About

The CMA Awards is Country Music's Biggest Night™, hosted in the heart of Music City! The first "CMA Awards Banquet and Show" was held in 1967. The following year, the ceremony was broadcast for the first time - making it the longest running, annual music awards program on network television. The CMA Awards have aired on ABC since 2006.

Each year, The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the industry professional members of the Country Music Association, which when established in 1958, became the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music. All balloting is tabulated by the professional services organization, Deloitte.

    Friendly suggestions

by Cynthia on 11/11/23Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The performers and music were wonderful. I had a lot of problems with the lighting. There were spotlights on the audience to rival the sun itself. As far as I could see everyone around me covered their eyebrow with one hand the entire event. (section 330). The teleprompter on our side had a huge black box right it front of its center so you couldn’t see the facial closeups. Since the stage was divided in half I wondered how people on either side could view the opposite side. Most of the beginning of the show was darkly lit like a smoke screen. I went to a bar later to watch the show again and it was so much better on tv.

    Underwhelmed

by Jkaz on 11/11/23Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The seats are very far. I could not see much without the screen, and if I wanted to watch on a TV screen I could stay home. We got super dressed up and we actually could have worn sweatpants and winter jackets since the arena forgot it wasn't hockey that night and blasted the 20 degree cold air for 3 straight hours. I was a popsicle when the show was over. I was surprised lots of our country music favs were NOT there this year. It wasn't a horrible experience, it just fell short of my expectations. The idea of attending the CMAs was better than actually attending.

    Not worth the money

by Kelly on 11/11/23Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The venue was not good at all. Being up high was not so bad except there was no video or screen for us. Very very disappointing and everyone was saying the same thing. I could see two small screens for the other side but the overhead lights were in the way.

    Terrible Experience

by Mr Happy on 11/11/23Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Paid a ton of money for nosebleed seats. Couldn’t see the stage, couldn’t see the video screens, and had a spotlight in my face the entire show. Never again.

    Could be better

by CanadianGirl on 11/11/23Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

CMA presale only released nose bleeds - bought nosebleeds to learn that LATER that some lower bowl was released… sound up top was not great! Couldn’t hear performers when they went up to the mic. Performance sound was great. Jumbo screens were ridiculous and not at all helpful for nosebleed tickets. Couldn’t see much on the screen. Lighting on the screen was obstructive to us being able to see performers on the stage. One whole stage was placed with its back to us… expensive mediocre experience offered. That’s for sure! The show itself & performers was awesome. Wish I brought binoculars.

    Overall good experience

    by K. D. on 11/17/22

This was my first CMA and 2nd award show. Managed to glimpse some Red Carpet arrivals before having to get in the long line to enter, but made it inside for some food and drink before the show started. Although I was on the barely affordable 3rd deck, luckily was near a mostly visible screen. Was able to see the stages, but wish I had brought opera glasses. Glad I brought a light jacket, it was chilly. Very enjoyable show, Luke and Peyton did great. Nice to see such a good variety of established Country artists like Carrie, Miranda, and Reba along with newer ones like MW, Thomas Rhett, Cole, etc. Watching all the celebs clap and interact was also nice. Not sure if I would do it again, depends if my favs are nominated, even better if they could actually win the awards they deserved.

worst $300 seats ever, Lighting design ruined the experience

    by Matt on 11/14/22

In Section 301, flood light placed 15 feet away on the rail was blinding us the entire show. The two small screens above the stage were blocked by the main light rig and I was only 4 rows from the bottom of the bowl. Rows above me I'm sure were worse. Going back and watching the broadcast, those upper sections were never on camera and the flood lights were pointless. At least the sound was good, but for $600 my couch is a much better experience.

    Sho was good

by Mrralph on 11/14/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The performers were all outstanding, Patty loveless and Chriss Stapleton was out of this world good. The main distraction was that the spotlights were continuously panning the crowd making it difficult and sometime impossible to see.

    Best ever

by Mike H on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Loved the show. Loved the tributes. I did miss people like Jason Aldean, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Eric church, etc performing. Did like the new talent. There is a changing of the guard so to speak.

    Interesting Experience.

by Alex on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

So definitely go early. The doors open at 530 and be sure you are in line because it will legit stretch around the block. The tickets I bought were in the 101s at around 8-900 a person. To be honest I wish I had spent more and gotten closer. Because the stage is pushed back you’ll be watching the tv screens most of the time. Over all great experience. It’s not a terrible idea to bring binoculars. Be sure to get your drinks or bathroom breaks before or during longer commercial breaks because you can’t get back in during the line taping. I loved how every one was dressed to the 9s for the most part. The staff was super accommodating. If you have a small regular purse you can bring it just be sure that the line to check them will be long. We weren’t able to watch the red carpet to see any up close celebrities because we needed to get in the entrance line. So keep in mind if you want to see the red carpet you might miss the start of the show. Nashville as a whole was awesome. A lot of the roads will be blocked off so expect to walk even in formal attire.

    Put up some screens

by Visitor on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Bridgestone needs to consider the nose bleed section - put up some bigger screens for heavens sake. The 2 postage stamp screens that had obstructed views were pathetic. Was a letdown of what should have been a great experience.

    Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

    by Faithfulmomof3 on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Having never had the privilege of being at the CMA Awards ceremony previously and only having watched it on television in the past, I was not sure what to expect. But boy oh boy, did the ceremony surpass my expectations! Everything from the incredibly gorgeous stage, to the fantastic live performances, to our seats was just magnificent! It was also neat being there in person as you got to see what goes on behind the scenes! If you have the chance to attend you need to!

Great event, mediocrity facility, terrible dress code

by Big Fan on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Don't tell people it's a black tie/formal attire event when they will be sitting in the upper tier of a sports arena eating a hot dog and drinking a tall boy from the concession stands.

    CMA 2022

by Kj on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Very hard to see. They only have the 2 screens going on each side of the stage. Which are blocked by the unused big screen and lightening not being used. It’s like watching from heaven thru all the camera lighting. Sounds I horrible you cannot hear. I recommend stay home to watch it, but if you don’t mind spending big money to check it off your bucket list like we did- then do it✔️

    CMA Awards

by Otis on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Overall experience was very pleasant. The only reason i did not give a 5 star was because im old school and have keepsakes. I still like to scrapbook.

    Not the best

by GJ on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

I’ve been to 3 other CMA award shows and I would rank this one at the bottom. The show content was a bit weak for my likings. Also our seats were prettt far from the stage and our view to the two tiny “Jumbotron” screen were both blocked by rigging. So we watched most of the show from the sound booth screens in the back. Sound was not loud enough either. Difficult to hear the cast talking die to those around us talking. Performances were just ok for me.

    Amazing show

by Colleen on 11/13/22Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

So pleased to see the glamorous way people were dressed. It shows respect to all the talented artists that were honored. I hope in a changing world we can continue that style. Thank you CMA’s for a terrific evening.
