    Well played, sir

by dogiablo on 4/2/10UCI Bren Events Center - Irvine

Common is my mortal enemy but his musicality, showmanship, and infectious enthusiasm for hip-hop have won me over. It will be an uneasy alliance, true, but it shall be a bond forged in the roiling fires of dope beats and lyrical mastery. Huzzah!

Show was AMAZING, B.O.B.'s set was forgettable

by Anonymous on 4/2/10UCI Bren Events Center - Irvine

The Cool Kids did work and rocked the show, but I'm biased as they are one of my favorite groups out right now. I really wish they were not the opening act because of how long it took for B.O.B.'s band set up to take. B.O.B. had a good set but it got a bit long once he took out the guitar and his band came out. Common, although legendary, just KILLED it. I've never seen such an energized performance before. The price of admission was worth it just for Common's set, and the Cool Kids and B.O.B. were just icing on the cake. Complemented by the amazing DJ Dummy on the turn tables and Smurf on the keyboards, Common simply had everyone on their feet and rocked the entire arena.

    Common :)

by Irae on 10/4/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

It was the best concert I've ever been to so far. DJ Steph Floss was great. He played a lot of old school rap and hip hop which took me back. The crowd was definitely feelin it. Common was a bit late, about 30-45 minutes, but it was worth the wait. His performance was amazing, the band was excellent , and DJ Dummy killed it. The concert overall was a good time and I'm glad I got to experience it.

    Common is GREAT live!!!

by SYLOW on 10/3/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The show was really good. Common has personality and talent to spare. He knows how to freestyle, knows the classics (both his own and others) and knows how to play for a crowd. The man has "it". I'd happily pay to see him again. However, the show was too short. He played for 50minutes with no encore. I blame this more on the House of Blues than Common, but that was a tad disappointing for sure.

    He was cool!

by Cynda306 on 10/2/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

He rocked the house, but I expected a little more. For the price of the tickets, he really did not do too many songs off of his albums. He was adlibbing and rapping off of old school music and not really sticking to his music as they are played on his albums/CDs. This may be the last time I see Common in concert.

Common is true hip hop entertainment!

by apadawn on 10/2/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

Common has a very engaging show. Non-stop energy. He should come to Cleveland more often. His performance is very personal, as if he were performing in your living room. I think Common is an amazing performer and I am so glad he decided to go into this line of work. Love you Common!!!

    Superb pure hip-hop show

by lkajsfdlj on 10/2/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

Common was the most energetic of any of the three times I've seen him. He brought his band (drums, bass, keys) and DJ (who had a great interlude spinning behind his back and using his nose to work the fader). Setlist was just the basis for the show. A lot of extended jams, an old school medley (G Thang, C.R.E.A.M., Juicy, among others), a long freestyle, and some breakdancing and a drum solo during the finishing number (U.M.C.). A great show that not even a huge Common fan would enjoy. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

    Common was amazing!

by PRguru on 10/2/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

This was my first time seeing Common in concert. I got hip to him in 2002 (a little late) and I've been in love with him ever since. His music is deep and spiritual. He doesn't degrade women or talk about killing people or having jewelry. He talks about life. I loved it!
