Very enjoyable family fun event. Go support MLS its a blast.
As far as I could tell, Home Depot Center does not have a bad seat to watch soccer or any other event. The field is very close and as a result, it is amazing to see how fast these guys can run with a ball in control. A few balls were even kicked into the crowd to the fans delight. The angle of the seating stands allows one to easily see above the person sitting in the row below you (unlike Staples Center). HDC is also way better than the Coliseum to watch a sporting event because of the proximity to the field and the amenities. It is also better than the Rose Bowl because the seats and aisles between seats allow for more easier travel to get up and down and head off to the concession vendors. As such, it is easy to move around in the facility and the restrooms were accessible and were not crowded. You can also relax while standing to watch the game in a concourse area without interfering with anyone else's view of the field. The food could be better but fairly expensive anyway so eat at home and there are not too many souvenir type items for sale. But be prepared, a Chivas Jersey is expensive! (Adults about $75, kids $50; credit cards accepted however). Beer, soda, etc. prices seemed fairly reasonable. The Chivas and its fans rock! Chivas won 2 - 0. Great replay big screen scoreboards. The sound system is loud however and be prepared to have difficulty holding a conversation at times. Felt very safe despite crowd rowdiness. Clearly, nothing like attending an English Football match but no one wants to catch on fire, be pinned up against a fence or get into a fight! (At least not when you are toting around the children to the match!) But the parking is a hastle as we were directed to park very far away and had to walk almost a mile to the HDC and it still cost $15 to park. Still felt safe walking on the college campus however. All and all a very fun time and the Ticketmaster email tickets with scanning capability worked flawlessly at the Gate. Will go again.
I've always thought of what it would be like to be able to stand with hundreds of people supporting thier teams. Or just being there without rooting for a team sounded like so much fun. i dont know much about soccer but i still enjoy watching it. it has always been done on t.v....until the day my older brother bought us (younger brother and myself) tickets. I knew nothing of who to root for, all teams are good, i think. "i like the galaxies color maybe i'll root for them, no, the chivas jersies would look cool if i wore it maybe i'l root for them' i would say to myself. suddenly, i see great big smiles and i eliminate this feeling for the need to have a team. My brothers were my team. We won, being able to sit in an actual game that was being recorded and i wasn't home watching it, no, i was there! it was a splendid experience, overall.
This was my first prof socceer game. Took my son and grandson and one of my sons highschool friends. Enjoved it very much. Liked the venue--smaller and more intimate than other major league sports. A very entergetic crowd--wow. I'll be back.
The sits were great and the whole atmosphere was awesome. I would buy tickets again.
Great seats, great weather, but what a horrible referee. There wasn't as many people as I expected but the ambiance was still awesome. The referee ruined the game by calling offside on two of San Luis' goals.
I don't really follow MLS or either team but it was a great game. It was my first time at the Home Depot Center and I had a really good seat facing midfield. The fans were awesome...especially the Chivas fans. They made it very festive. It's a great event to bring along family and friends. I think next time I'll do valet parking or get there earlier for better parking.
The game was great. The seats were awsome. And the best price. Chivas USA knows how to make a great game, and the chanting fans too. You must go to a Chivas Usa game if you know good soccer.
I took a friend and he is sold! great Game, I am a Galaxy fan =)
When I arrived inside the HDC I immediately went to get a beverage and two hotdogs. There was maybe 3 ahead of me in line. It took me over 15 minutes to get my order, and probably 10 from the minute I gave my order until I received it. The person that took my order didn't know how to ring it up, and had to get help from a person who in turn needed to get a supervisor to get this done. Since I am a Galaxy season seat holder I know this is far from the way things are supposed to be done, and are done. When it was all done there was not even a 'sorry' for the wait from anyone. Very poor service and I am greatly disappointed.
WE TOOK OUR KIDS TO SEE CHIVAS VS. GALAXY AND IT WAS PRETTY AWESOME. MY DAUGHTER AND I LOVE TO WATCH DELAGARZA, HE'S OUR FAVORITE ON GALAXY. MY SON THINK'S LANDON DONOVON IS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS AROUND. IT'S A GREAT WAY TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR KIDS AND ENCOURAGE THEIR LOVE OF SOCCER. I RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR KIDS TO A GAME. THE HOME DEPOT CENTER IS A GREAT PLACE TO WATCH A GAME.
It was a great game, we really enjoyed out time there...The home depot center is an excellent place to watch a soccer game, seats were great too!!
I highly recommend going to the game with friends or family I went with my wife, daughter & my son we all enjoyed the game lots of fun & also lots to do inside (interacting with others).
The stadium is smaller than others, which is better because even if you purchase cheaper tickets..you still have a pretty good view of the game. The game was great. It was an amazing one,...but it was entertaining and the crowd was very alive with chanting and songs.
The game was very exciting, especially because this was the first time for me to attend a live soccer game. Originally, this was a gift for my dad for Fathers Day, but unfortunately his team lost...GO CHIVAS USA!!!!
I have been to the Home Deport Center as a guess. However this is the first time I bought tickets on my own to take my family and friend. It was the first time for our friend to go to a game at the home depot or to a professional soccer game. He enjoyed the game and watching the fans with their passion for their team. We are planning to attend a another game before the season is over.
It was a great venue with good seats! The cotton candy was ridiculously expensive *$5* but other then that, it was really fun! High energy fans!
First time attending a MLS game and it was fantastic. Plan to attend another game in the near future.
First game at the Home Depot Center and it was really a great time. I look forward to attending a game in the future!!
Great atmosphere. Great fans. Great passion from all around. It is quite noisy with the kids all blowing those "moose" horns. Of course, in a rival match - there is much less beautiful soccer, and, more physical and strong play on the field, and PLENTY of on-field theatrics! It is greato see soccer in a soccer-specific stadium. And, the Home Depot Center Stadium is one of the best in SoCal. Now, if they can just improve considerably on the quality of food sold there.
