Cirque Shanghai: Dragon’s Thunder” is a spectacle for audiences of all ages, featuring performers direct from China who are leaders in their craft of tumbling, juggling, balancing and more. This year’s production features an incredible line up of awe-inspiring acts, including “The Chinese Flex Bar,” the heart stopping “Gravity Swings,” and the awesome sounds of the traditional Chinese “Dragon Drums.” Back from last year’s show is the fate tempting “Wheel of Destiny,” and China’s finest daredevil motorcycle troupe, “Imperial Thunder,” returns with not two, not four, but five motorcyclists riding at break-neck speeds within a steel globe.
I was amazed and baffled by these amazing acrobatic tricks. It was beautiful and death defying.
Great show at an affordable price. Excellent location at Navy Pier. Fireworks following the show just enhanced the evening.
Went for a celebratory weekend with my husband, sis, bro-in-law and all of the group were impressed, wowed, amused - overall thoroughly an enjoyable event and worth the cost. Purchased gold circle seating and had front and center 11th row and could not have been more pleased with the performances, ease of getting to our seats, everything went along so smoothly. Performers were amazingly agile and had you wondering "how did they do that". They really seemed to enjoy what they do and conveyed this in their eye contact with the audience. Costumes were bright, elegant, some amusing and joyful. Try it, you'll love it!
My Husband and I took our (2) children 15 and 25 with us for our 26th anniversary. We all enjoyed ourselves - the costumes were amazing and the talent was explosive!!!
The show was impressive - amazing acrobatics and feats I could never dream of doing. Unfortunately getting to Navy Pier on a Saturday evening for an 8pm show took over 45 minutes just to park - we were over 20 minutes late to the show. The show was great but the venue awful - I'd never try to drive there again.
Family Fun. Younger childern will enjoy. Older kids maybe not so much.
This was an entertaining event. O is better, but this is a lot cheaper. All the seats are good seats.
I would go again to this fantastic show in a heartbeat. The acts were stunning with their agility and grace. They even reached out to the audience with a couple of acts and they were great. The show moved along so very quickly it seemed that we just sat down to watch and it was finished and we were having to leave. What a wonderful show for all ages to see and enjoy!!!!
The performers were wonderfully entertaining, aqnd my friends and I had a wonderful time.
The performers in Cirque Shanghai were amazing! The show has no special effects and relies simply on the talent of its performers to entertain, and do they ever! The acrobats will amaze you!
The artistry that was Cirque Shanghi was wonderful. The colors and the precision was amazing. I would recommend this for anyone who loves the circus
This year's show was even better than last year. The acrobatics are amazing and the colorful costumes are like eye candy. It was a lot of fun.
My wife and I loved it. Even my kids, 14 and 17, loved it. Very exciting and kept all of us on the edge of our seats. We've seen several Cirque shows and this was right up there with the others. A great time!
We really enjoyed Cirque Shanghai. It was fast moving, well done and great entertainment for all ages. 1 1/2 hours was the perfect length for this production. The audience gave them a standing ovation at the end.
This was the third Cirque performance I've been to and by far it was the worst! The music was terrible and the acts were very "unpolished"---timing and movements off, peformerrs stumbling through---overall very poor choreography...We expected more from a Chicago performance. The only good thing was the cheap tickets.
Liked the show 3 years ago (?) "Year of the Dragon" better. Wife also says this one is less sophisticated. This is a great show. The kids are unbelievable. BUT the show 3 years ago was "greater", somehow better. One example was the part with the chairs (3 yr. ago) going STRAIGHT up and higher and higher with a girt on top.....awesome ! Great show, less awe inspiring, but........recommended.
I had never been to anything like this before. The entertainers were fabulous, you can tell they work very hard. Loved every minute of it!
Beautiful, magical show...stunts that will leave you holding your breath!
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was no cirque. My friend and I felt this is where the older and no longer wanted Cirque de Soile performers go. Clearly there is a reason the tickets were so reasonable. It wasn't as fine tuned a show as I was expecting. With this said, I still feel it would be a good show for children.
This show was highly entertaining, filled with moments of amazing feats. The acrobatic performers are extremely talented, making the various stunts and acts amazing to watch. Both children and adults will enjoy this show.
