    Hockey Game was Awesome

by PuBear61 on 2/18/13Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

Enjoyed the game, the seat was as expected incredible right next to the glass. Had one hit from the players that felt like it was coming right into my lap. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were a nice bonus, up close when they did their show..

    Great game!

by Hiitsmepam on 1/22/13Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

Awesome game - Snakes won! Would recommend attending a game to anyone. It's very family oriented with lots of involvement with kids attending. Wish hockey was more prevalent here in the south.

    NHL Who?

by Goalie43 on 3/21/11Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

I have attended numerous NHL games, primarily in Atlanta, and seen everyone from members of the Original Six to some of the latest expansion teams play. "Superstars" on these teams have rarely failed to disappoint the crowd due to their lack of intensity and 80% efforts on the ice. We had a group attend the 19 March 2011 Mississippi Surge v Columbus Cottonmouths as well as a recent SPHL game in Pensacola. Ticket prices at third row from glass - less than $30 compared to approx $100 at Blueland, 100% from EVERY player on both SPHL teams, great team interaction with the fans, very cordial staff. I am through paying for multi-million dollar superstars that skate enough to get a paycheck. I know it is every minor league hockey player's dream to get to the big ice, I just hope they don't forget what got them there. My only regret at Columbus was no blimp and no Ice girls (sexist, I know). The traffic coming into the building should be controlled better but the staff was very helpful in trying to keep some order in the chaos once the turnstiles were opened. All in all, a great time and I will certainly plan on ordering a season packet for the 2011-2012 season. GO SNAKES! On a side note - The National Infantry Museum is a must see in Columbus. I work in Fort Rucker, Alabama, and have toured our aviation museum and the Pensacola Naval Museum as well. Both of the afore mentioned museum are great but concentrate on the aircraft (as they should), the Infantry Museum concentrates on the men and women that put the boots on the ground. Awe inspiring, solemn and heroic. Thank God for our military.

Avoid More Expensive Seats at Cottonmouth games

by JAGDES on 2/14/11Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

This is the worst experience I have ever had inside any venue. Bought ring side seats but never set in them. When entered the Civic Center, which I have been to on several occasions, we asked a gentlemen with credentials around his neck where our seats were, he told us to go upstairs and enter from there to our seats. We did so, but because the arena seats were so poorly marked we went to the wrong seats and had to move when the rightful owners showed up. We then asked another steward where our seats were and she sent us to the other side of the arena. Not there either. We went back to the otherside and asked another steward who pointed us to seats that were half the rink from where we first sat. Not our seats either. We then went back up stairs and looked some more when the steward would let us because they stop you from entering when play is going on. Exasperated and having missed the 1st period we left, never to return. If you want to see a hockey game drive to Atlanta and watch the Trashers play -- at least the stewards know where your seats are at.

    Wiennie dogs on Ice

by KOtiger on 1/19/11Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

This was my first ever hockey game and it was soo much fun!! There were like 3 or 4 fights and I couldn't help but get excited and cheer it on!! And even better feature were the fact that I never in a million years thought I would see 70 Dachshunds all in one place before let alone 70 of them running on ice!!! I will definitely be returning for another game!!

by Britt687 on 1/11/11Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

It is a very good thing to do, even if you think you might not be interested in hockey. You will get addicted as me, my mom and my boyfriend has done over the past 4 years.

    cottonmouths playoff game

by clkehn on 4/5/10Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

the game was a blast - definitely got our money's worth - the game went into overtime and the cottonmouths pulled it out in the last minute! The fans were into it, the venue was nice, and the food and beer selections were much broader than I had anticipated at a minor league hockey game.
