Clybourne Park: Fun, But No Picnic

by ClassAct62 on 5/13/13Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Great performances by all actors. Great quality lighting, set and costumes. Witty script offers biting commentary on race relations with plenty of laughs combined with squirm-in-your-seat dialogue. The night I attended I noticed a young child in the audience with her parents; not sure if they were aware of the language going in, but the play is inappropriate for young children. And I may be thick-headed, but I did not understand the ending scene. It was dramatic and well-done, but I'm not sure what it meant!

Extremely well done, humerous but powerful. Strongly recommended.

The best thing about this play is that it isn't dated. The content will always be appropriate. The actors were great.
