CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:
Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

For fans of real country music Clint Black provides an enjoyable evening of songs, stories, and memories. His Texas twang harkens back to the sound of Hank Snow, but his modern stylings keep him in the middle of today's country sounds. And what an amazing range of sounds and moods! When you settle in for an evening with Clint Black get ready to immerse yourself in pure country.
So nice to be able to see such a legend only 15 min from home!!
It was a great night with the wife. Had lots for fun, great music and laughed..
The evening was extraordinary. The setting was intimate and truly a once in a life time opportunity.
Clint Black was amazing. He was so personal with the audience. He and the band sounded great. I love that his wife Lisa came to sing one song with him it was beautiful!!
It was a perfect evening at a beautiful auditorium. His opening act Haley & Michaels was very good and I am looking forward to hearing more from them. Clint was very good and funny too and sang so many of his great songs. He also plays a mean harmonica. The highlight was when his wife came out and sang a songs with him. Lisa is so beautiful and has a voice to match. I am looking forward to seeing them again.
The concert was fantastic! You felt like it was just friends sitting down talking and singing together instead of a concert where you need TVs to see what is going on stage. My 85 year old hard of hearing mother enjoyed the concert also. She could understand everyone of the lyrics and music.
My husband has an extensive bucket list of artist that he wants to see. When I saw that Mr. Black was going to be in town, we jumped on the oppertunity. The tickets were fairly priced (something we could afford on a limited income) and it was a very intimate and relaxed setting. Mr. Black did a great job. He was funny, entertaining and when he started to sing a few Willy Nelson songs, almost sounded better than the man himself.
The show was great. Clint Black is such a charismatic performer. The venue was so intimate that it felt like he was singing to me.
Clint Black was timeless as ever.....Funny!!!! Who knew he was so Silly! However.....FUDDY-DUDDY of a crowd. The only time the stood up, was when Lisa came out. I think that was almost even forced!!! Nothing stopped my Sister-in Law and I. We had great seats and enjoyed ourselves!!! Beautiful venue, nice weather, good music, but an over the hill crowd.
Aside from his superior writing and musical talent - he is such a humorous and nice guy. Wished he would put out a dvd of his current concert!!!
I enjoyed just Clint Black and his guitar and his jokes!
nice and calm show. not a party atmosphere which is what i like about it
Bad concert, not enough of his good hits, take away the Western swing, not good music
Seen him maybe 7 or 8 times in the last 15 years and it's absolutely true ! he gets better and better with age. If you like Country music and a true entertainer do not miss him if he comes to your town!
Clint started the show off by himself playing four or five songs before band came out, sound was great. When the band came out for the remainder of the show much of the sound was taken up by the bass player. Way too much bass. Clint is a fantastic guitar player, too bad it was over shadowed by the bass.
the music was great. clint black has such a personality. enjoyed it very much.
I've always enjoyed Clint Black's music for it's traditional flavor and feel. I was very disappointed that the show did not include steel guitar or a fiddle; which his recorded music is (in my mind's eye) known for containing. Don't get me wrong, Clint remains an accomplished talented musician. I was just expecting more from the accompaniment. As I told my wife, "This is the first Country concert that I have attended that did not have a fiddle" If I were ever to attend his concert again, it would be assured that a full band was present.
From beginning to end Clint engaged the audience. He seemed very humble and down to earth. The only thing that I can even begin to say was a negative is the fact that it was too short of a show!
