My son and I attended the Sunday matinee and had a very enjoyable afternoon. We especially liked the live orchestra and the wonderful dancing. We think almost anyone would enjoy the performance. Colorado Ballet never disappoints.
The ballet was beautifully executed and enjoyable. The precision with which the dancers moved their bodies was incredible. The orchestra was fabulous, and made for a very memorable day. The solos were great, but the choreography for the group dances was impressive as they all had to move together at the same time.
As a season ticket holder with San Francisco Ballet, I was dubious about seeing something as difficult as Don Q produced by a "regional" company. The dancing was excellent. I will definitely try to plan my trips around the Colorado Ballet schedule.
This is the first Don Quixote I've ever seen, and was happy to find what a rousing, non-stop experience it was. The performers, costumes and sets were top-notch, the live orchestra is wonderful, and the overall effect is pure enjoyment.
We very much enjoyed the ballet and the side show with Don Quixote cavorting with others on the side of the stage. Also, loved Sancho! Great show, great costumes ... didn't want it to end.
I am new to the ballet scene and was thoroughly entertained by Don Quixote. Dancers were excellent and the costumes were beautiful.
My Wife and I attended the Ballet Don Quixote and enjoyed every moment of it! We have to travel 70 miles one way to so we do not get to see as many of the Ballets as we would like to, but over the past 2 years have never been disappointed by the Colorado Ballet! We will attend the Nutcraker this year for sure, and we are going to try to get to more! Bravo to all the Dancers that bring such pleasure to us!!!
The Colorado Ballet never disappoints. The dancers were wonderful; a charming story, and the Ballet companies' orchestra adds to the overall experience.
Breathtaking. My daughter and I were truly holding our breath as the dancers glided across the stage and flew in the air. I know the rest of the audience was thoroughly engaged as near the end of the show there was a giggle of glee from a child that entire opera house heard and joined.
This is the second ballet I have been to and was truly amazed by the performance, as was my girlfriend who was going for the first time. The costume and set design were as vibrant as the dancing and musical score. It was a pleasure to take in the sights and sounds flowing within a very simple story punctuated by humor. A few interesting notes- Don Quixote himself is a very minor character in the production. In fact, he does not even dance. After reading the play bill, I learned the production has existed since the late 1800s, originating in Russia. This performance is really well suited for anyone- whether you're a first timer or not, younger or older audience, I believe you will enjoy Don Quixote.
It was a beautiful ballet. The maiden dream scene was breathtaking.
We enjoyed the characters, the costumes, the comical acting in some of the scenes, and most of all the amazing dance routines. My wife and I had a very, very basic lesson on ballet dance steps several years ago, so we can appreciate all the years of hard work ballet dancers have put into their performances, and all the talent they have in order to perform with such excellence.
Very well done as a ballet - actually very little to do with Don Quixote though enjoyable.
overall.......fabulous........the costumes, music and especially the dancers were as good as it gets.......nice venue, where there doesn't seem.to be a bad seat in the house......convenient parking, though a little costly........a wonderful experience we are ballet goers and thought this was great
We were treated to beautiful costumes, an elaborate set and an excellent production. The Colorado Ballet put on another stellar performance in Don Q. Don't miss Act III when the lead and principle dancers do their solos. Absolutely inspiring.
I thought the talent of the dancers was incredible. However, it did get a little repetitive by the 3rd act. I would have liked to have seen more of Don Quixote & his sidekick interacting with the dancers.
This was a sleeper, maybe just because we went on a Friday night. Seemed mostly uneventful. The live orchestra was great but the music was fairly boring and sounded very repetitious. Maria and Igor were great as always, but the whole ballet seemed to lack drama and spunk. Bring back "Dracula!!!"
The dancing was exquisite and the props made me feel like I was actually there!
We really enjoyed the Ballet. The performers did an excellent job as well as the orchestra. I plan on attending another Ballet in the near future!!
