The show was amazing! I can’t wait to go see the next one
LOVED the show - very entertaining, but very disappointed to get to our first row seats in section 115 directly across from the stage and find that they had put seating on the floor on risers that completely blocked our view. Our seats weren’t sold as obstructed view seats. They were expensive tix and we paid as much as other people who could see the stage. Seats they put up on floor were not shown on seating map. Very disappointing.
We were not informed when we bought the tickets that we would have an obstructed view. Due to a light bar, we could not see the stage at all.
It was amazing how the stage setup accommodated all types of acts. The performances were professional and the artists spanned the legends and the new. We were able to see all the hot artists sitting across from us and it was surreal to see them all in one place. The show started and ended on time. I did not go to the outdoor venues because of the inconvenience of driving and traveling in Austin from the wristband site to the performance site which does not work for out of towners. But the show was enough in itself.
Not worth the money @ $370 a ticket because of the rude people allowed to go for food and drinks during the live performances. Also, the best live performances were outside the Moody Center on the Dodge Ram stage. Moody Center seats paid to watch 1/2 the show on screen. In my view, it is a better value to attend a live Grand Ole Oprey event and watch the CMT Music Awards on TV.
Was disappointed with the sound inside, disappointed that some of the people that I wanted to see were singing outside on stages. The stairs on level two were extremely steep and narrow. It definitely lost its touch for country music.
Country music award shows has been the only award shows where viewers don’t have to be subjected to politics and someone pushing their social agenda. This ended when Kelsea Ballerini conducted her protest against the proposed drag Queen laws. Protest on your own time. I don’t want to view your protest or pay to see it. My last attendance at this event.
Outrageous concession prices 2 drinks 2 pretzels $70 that is just ridiculous won’t be back.
Almost $1000 for my wife and I to attend? The taped portions were only worthwhile if seen live, which we did Wednesday in addition to the awards. Concessions must have been happy in addition to the parking garages. Live entertainment was fun, but we won't be paying to see next year's CMT Awards.
Attending the CMT was a first for me… And it will be a last!
Performances were great. Directions on getting into event, what lines were for what areas were very confusing. We were very disappointed in some of the acts not being in the arena; we were led to believe we would see all the performers live. At one point while trying to watch an act on the big screens the crew came over the load speakers to say they would be using blowers to clear the stage. It was very disrespectful towards the performers.
1st time ever going to an awards show, wife and I had a blast seeing all these performers it was a great show.
It was easy, it was fun, music and talent great! Tickets were a bit hard to get and would love to see a RED Carpet!
Overall the CMT awards show was a great experience! They had crowds diverted to different doors to avoid super long lines or standing around forever. The attendant inside of the portals were very helpful in finding seats and using their flashlights to aid when it was dark. Overall, it was a great experience! Hopefully the CMT awards will be here next year. I will definitely go again!
Loved all the live performances especially the tribute to Gary Rossington and Lynyrd Skynyrd
Such a great experience and was amazing seeing it in live!
This was the worst experience I have ever had attending any kind of concert, taping, music venue. I don't know if the blame falls on Moody Center, CMT, City of Austin or what. The traffic situation was a nightmare. almost every street was closed off, designated drop points for Uber, Limos, etc were closed off. When arriving, we had to walk almost a mile to get into the line, then when we left - we could not get any type of ride service - they stated they could not get to us an di was even charged by them - we walked back to our hotel the 3 miles after standing in line and for the concert for a total of 7 hrs. Waited in line was MAYBE 30 people from the front of the line - they were late ever letting us enter the venue, then we get to the FLOOR and around every stage was already packed? How was that possible? Then, you have one restroom and you have to try and shove your way thru people to get to, as well as any type of beverage.
First of all, the amount of communication prior too Sunday was terrific. Links to advance purchase parking, maps to the garage and road closures made access to Moody easy. Being provided specific time-lines, a “dress code”, as well as, the clear bag policy in advance helped too. However, there could have been better signage -at the venue, on the queueing lines, as it was chaotic with the way the lines converged at the entrance…which was a complete cluster (mostly due to frustrated people in wrong lines). The arena is great, although for this event the 212 section had obstructed views -which should have been disclosed prior to- due to the lighting suspended from the ceiling. The only view was of the center performance area and that was hardly utilized during the actual show. Sound was quality was awesome. As this was a long day, and food vendor lines were long and slow, it would have been nice if the vendors had stayed open serving food longer than 6:30 ish. That they continued to sell beer/water shows a willingness, just misplaced on what was needed. As for the show, it was entertaining. I get the need to always improve but to continually promote inclusiveness of non-country fans and non-country genres but was really confused the performing talent when there was so much country talent actually in the building. Also, the nightly concerts, on Congress, were really nice and generated a lot of buzz leading up to the actual show. Finally, the downside was how off-putting it was that every effort was made to announce inclusiveness of women, LBGTQ, trans, drag and others not presenting as straight males. To make sure to mention everyone group specifically and not mention straight males is actually not very inclusive. And no, it is not just understood straight males are included. And no, it is not “get back time” to gang up men for past perceptions who may have created, controlled and made the CMT or genre what it is today. I, and many other men present, did ask out loud if of our entertainment spend or participation is even welcomed by the CMT, -their- community (who ever that is, now) or the performers. Overall it was a great event. Hopefully this generates a little more buzz for Austin to be included for more concerts and shows. Kudos to the team that actually planned the event. As for the team booking talent and guiding the narrative, maybe they could do better to really be inclusive. And yes, my feelings count just like every other group gets to be heard and have their feelings count. Thanks again CMT’s!
All was great until politics and drag queens came into play. I pay for events to go and enjoy them not to become a captive audience for someone to use their status as a platform for their political views. Disappointed in Shania and Kelsey both for doing this. Politics should be left totally out in venues such as this.
Everything was executed well. Very organized for such a big crowd. Hopefully cmt will come back to moody center.
