This was the most memorable live performance I have ever seen.
He hasn't lost it at all. I was a little concerned about Colm singing songs other than his usual Broadway style, but we were pleasantly surprised. His voice is still as pure and beautiful as ever. And he's funny and entertaining too. Great show for those of you who love him.
We have seen Colm in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, Buffalo, NY and Ft. Lauderdale Florida. No matter what the theme of the show, it is impossible to walk away anywy but thououghly entertained! He is a MASTER!!!
Colm Wilkinson's concerts always end too soon. He is so versatile, and puts his heart and soul in every number. It doesn't matter what type of music is your favorite...blues, pop, rock, Broadway show tunes, Irish drinking songs...he will not disappoint, ever. We are already looking forward to his next concert.
Absolutely wonderful! I loved it! He sang just about everything that I hoped he would sing...and then some...and he looks fantastic! I hope UB Center for the Arts will continue to bring him back each year.
I attended the concert with my adult son and my aunt. We are all big fans of Phantom and Les Mis, but never realized what a versatile singer Colm Wilkinson is. He was absolutely extraordinary and funny too!
Great style, exceptional vocal range and a program that provided music made famous by Colm Wilkinson and tunes that are now even more memorable due to his vocalization and that of his two companions. Truly a marvelous evening...one to celebrate and hopefully inspire a return visit.
It was a fantastic concert! His voice is simply amazing, with a depth of human feeling that is not easy to find in a singer. He loves the blues, which is obvious by his own enjoyment when he sings things other than Broadway tunes. Every song was fantastic, the acoustics were outstanding, and it was a sheer joy to be there. I took my two children, and they were beyond thrilled, since they know his music from Les Mis, Phantom, and a disc of show tunes. He was completely enjoyable.
The show was amazing. I enjoyed the fact that he was able to poke fun at himself with the parody from Forbidden Broadway "It's too high".
MUSIC THAT YOU CAN LISTEN TO TIME AFTER TIME. WHAT A PERFORMANCE. HOPE TO SEE HIM PERFORM AGAIN.
Not what I expected. His voice is good, but the song selection left a lot to be desired. He also let two back up singer sing wayyyyy too much.
We certainly know Colm Wilkinson is a wonderful Broadway singer, but what blew us away was his ability to sing ballads, Irish drinking songs, rock & roll and not sound out of his element. Fun to see him pick up a guitar too. We enjoyed every song! The talent he has, combined with his easy welcoming style made it an evening we will long remember. Great sense of humor too! The others in the band and singers were also a talented bunch. Very impressive. The other thing that blew us away was that he saved his "signature song" for the very end of the concert and his pipes were still strong. Great, great concert!
While the concert was good -- realizing that Colm Wilkinson was a "rocker" from his youth, I did not expect primarily rock and roll songs. I wish his music had been more of an even variety of his broadway tunes as well as rock. I also thought that his back-up singers, while very good, were given too much time to showcase their talents.
Colm Wilkinson and his 2 lady singers played for 2 hours. Colm was funny, played a variety of songs and gracious to both the audience and his band mates. The show began with a hair raising performance of phantom and ended with Les Mis. What great 'bookends' for a fun-filled evening. Colm also was available for over one hour for a very long line of fans to either pose for a picture or sign a program, CD, etc. Fantastic show and just one great all-around talented singer and musician.
This was a second opportunity to see Colm in concert at the same venue and, again, he was magnificent. The addition of the two female performers didn't necessarily enhance the show. Every one was there to hear Colm's versatility.
