After being extended twice on Broadway, COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT aired as an HBO Special in April 2011. Comically channeling the demise of great world empires, Colin Quinn uses his "articulate brand of comedy" in taking audiences through an uproarious history of the world in 75 minutes. From his personification of Caesar as the original Italian mobster to his complaints about Ancient Greece and Antigone giving way to Costco and Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world's most powerful nations.
My wife and I saw Long Story Short on Sat evening. It was OK. My expectations were high as I like Colin Quinn's humor and respect Jerry's direction with the show. Don't get me wrong it was funny but I just expected more. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the show a solid 5.
My husband and I love to see comedy shows and it doesn't take much to make me laugh. This show was so bad that I walked out in the middle. Not funny at all.. Was more philisophical that funny and had weird blackout pauses.
Show was good- however, he could have been a little louder as I had an obnoxious loud "laugher" across from me and she made it difficult to hear lines.
The show was hilarious--we are still laughing recounting some of the lines. Quinn is amazing. He makes something so difficult seem so effortless. If you want a lot of good laughs, this show is for you.
Colin did a great job - and it was a good show. Not only was it very entertaining, but a very good job in telling of the "history" of the world with a different spin. However, there were sometimes where Colin mumbled or his voice was low - and thus became a little difficult to hear.
When it was over I immediately bought tickets to go again. It's just that good. To really appreciate this show...You must be a fast listener and you must be a thinking person --
Long Story Short was extremely clever and funny. It was very well written and produced. Quinn did a wonderful job portraying different cultures. The barbs did not leave any group out. French, English, Greeks,Arabs, Jews, all were touched upon in such a funny way. We enjoyed the one man show very much, and would recommend it to friends.
Colin worked it. Great job holding the audience for the entire show. Would recommend for Colin fans and newbies to his act.
This show was one of the best history lessons I have had in quite awhile.

Great overall. He is sometimes hard to understand, partly due to acoustics, but he also talks very fast.
This perfectly paced show is abosultely intelligently hysterical! The best commedy type show I have seen in at least the last decade. It is great to see Colin Quinn looking so great and thi smaterial is nothing shy of brilliant!
