I rated this fair because the comedy was just okay. There were a number of times it was funny but especially the "middle" act was not worth seeing. I found the long drawn out attempt to compare himself to other people was a real bore.

    Management Was Horrible

by SimplyMags on 4/1/14COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

Had reservations for 3, bought as a 50th birthday gift. The club is general admission, at least thats what the tickets say. We get there in plenty of time, tickets are waiting at the will call box. We give the tickets to the woman at the door (the club manager) and are shown to seats by one of the staff. Awesome seats to see the stage but close, cramped quarters. We order drinks from the bubbly, waitress. Drinks come, we tip and are excited to see the show and the club is filling up. The manager shows up at our table and tells us that the table is reserved and she is going to need us to move. We ask where she would like us to go and she points to one of the few empty tables all the way in the back. There was no "sorry guys there has been an error in seating" or any explanation other than these seats are reserved. SO even though WE were early and THEY were the ones who showed us to the seats we were treated badly and asked to move. When we asked for someone to speak to above the manager we were informed that the manager was the owner's daughter and there wasn't anything we could do. At one point she actually said to us that she didn't want to speak to us any further. Never offered a refund or an apology. We felt we were treated like garbage rather than paying customers even though the tickets were $107 and we spent anoth $60 on drinks. Seats sucked, the club was so hot that even the comedians were complaining about sweating. The comedians themselves were funny and I would pay to see them again just would not recommend that particular venue.

    Better then expected

by Smoothg718 on 2/25/14COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

Carlos Mencina and anothe big comedian was in town that same weekend and I went with the comedy stop because it was more cost efficient and had good reviews but didn't expect much. There was no magic show when I went for some reason but all 3 acts had me laughing esp Alicia and Greg. Good show. Only negative is the tables are really small and they sit 4 people at each so it's tight in there. Wouldn't recommend if you're trying to have dinner there also.

The stage setup is right up close in personal, and every seat in the house is great. The menu and service was excellent.

Joe Holiday's show was great family friendly fun

by JoetheGOM on 12/31/13COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

This magic show was successful in being fun for all ages. While many of the tricks were somewhat standard for professional magicians (and I knew how some were done from having seen them before and/or read about them), they were superbly performed and none were obvious giveaways or awkwardly contrived. Joe Holiday's sleight of hand skills are outstanding; even when I knew what he was doing and looked closely for it, I didn't have any "ah ha, I saw that!" moments. The only reason I did not give this five stars is that there were few truly unique tricks that nobody else does, or which left me utterly astounded. But I still had a very good time and recommend the show.

Comedy Stop...Place to be for a great time.

by MamaClaud on 12/30/13COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

We planned a family night on Dec. 27th to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. I am so glad we did. We had a blast and we all laughed so hard out faces hurt. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

    Entertaining!

by Anonymous on 8/20/13COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

We truly enjoyed the show. It was well worth the price of a ticket and plan on going back with the whole family. It is a very family oriented show which is not always easy to find but still entertaining for the adults.

A Night at the Trop Comedy Club

by KSTONES on 8/3/13COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

One always gets three quality comedy acts, great seats and excellent table service - all for a very reasonable price - at the Trop Comedy Club! If you just want to laugh and relax for a night - and the shows run every night - one should make it over to the trop.

    Comedy stop.

by Phillymnms on 4/22/13COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

Always a good time. Was a rare lineup. The host and the 2nd performer rocked it. And saved what could have been my first live disaster at a comedy show with a 71 ur old headliner with some pretty old material. Will be back soon!!

    Can't remember the comedian's names.

by Daysleeper60 on 11/22/12Atlantic City - Tropicana - Atlantic City

I've been to the Comedy Stop on a few occassions & usually I can remember the names of the comedians, not on this occassion. The place was empty, we went the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I think there were just about 40 people in the audience. As, I said, I forgot the names of the comedians by time we got to the parking lot. The first comedian, she couldn't make eye contact with the audience, it's as though her cue cards were written on the ceiling. The next comedian, I do wish I could remember his name because he was actually the highlight of the show. Then there's the headliner, well, I think the 2nd comedian should have been the headliner. If sound effects are your pleasure, then I guess the headliner was funny. I'll go back again, because as long as you don't expect quick service & to have hit or miss on the comedians, then it's a decent enough night out.

    Not so great!!

by Shoregirl23 on 10/2/12COMEDY STOP AT THE TROP - Atlantic City

I went to the comedy stop a few weeks before this show and the comedians were pretty funny (especially the headliner). I decided to go back during a girls weekend since the first experience was pretty good. Bad decision. The seats were horrible and so uncomfortable to the point that you couldn't even fit your legs behind the seat in front. The comedians stunk!!! I understand that certain comedians will appeal to certain audiences, but these specific comedians were not funny at all and hard to understand. Not to mention the owner seemed pretty arrogant in his interactions with us! Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon!
