The event was not all that I hoped for!

by Milo13 on 3/22/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Its not that I didn't enjoy myself. Its was that no where online was it posted that it was a family event. I payed way to much for a 45 minute symphony. It was a birthday gift I had gotten for my mother. She enjoyed it, however she was disappointed that there wasn't more to hear and we did drop ten bucks on parking. We settled on trying again for another symphony, because after all the performance was great. We were just unaware it was family day and it had to be short for all the kiddo's. No harm, and we'll be back...although a discount for the next event couldn't hurt!

As usual, the CSO under the direction of Scott O'Neil shone like the sun of the play. The narration by David Rutherford was great, and the way the story was presented by describing the different characters added to the overall enjoyment.

    Hale'akala

by MonCherie on 3/22/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

We loved the music and the narrator for Hale'akala. We would have enjoyed about 15-20 minutes of more music. 45 minutes seemed a little short. Great show overall!!

    Very Good

by Talentless10 on 3/18/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The program was outstanding. I was in Mess 7. It was not posible to hear words from the leader of the group or from the singer. The music was great but the microphone and balance of the symphony orchestra was not well done.

Was a wonderful concert- the only issue was that it wasn't long enough! Could have listened to many more songs. Great mixture of pieces and performance as a whole. So very glad I spent my birthday at this event!

Cherish the ladies- 2 hrs of great entertainment

by buckeyebookgal on 3/17/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

fantastic combination of singing and dancing. The Irish step dancers truly amazing and entertaining. Loved "The Ladies" and the personable and humorous Ms. Madden (pennywhistle player) . I recognized several of their songs from their albums .The young woman who sang with them was sometimes hard to understand but maybe that was because of her Irish accent. Songs fun and truly Irish!! Great value and great way to spend an evening-plus we had a very engaging usher who visited with us!

    Very enjoyable!

by Birdi on 3/15/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

The concert hall is very nice and the acoustics are quiet good. The program, as with all the programs I've heard, was incredible. My only comment was that the piano sounds were a bit off and someone noted that it was probably because the piano was not lowered from the casters to be connected to the sound stage. All in all, really enjoyed it and will continue to come back and recommend to friends.

    This concert was superb.

by treemom on 3/14/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Every second of this concert was superlative. Natasha Paremski brought an interpretation to the Chopin Concerto unlike anything I've ever heard...so soft, yet so powerful. And Sheherazade was so utterly fabulous, it brought tears to our eyes.

    Natasha Peremski

by jjbs42 on 3/14/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Natasha was amazing. So was the orchestra, and the conductor. But for me, the star of the evening was the concertmaster violinist, Yumi. Incredibly beautiful violin!

    What a Great Concert

by daveg777 on 3/14/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

This was our fifth concert with the CSO this 2009/2010 season and we thought, the best. Ms. Paremski was incredible -- so fluid, dynamic and emotional. Frankly, we enjoyed her playing more than Lang Lang earlier in the season. We are so glad we decided to attend on basically, a bit of a lark. We took a chance and were very well rewarded. The CSO gave one of their finest performances that we have heard. So many of the members were featured and the pieces were very beautiful. All in all, this concert featured some of the best music we have heard all season and the performances were all brilliant. There is still time to see this show today. If you read this in time, I strongly urge you to attend.

    truly fantastic evening!

by henre on 3/13/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

This was, without question, the most brilliant performance we have ever witnessed in this venue.. Ms Paremski was amazing and the 2nd half performance of Scheherazade was completely transporting and riveting. If Peter Oundjian were to move to Denver, we would have season tickets in a heartbeat.

Marvelous program. Great mixtures of music; all very well done.

    Watts was superb! CSO off-balance.

by tictoctek on 3/8/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Loudness and vigor of violins was low, distant. EVERY violin needed more strength, volume. Although not necessarily true, we 'felt' like violinists were dispassionate, not working hard enough for our money, which was disappointing for a Watts/CSO headliner. Granted, the round auditorium disperses strings' sound, unfortunately, but violas & cellos were impressive and grand by comparison. Other instruments were in balance and well-played.

    This was wonderful

by Strumpet101 on 3/8/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Really, the whole program was wonderful, but Andre Watts playing Grieg's piano concerto was sooo wonderful.

    Andre Watts is amazing

by Anonymous on 3/7/10Boettcher Concert Hall - Denver

Not usually as impressed with symphonic music as this, but this show was amazing! Andre Watts is an INCREDIBLE pianist, and the Sibelius portion of the concert was haunting and enchanting at the same time.
