About

True life transpires, and music results. Cold always documented memories and moments in song, etching them forever in diaristic lyrics, cinematic production, and airy guitars. Since their 1997 self-titled debut, the group fronted by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist SW consistently converted pain into poetry consumed by a legion of diehard fans affectionately dubbed, “Cold Army.” At the turn of the century, the band unveiled the seminal 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage, which went gold and yielded hits such as “Just Got Wicked,” “No One,” and “End of the World.” The 2003 follow-up, Year of the Spider, marked their highest chart position, bowing at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, receiving a gold certification, and spawning the smash “Stupid Girl” accompanied by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. 2005’s A Different Kind of Pain illuminated melodic strides to the tune of 37,000-plus copies sold first-week and a Top 30 debut. Meanwhile, 2011’s Superfiction continued this streak, crashing the Top 10 of the Top Rock Albums Chart upon arrival and extending a growing legacy. COLD ROCKS

by Cristen on 9/15/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

This was the 4th time I've seen them live and it was one of the best! Although they did play quite a bit of songs from their latest (and my least favorite, but still okay) album "The Calm that Killed the Storm," it sounded beautiful live. Scooter's voice makes every song my favorite. The second to last song was "Send in the Clowns," which I personally believe was not on the original set list, but that the band heard a several screaming fans (including myself) yelling for that song to be played and made an exception. They played a few others from "13 Ways to Bleed on Stage" including, "Sick of Man," and "Outerspace" and of course, the last song was "Just Got Wicked" - it absolutely rocked!!!! Other good songs included "Stupid Girl," and "Remedy" from "Year of the Spider." I highly recommend seeing them live if you haven't already.

Midnight To 12 was good. Taproot was hard to understand but still solid. Cold is the greatest band of all time.

    awesome weather

    by Danitzakan1 on 9/14/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

the bands were great towards the fans! It was a treat getting to see Scooter Ward perform twice in one night! The venue wasn't overcrowded so there was room to breathe and good food and drink prices at the pizza shop. An unforgettable evening.

    This show ROCKED!!!!!!!

    by Fenixx48 on 9/14/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

I have seen Taproot probably half a dozen times and thy never disappoint. Last nite was one of their better performances. Cold has been one of my all time favorite bands for years. I was sad when I heard they disbanded in 2005, but soooo happy theyre back together. It was the first time i saw them live and they sounded like they did not miss a beat. I was very impressed by both bands performances and hopefully they continue touring for a while. Hope to see both in the near future.

    Taproot all the way

    by awl32 on 9/14/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

I definitely enjoyed the show, although I am more than a little disappointed that Taproot didn't close. Cold is a good rock band with a decent following (probably why they were headliners). Either way, Taproot brings more energy, better musicianship, and just a flat-out more entertaining show. Croc Rock is a cool, intimate venue, and I've enjoyed every show I've seen there. The only reason I didn't rate 5 out of 5 is because Taproot > Cold =).

    Cold was FANTASTIC!

by Crystalson on 9/5/09The Fuel Room at Austin's Saloon and Eatery - Libertyville

I had never seen the band perform live before, and I was with a hardcore fan. We had a fantastic time seeing that band perform, and the venue was nice and small. We ended up front position center and could feel the sweat of the musicians. It was totally awesome. A MUCH recommended show, and I will hopefully see them again after this :)
