We went for my husband's birthday and wanted something to include our 12 and 16 year old but still funny for my older kids. This was a lot of fun and everyone laughed out loud! I was worried about the sports theme for my daughter but it was funny for everyone.
I liked the low-key venue. The comedians, though not the cream of the crop, were pretty good. I enjoyed the a variety of comedic styles among them. None felt particularly local/Chicagoan, but that didn't matter. I say the show is worth it if you live there or if you're on a long enough vacation (mine was 7 days). If you're looking to explore Chicago in a shorter time, however, you should probably leave this show out of your schedule.
It was generally alright. Not terrible but not laughing so hard your stomach hurt. Would not go again. A lot of kids at the 8 pm show on a Saturday was perplexing.
I forgot to laugh. Improv was scripted too much for one. Not what I remembered from last event here 10 years ago.
Was not quite sure what to expect from an Improv show that was tagged as family-friendly. ComedySportz was awesome. Great laughs from ALL ages. Well done!
Very funny show. The show was upbeat and nonstop laughter. Also, they made a point to make the show family friendly (i.e. the audience was not even allowed to make inappropriate suggestions), so this would be one of the few shows you'd be able to bring children to. Yet myself, my elderly mother, and my teenage nephew all laughed throughout the show.
So darn funny! It's great to find a FUNNY and COOL show that is appropriate for the whole family. I will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
Awesome entertainment for the entire family ! We were having a family reunion and trying to fins something that every one in the family would enjoy and we FOUND it . All the performers were funny and engaging.
I bought tickets to ComedySportz on a recommendation from my sister who saw the show with her daughter last summer. I took my two granddaughters ages 8 and 17. The three of us loved the show! We laughed and laughed! The audience involvement is great! The ad lib comedy is fantastic! We will go again when we visit Chicago. A friend asked for restaurant recommendations for Chicago two hours after I got home yesterday. I have her food places to eat and also told her ComesySportz is a must see!
It was hilarious. So good, I'm new to Chicago and their comedy scene, but I thought it was wonderful.
Really enjoyed comedy and improvisation; clever and clean!
My husband and I, along with our two teens, attended Comedy Sportz. Loved the small theater size--there is not a bad seat in the house. The entire audience seemed to enjoy themselves. The comedy was family-friendly. You could tell the cast was having a great time, too. Would definitely recommend, and we will absolutely put this on a our calendar for another Chicago visit.
Was looking for a nice family friendly venue, though my kids are in their early Twenties, don't enjoy going to raunchy shows with them! They loved it, and my wife and I also loved the show. It was great to see even families with very young kids there...all had a great time and the performing staff there really did a great job engaging the younger kids. Definitely recommend this show for families!
Went to ComedySportz with a couple of friends and had an amazing time! Everyone was so friendly and really tried to include the audience as much as possible. An absolutely funny show for all ages. Will definably go again!
Amazing show! Loved. Better than Second City!!! Very talented group. A must see!
It was a really great show. They were doing some sort of prohibition theme, and that threw me off initially. But once the show got going it was great. The ref was really interactive and funny, which isn't what I normally expect from Comedysportz. Usually they are a little less hands-on, but this guy really knew how to work a crowd. Overall it was a really great experience and would recommend to anyone/everyone. My only complaint, if there is something to complain about, is that there was an absence of food on the menu.. Not really necessary, just something to note.
I love this show! There is no better event to take the kids to introduce them to comedy...and trust me, the laughter from the adults is just as loud!
Funny show and appropriate for our teenage boys. Not crude and not kiddish. Definitely worth the bargain price I got for tickets on Hottix!
A great family evening! Lots of laughter and good clean fun. Great night for the entire family. Improv was amazing! Great cast! Highly recommend for entire family.
There were really funny moments and also some that weren't so good. A solid B evening.
