About

Colt Ford is back with his best album ever and all it took was a return to his roots.
“I went backwards,” Colt says. “I went back to Ride Through The Country.” Which is not to say Colt simply re-hashed his breakthrough album. Quite the contrary, in fact.
In all, Colt wrote or co-wrote 14 of the album’s 15 tracks.  “This album is very real and honest and by far the best record I’ve ever made,” Colt says with pride.  “The last two records—I stand up and cheer for them—but I tried to make a lot of people happy on the last two records and I took the edge off of it. On this record I put the edge back on there.”
Those familiar with Colt’s lotta-fun-legacy shouldn’t be surprised that Declaration of Independence is chock-full of good time anthems and left turns.  “I hear artists say, ‘I’ve got 10 songs and they’re all singles.’ Well, I don’t know if I want to even hear that record, because that shouldn’t be the case,” Colt contends. “If you did 10 songs and they’re all singles you did a whole album of vanilla.  I would prefer to have a few different flavors. Just because something isn’t designed as a single, doesn’t mean it’s not a great song.”
For the legion of fans that have seen Colt’s live shows—over 750,000 did in 2011 alone—“the edge” is what they’ve come to expect. In the same way that a superstar athlete leaves everything he has on the field, Colt knows no other way to perform than to be all in. “I give it everything I’ve got when I go out on stage,” he says. “It’s about the fans. That’s my goal, to reach and touch as many people as I can. I don’t really have any goals beyond that. I’m so blessed and lucky to play music for a living.”
Perhaps it’s that sense of not belonging that allows Colt to connect to his blue-collar fans. “There’s nothing about me that ain’t country,” Colt says with a laugh.
As millions of fans and Colt’s artist friends know, truer words have never been spoken.

Colt Ford is an awesome good ol' boy!!!

    by dawg22 on 5/28/11Headliners - Toledo

The Colt Ford show was one of the best concerts I've been to! The venue wasn't the best, but it was perfect size for the show! I was kinda disappointed that there wasn't more people there to show Colt the NW Ohio love.....but the couple hundred there made sure he knew!! Don't miss the next opportunity! I hope to see Colt back in Toledo SOON!!!!!!!!!!

    Colt was great!!

by TexaSweetheart on 2/22/11The Norva - Norfolk

Love Colt and all members of his band except the women in the short dress. I thought her voice sounded at times like Minnie Mouse. Colt really would do much better without her in the group. Her tendency to almost touch herself was tacky, audience folks even started throwing dollar bills at her as if a striper was on stage.

Colt Ford was awesome as expected

by ChaosKitty on 2/19/11The Norva - Norfolk

This is the first time seeing Colt Ford in concert and it was great. All of the band members are so talented and Colt himself sounded better in concert than on a cd. We all had a great time and the show was also entertaining and fun as well as the songs sounding awesome. I would recommend Colt Ford to anyone who has country in their soul, he is truly amazing! Best time we ever had at a concert!!

It was girls night out and we really enjoyed the show. We knew the words and could relate to most of the songs. It is great to see local folks coming home to perform.

The Colt Ford show was one high energy event! Fans of Colt Ford and Rachel Farley packed the venue to where it was standing room only. I would suggest you check out both artist anytime that you can. They are both amazing artist and put on very entertaining shows!

    opening act WAY too long

    by country5678954 on 1/31/11Wild Bills - Duluth

the opening act was on when we got to the show at 9 30. It seemed like she played and played and played and played...you get the idea. She was good but all of her songs sounded the same and the mic was so loud you coundnt hear a word. It just got annoying after a while. But once Colt Ford went on it was all better! he put on a great show and we really enjoyed ourselves. I was still a little disappointed to see that he brought out the opening act AGAIN to sing the chorus for "dirt road anthem"..kinda ruined it for me. But overall, Colt did awesome!

This was my first Colt Ford show and it was awesome. He played all the great hits and even a few classic rock goodies. The whole band was very entertaining. I would recommend that if you like Colt Ford, you have to see him live. One of the best concerts I have been to.

Concert was awesome!!!! We had a great time & the music was rockin!! Would do it again in a second!! Only downside was Colt Ford took too long to come on stage... but I guess the venue serves more alcohol while we waited. But overall was an incredible night!!!

The show was good... That being said he did not play cricket on a line which was the one song most of us wanted to see/hear.

    Colt Ford

by Anonymous on 11/8/10The Pageant - St Louis

Not a good show. Colt Ford was on stage for just about an hour and 20 minutes of that was having his band do solos. He played about 7 songs. I would not go again.

Colt Ford at the Pageant was great!!!

by jdub777 on 11/8/10The Pageant - St Louis

Colt Ford is awsome! The band is really good and all the members of the band are so talented! Sunny Ledford was there also and he is great. There are no bad seats in the Pageant. Very intimate setting, but there was still a dance floor right in front of the stage. People were dancing and singing to every song. One of the best concerts I have been to. He was definitely "Mr. Goodtime!"
