    BEST SHOW THIS YEAR!

by ABKIRBY on 4/17/12Hobby Center - Houston

This by far was the best show @ the Hobby Center I've attended this year.

I always liked Frank Sinatra music, but I have a whole new appreciation for it now. The music was fantastic. The dancing was awesome.

I would recommend this show to everyone! The dancers were great and the band the best. Really enjoyed the trombone solo by James Nelson - great jazz playing!!

It was amazing how the dancers were able to portray the entire story without saying a word! Their movements and facial expressions said it all. The songs were expertly arranged to give the audience the plot. I loved it!! :)

    Not real creative

by Deemore on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

This is sort of a ballet to a Frank Sinatra 8-track tape. There is no original singing but there is original dance. There is no story. There is no plot. The dance was adequate with an occasional flash of passion. But, for the most part, many of the dancers phoned it in.

    Fun evening

by RHerath on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

The show was very fast and full of energy. The performers were excellent. The band was hot and Sinatra was his excellent self. I loved that they used his actual recorded voice but set it to live music and dance. Wish I was half as inshape as the performers!

Come Fly Away explained it all...time just flew by

by eeej on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

Outstanding in many ways...super sound system. The big band was terrific in sound and timing.. It sounded like Frank was there singing with them...amazing. The dancers were fabulous...at times it seemed that they were suspended in air - what a mix of dancing & acrobatics! There was not a moment wasted - one tune ended and the next began. I know that there was a story line, but it was not easy to follow but who cares...it was the glue that put this all together. Must mention that the staging and lighting created a great mood. The production left us breathless.

Basically a contemporary ballet set to Sinatra music. Overall it was excellent. Fun to watch and hear all the great Sinatra tunes.

    come fly away

    by trm0 on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

I was a bit dissapointed in the show. I was expecting for there to be a story line with songs of Sinatra in it. All they did was dance to his music, granted the voice sounded just like him so not sure if someone sang like him in a seperate room but the actors did not sing at all. Also, I was happy to know that it lasted only 1 1/2 hours.

This performance was spectacular. I would recommend this performance to anyone who appreciates the music of Frank Sinatra. I can't wait to see it again.

    Come Fly Away--Please

by morganhatter on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

Frank's music was great!, the musicians did a fine job. The dancers were fine, as well. It wasn't very long--barely over an hour. However, there was no spoken dialogue so the dancing got a little boring toward the end. Nothing to pull me emotionally into the period or era of the music.

    EXCELLENT DANCING!

by mammafox on 4/16/12Hobby Center - Houston

I am the mother of a dancer & have experienced many forms of dance over the years. This show sure encompassed them all. With the undertones of classical ballet, the dancing in Come Fly Away took you on a journey of unbelievable interpertative dance. 2, 4, 6, and up to 14 dancers on the stage at one time was 'almost' overwhenlming. Every place you looked there was excellence in technique happening. It was a truly enjoyable evening & being a native New Yorker, I especially enjoyed the ending of the show!!

Come Fly Away - and we did!!!

    by HoustonShow04152012 on 4/16/12Hobbby Center - Houston

This was a perfect date for our 18th Anniversary. The band was great, with a fantastic Sax player. The Dancers were strong, and the show non-stop. Some of the attire and choreography may not be suitable for younger children, but does fit within the show. Previous comment, stated “singing was mediocre”. Apparently they are not Sinatra fans, because from what I could tell, the band was live, with Sinatra voice-over lyrics. Great show, would recommend seeing, even more than once.

We had no idea what to expect. The cast engaged in a marathon of dance actvity with a few members carrying the show. Most of this was meaningless in the context of the music and really appeared to be an exhibition of physical stamina combined with ballet and gymnastic exercises. The band was absolutely excellent in backing up Sinatra's recordings. Overall the show was way overpriced-there were quite a few empty seats, so apparently other people knew more about this show that I did. This show did not even come close to the Jersey Boys and the Million Dollar Quartet, yet it cost as much or more-over $150 for an hour and 10 minutes watching people run around on stage. I think they did the best they could under the circumstances.

I found it repetitive and boring. It reminded me of dancing with the stars. But, set to Frank Sinatra recorded vocals that played over the band. The cast did not speak or sing. THE SHOW WAS 75 MINUTES with no intermission. The horn section of the band was excellent.

Not a family show but frank is fantastic

by ClambakeCat on 4/15/12Hobby Center - Houston

The opening was wonderful with the rich sounds of Frank's voice. However there was so much sexual content in this show I was uncomfortable sitting next to the eighty year old women who was gripping her purse nervously during a part preformed by a male dancer in only some underwear The dancers gave it there all and we're talented however it was just trashy . I expected something classy to represent the music not a scene from a club. the band was amazing and a lot of fun to watch , they plus Franks voice saved the show .
