About

The sophomore full-length from Clairo, Sling is an album with its own charmed atmosphere, graced with the easy warmth of a far lovelier era but wholly the outcome of her bright & restless mind. In creating the body of work, the 22-year-old co-produced alongside Jack Antonoff, recording at Allaire Studios in Upstate New York. As Clairo reveals, Sling’s lyrical element was largely informed by the adoption of her dog Joanie. “When I got Joanie, I started changing my routines & habits to healthier ones, to try to create an environment where she felt comfortable & happy, It made me realize I hadn’t been doing that for myself, & that I need to look at myself with the same respect that I’d give to someone I care about.” Several tracks feature background vocals from Lorde, “Blouse” offers a meditation on the degrading behavior of men in power. “I think a lot of people know that feeling of having to compromise a part of yourself in order to be heard, you finally get to where you’ve hoped to be for so long, & there’s just this guy looking down your shirt.” Her sophomore album, Sling provided countless moments of revelation for Clairo. While a number of guest musicians contributed to the album’s arrangements, most was handled by Clairo & Antonoff. The result is a perfect setting for Clairo’s songwriting, allowing abundant space for her nuanced exploration of mental health, unmet expectations, and the struggle to treat ourselves with gentleness and love

    Great experience

by AJMod on 7/29/22History - Toronto

This was my daughter's first concert and in her own words "this was the best night ever" Clairo is a wonderful preformer and such a great role model for teens!

such an intimate, stress-free concert and of course so fun!

by emma on 7/28/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

The tickets were a great deal considering how close we were to the stage and the venue was awesome. We only had to wait 2 hours in line for GA to still be super close to the stage, which is a benefit to a smaller venue. The performance was great and it was not overcrowded and leaving was super easy. 10/10

Best show ever BUT the merch was cash or credit only which we were not told until we stood in line for like half an hour. Otherwise, amazing show

The concert itself was amazing but the crowd not so much

by Unknown on 7/25/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

The crowd towards the front of the venue was extremely pushy and rude. I was with a friend who has diabetes and after purchasing merchandise she was trying to get back to the front with us to get her insulin bag and fans would not let her through.

Rock concert ended before 10pm on Saturday

by Red on 4/20/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

Tickets said 8pm start and we got there at 8:40 thinking we’d be seeing Widowspeak (the opener) but no, it was Clairo and they were done by 9:50 and no encore… been to 1000 concerts and never had opener start within hour of start time nor end before 10. Is the new normal?

Songs that I didn’t necessarily look foreword to hearing were 10x better live and the ones I did want to hear were even better live! Great sound!

Oh! It was amazing, such a good vibe going on there!!

by Tori on 4/20/22House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

It was great. Tho it didn't have Widowspeak as one of their crew had Covid, and so the concert started at 8:50pm. The venue was clean and organized. It had all of the protocols necessary for Covid, but most of the fans/people at the concert didn't wear a mask :( But Claire was amazing, it was just like hearing her on Spotify.

clairo was great. tabernacle messing things up

    by bad_tabby on 4/19/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

been going to tabernacle shows for 10+ years and was surprised to see how wildly different this one was. for what it's worth Clairo and her band were great. A few things not so great: 1. new bag check policy. this must be new and is ok if it's well publicized but it was not communicated to ticket holders at all. we arrive to find out we can't go in with our purses and there are no lockers available. we had to uber home and back (60 minutes) to drop the purse off, causing us to miss the show. 2. show started super early. it was indicated that show was at 8 and 1 opener. i would assume (because why would they tell us) that this means opener at 8 and headliner at 9. the headliner started at around 830. 3. the bar closed before the show ended 4. the new "no screenshots" thing was a huge pain. the TM app wouldn't let me transfer my tickets so i just sent a screenshot. the ticket scanners said this wouldn't work, so i had to leave the show to let my friends in. when trying to peek out the door to see where my friends were in line, i was yelled at not to go back out. overall the staff and new policies at the tabernacle just seemed to lack common sense and lost all element of humanity. bummer. clairo was great though.
