always a legendary experience, 2011 was an amazing year

    Another great year!

by Esteban13 on 5/22/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Possibly better than '10...if you've never been, go once and it will blow your mind. People say this year the lineup wasn't as good as 2010, but the experience was much better this year!

    What a lineup

by razzledazzlerose on 5/16/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Everyone should go to Coachella at least once in their life. It's truly an amazing experience. This year ran a lot smoother than last year, but the thing that bothered me and affected my time was the water situation. The filtered water thing sucked this year, it needs to go back to the way it was. They don't want us to get dehydrated, do they? :( Logistics aside, the bands were incredible. Go next year!!!

    Time of my life.

I would do it all over again right now if I could & I will for sure continue attending Coachella. That is all.

Everything I could have dreamed of and more.

by duprey27 on 5/9/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Definitely going back next year. Surprisingly food was good. Porta potties cleaned daily. Heineken beer was the only downfall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Arcade Fire, anyone?

by PastryNerd on 5/6/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

I will gladly put up with four days of port-a-potties again next year. Farmer's market? Light-up swing set? Roller rink?! Hell yes. And that's just the campground. Some of my favorite performances were the Chemical Brothers, Arcade Fire (one of the best shows I've ever seen), Crystal Castles, the Black Keys, Chromeo, the Bloody Beetroots, Two Door Cinema Club, Gogol Bordello,,, you get the picture. I've never experienced anything like Coachella. It's sort of like summer camp for grown ups. When was the last time you went skipping around in bare feet, eating a giant slice of watermelon and singing at the top of your lungs? Yeah, it's like that. Normal social expectations of adult behavior go out the window. Recommendations for next year, bring a shade structure to put over the tent, fill the cooler with as much ice as possible before leaving town ($10 a bag in the campground), possibly bring a camping shower, and bring warmer bedding for when the temperature drops like 50 degrees at night... oh, and bring my own fresh squeezed lemonade!

so much better than the shuttles

by Anonymous on 5/3/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

As long as you've got a designated driver in your crew, this is cheaper and more convenient than the shuttle packages. The parking is way closer to the concert stages (and of course, VIP area) than trudging all the way from the field where the buses park. Of course, you also have to have VIP tickets, so don't bother trying to use this parking pass without them. You'll have an even longer walk ahead of you.

I know Coachella is great for learning about up and coming bands, but my favorite part of the weekend was listening to the old bands like Duran Duran, Wire and Big Audio Dynamite. I was too young to hear them when they were originally out.

    Coachella = Amazing!!!

by abishop88 on 4/28/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

This was only my third trip to coachella music festival and I must say it did not disappoint. Each time I have been to coachella it has surpassed every expectation I have had. This year the Chemical Brothers, Steve Angello, and Kanye were my favorites. They absolutely slayed it. Not to mention the hundreds of other artists that put on fantastic performances as well. I am countin down the days til coach 2012 tickets go on sale.

    Mostly good

by mmh744 on 4/27/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Pros: Awesome shows, no trouble getting up front to see them. Fantastic lineup. Cons: Entering the festival and exiting was ridiculous. They had us walk around the whole festival before getting in. My feet were bleeding. You also can't carry your alcoholic drinks into the crowd. You have to keep them at the beer gardens.

One of the best festivals in the US. So many great bands in one great venue.

    Entire weekend rocked!

by HepKatzen on 4/26/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Awesome acts, great stages, jaw-dropping art, and happy shiny people. I was in aural confusion the entire time (so much music on multiple stages simultaneously), and it felt wonderful. Recommend highly!

    Coachella 2011 was perfection

by rillawafers on 4/26/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Each night was better than the night before, the crowd was full of good people and good vibes, the water stands had a lot of warmer water than I would have hoped but it was bearable.

leaving the parking lot could be better

by bremig on 4/26/11Empire Polo Club - Indio

Everything was awesome, the bands were great, the food was good, the lines to get in were short and easy to deal with. The only negative thing that happened, happened all three nights. The first night we could not get out until 3:30, so we made it a point to leave the festival an hour before the music ended to beat the traffic and we were still unable to get out of parking lots 14 and 15 because they did not open the gates. The lower ticket sales were evident in the amount of people walking around compared to last year.
