    Come Fly Away

by kathykg on 2/29/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

The music was good and the dancers were great. They all danced their hearts out. I was a little taken aback with the sex theme. I'm not a prude, but some dances were over the top. I'm glad I didn't take teenage girls to this event.

    Great show

by haboy on 2/29/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

Loved the band- they are fantastic. Put you right in the era of the original music. "Take 5" was performed to perfection! (a surprise tune as it is not normally associated with Frank). Actually expected a live performer (like a Frank impersonator) to be singing the songs - that would really be something. The dancing is insane! These dancers go and go without stopping. Overall a very wonderful and entertaining show.

Did not realize it was going to be a recording of Frank Sinatra music. Thought someone was going to be singing. Disappointed in the show and bored after 20 minutes.

    Don't Come Just Fly Away

by FranksFanz on 2/28/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

I saw the show at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, MD. I do not recommend this show to anyone especially Sinatra fans. It was $140 lost and 90 minutes of my life I will never get back. I almost walked out halfway through the show. I gave the overall rating 2 stars and wished the music (three stars) and dance (1/2 star) could be scored separately. The music was good, but overall the “interpretive” dance was awful. The Music: This was the best part of the show. The band was clear and classical Sinatra. I especially enjoyed the saxophone player. The Dance: The shining light of the dance team was the bartender and his waitress partner. The rest were clumsy, contrived and just boring. The choreography was awkward and just did not fit the music. Sinatra’s music is smooth. So much could have been done in combining the music with dance, but the direction the dance took was graceless and sexually exploitive. During the show the women’s costumes continuously raised, until they are exposing their underwear and the men start taking off their shirts and before you know it men and women are running around in their underwear. The men start touching women’s private areas and the redhead dancer started into a full out strip. I was waiting for a stripper pole to appear and all the gang to join in. This is no nightclub I have ever been to, even in the wee hours. My recommendation is to put on some real Frank Sinatra music or a Rat Pack show on and enjoy, just don’t waste your time or money with this show.

You gotta really like Frank Sinatra

by LInthicum810 on 2/28/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

Most of Sinatra's songs are very similar. New York, NY, My Life, and 2 or 3 others were memorable. The whole performance was less than an hour - started 20 minutes late. About 1/2 the hall's capacity was there - maybe they were waiting for more to buy tickets. You could buy the $60.00 seats and sit in orchestra. Band was good, dancers did their thing. A little too artsy scheme for me, however. All in all, disappointing compared to Jersey Boys.

Come Fly Away was an amazing show. I took a friend who had never been to the Lyric before and thought it was awesome.

not what I expected I thought live some singing would have been nice.... the dancing and live band was the good. it would have been nice to know the names of the dancers to match to the program it was a short show I would only recommend if they love Sintra music and live singing was not part of the program.

    True Sinatra Feel!

by CruiseQueen on 2/28/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

Hearing Sinatra's own voice, accompanied by a great orchestra, was a real treat! The athleticism of the dancers was superior. An very uplifting performance with lots of energy and fabulous music! Not to be missed!

Come Fly Away can do just that

by emdeon on 2/28/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

I and my group were very disappointed. They could have done so much more. The dancing was good, but not to change outfits or scene. it was too much of the same thing over and over and very short show, but A show like this you couldn't take too much of it.

Band was fantastic. The dancing was superb. Disappointed that Strangers in the Night was not one of the songs but overall was very good.

    Love Come Fly Away!!

by MissFairfax on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

I do have to say that after seeing Come Fly Away in NYC with the cast they had, this touring cast was not as amazing. BUT I still loved it nonetheless. It was just as colorful and romantic. In NYC it was longer. I am still wondering how the ticket was less expensive ON BROADWAY, even though the NYC cast had better dancers and again, was a longer performance. Anyway, they have a live brass band and Frank Sinatra's voice, Thyla Twarps creativity, so not much could go wrong. Will still be at the Kennedy Center in April to see it again!! :)

    NOT a musical

by KIngjamez on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

If you like musicals, SKIP "Come Fly Away". Recorded Sinatra is piped in to allow dancers to dance, but never speak. It ends up being a glorified strip show completely inappropriate for children. What a complete waste of time.

    Come Fly Away disappointing

by Anonymous on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

Although the music was wonderful and the dancers very talented, the story fell flat. I do not know why the characters had names in the program, you had no idea who they were. The couples switched around too much to really understand who was with who..... it was more of a review, not Broadway material.

    Enjoyed very much. I'm a Sinatra's fan.

by GotUunderMySkin on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

It was a pleasure, my daughter also liked it very much. What we completely didn't like: TOO SHORT!!!! 80 minutes were not enough, specially taking in consideration the price of the tickets, parking. I saw Fosse, My Fair Lady, and others, and those shows were longer.

    An average show.

by AMJF on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

The band was great. The dancers were, for the most part, excellent. We would have preferred a live singer to Sinatra's recordings. Costume changes might have help break the monotony. And, frankly, the choreography was the same throughout the show. We would have liked more variety.

Sinatra weaved into artistic dance numbers!

by Elvis68 on 2/27/12Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric - Baltimore

80 minutes of "The Voice" accompanied by some of the finest dancing I have seen in a long time. It was a non-stop ride for the Sinatra enthusiast.

Great show! Wish it was longer as I could listen to Frank sing for hours on end!
