Colin ranks with the very best

by Coffeehouse on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

I've loved Colin's music since high school, first seeing MOW on MTV. As a solo artist, he is an incredible guitarist. I'd be happy just listening to that, but his lyrics are just as creative & heartfelt. And his recent cover of Ray Davies? Wow! My husband & I try to catch Colin whenever he performs here, & it's always fun. He has a wonderful rapport with the audience, great humor, stories, and of course amazing music.

A conversation with an old friend

by EC on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Some musicians put on a show, with an emphasis on spectacle. Colin Hay is a storyteller and an evening with Colin is a bit like being within a documentary. Each song of Colin’s tells a story and between songs, Colin tells the stories behind the stories. And over the course of the evening, Colin weaves together a tapestry of stories that, taken together, (and with just a bit of reading between the lines) tell the story (or stories) of his life and career. And the beauty is that Colin doesn’t lay out his life in a linear fashion. Rather, he moves back and forth through time, just as one would when having a conversation with a dear friend. Which is exactly what the evening felt like, a meandering stroll of a conversation with an old friend. It was fun, funny, comforting, nostalgic, engaging, and felt like a continuation of a conversation from when you last saw him.

    Colin Hay hey Hey HEY!

by Julie on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

This was a wonderful night. Colin Hay's voice is amazing and his guitar skills are fabulous. My sister has seen him twice and told me I should go and I'm so glad I did. Between the incredibly heart wrenching songs, his stories filled the theater with laughter and applause. Thank you so much!

    A wonderful experience!

by Letitia on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Colin Hay is a wonderful musician and story-teller--it was a treat to hear him play in person. Amazing voice and talent, still going strong at 70 years old. Highly recommend this experience--especially if you can see him solo.

    The Genuine Article

by Geoff on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

I’ve never seen Colin Hay before, but I’ve always been a fan of his work. When I heard Colin was doing a solo show, I was really interested because there are few people who can hold their own alone on a stage. Colin did not disappoint; his voice was strong and effective as ever, his guitar playing was truly impressive (and a nice surprise), and his storytelling was genuine and, at times, funny as heck. I could have listened to his music and stories for days. If you haven’t seen Colin and you want a sure-fire show to experience, grab your friends and see this amazing artist!

    Fun show

by Hay on 3/25/24Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

As a musician for 20 plus years I felt connected to Colin more than just a fan of these songs. What I didn’t expect was the stories and they were so wonderfully told and were fun to hear. He’s a beautiful man and am little jealous of his life now. To go out and spread joy to people by being himself. If you get the chance go

Wanted to love it, but honestly did not

by Jenn on 3/23/24Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

The concert missed the mark. Honestly just kind boring. His voice is great. He seems kind. Just not enough of the popular songs and they came way too late in the show. It is his show and he obviously can do what he wishes, but the audience was way too sedate and disconnected because not much was recognizable

    Great music and some laughs

by Rory on 3/23/24Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

This was my first time to see Colin live. I’ve enjoyed his music for a long time, but never made it to a show. I was surprised that he told a lot of stories in between songs. His great Scottish sense of humor really came out. It was almost like getting a bonus comedy show.

by Entempsix on 3/19/24Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Had an awesome time at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall seeing Colin Hay. I’ve seen Colin in a free places up in DC but this was our first time here at our new home. Show was great, atmosphere and venue was amazing, audience was amenable…all around a great time.

Colin Hay is a National Treasure

by John on 3/19/24Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

He gives his audience what they want, and then some! It’s a deeply personal emotional experience watching Colin Hay sing his soul. Like a fine wine, his voice and skills have improved as time has gone by! Go see him any chance you get, you won’t regret or forget it!

    The voice is still Amazing!

by Michael on 3/18/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Great show. Acoustic show. I would have preferred that he had a band behind him. However, it did showcase his vocals, which are still mesmerizing. Colin has done an amazing job preserving his voice. My one disappointment was that he did not play all of his popular Men at Work songs. He did not sing It's a Mistake, which would have been perfect for an acoustic set. He did not play Be Good Johnny, which might not have worked. I would have preferred he left off one obscure song and played It's a Mistake. Beautiful voice.

    The Best!

by Audrey Edwards on 3/17/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

My goodness, it was so much more than I expected. He was phenomenal. (Plus, it also helped to be sitting right in front of him!). The only downside was the idiots in front of you that felt they needed to video by holding their phone a foot away from them that was in our viewing space. 🤬

Colin Hay was great. He played some great new songs and the classic men at work songs. Just a great night. I’d see him in concert again.
