. The sound system was very poor. This show was amazing and I think that the sound system needs to be updated if they want to have a better experience for the consumers.

  • One of the best shows I've ever seen! ❤️

From the ease of parking and shuttle, the venue and vendors, the spacious and intimate amphitheater to a great performance by Common and his accompanying band- awesome show.

This was my first State Park concert and I absolutely loved it! The breeze in the air was perfect. The unity was matchless. Common set the tempo and maintained it. He was personable, authentic, and loved on the crowd unapologetically! He promoted unity and spoke life. I hope he finds his way to more cities in the coming weeks.

  • Always Expect the Unexpected!!

by Shakira Keynoa on 2/11/24Fort Mose State Park - St. AugustineRating: 5 out of 5

This was an EPIC night! Ambiance, Intimate setting, great food and drinks. Loved the location (Fort Mose: 1st time here) A Learning experience as well. The museum is amazing!! From the staff, bartenders (Gloria), security, Shuttle Drivers (Alicia), to the actual performance, everything was seamless and well organized. I'm sure my experience was just a tad bet elevated than others😁 due to ME being the chosen one to grace the stage with the Icon COMMON himself! 🤩 This was the highlight of my night. I was his whole hype woman and it was so fun to 2 step, dancing and waving the crowd on side by side with this show stopper. Well worth the drive and purchase.

  • Eh legit uneventful. *pun intended

by CianaDee on 6/21/22Promenade Park Stage - ToledoRating: 1 out of 5

To be fair, the show was cancelled. Something having to do with travel issues. This will not deter me from purchasing tickets for his concerts in the future. Still very much looking forward to seeing him live.

This was my first Common show and I was not disappointed as he is truly multi-talented! I’ve always thought Common was a talented artist and having the opportunity to see him live just confirmed my thoughts. I scored 4th row tickets for myself which was great. The venue was excellent as I prefer smaller venues as it’s more intimate and a Phan like myself can appreciate that an artist like Common can see most of his fans and would appreciate their support. Xoxo, H. Phan

  • Intimate venue; good location; small seats

by J.Saxe on 1/15/20Minetta Lane Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great area in Manhattan. Common’s Audible storytelling musical special was indeed special!! He’s a professional. Minetta Lane Theatre has tiny seats, too small for someone 6’2”, and also too close together in all respects but I sat in the front row of the balcony center so it was worth it to have my knees smashed in the front by the wall and my elbows crowded by larger attendees; worth noting an inconvenient balcony entrance layout where one has to walk across the entire row to get to seats on far right end, which is annoying to everyone when you’re late; the venue is so intimate that It seemed like the artist could reach out and touch our hands, so that’s awesome, but I was literally blinded by a couple of the lighting production moments obviously made with crazy-bright lights for normally-larger theaters... Probably no bad seats but I had an especially good one. If shows of this caliber continue to get booked, I’ll definitely try to see if GA (?) or orchestra main level (or anyplace!) seating provides a different sitting experience, but front of the balcony is hard to beat.

Such an amazing date night experience with my wife! Well written, well produced, well performed. The amount of love and time that went into this show is evident. The whole team deserves all the accolades that can be given to them. As a huge fan of Common as an artist and as a human for such a long time, it was a real treat to see the influence his father had on him come to life on stage. Having a similar dynamic with my own father, I can relate on many levels. If you are ever able to see this show, don't hesitate to attend. You will leave nourished and inspired.
