After completing its first summer in New York City and wowing over 500,000 guests, Zarkana™ by Cirque du Soleil® is returning to Radio City Music Hall for the Summer of 2012!
This epic spectacle plunges audiences into a fantastically twisted world where international artists perform highly-acrobatic feats, heightened by original live music. Be there as Zarkana transforms the grandest stage in the world into a world of unreality as only Cirque du Soleil could imagine.
Zarkana is an acrobatic rock opera that blends circus arts with the surreal to create a world where physical virtuosity rubs shoulders with the strange.
The story follows Zark, a magician who has lost his powers - and the love of his life - in an abandoned theatre populated by a motley collection of off-the-wall characters and incomparable acrobats. He runs into the Mutants, four sirens as sinister as they are fabulous, who are determined to divert him from his quest.
Zarkana is a visual vortex set in a slightly twisted musical and acrobatic fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to festivity and love regained.
Another total spectacular from Cirque du Soleil. I would definitely go again as there was so much to see I'm sure I've missed something. Amazing show.
The show was pretty amazing. Very artistic yet inspiring to watch. Funny at times as well. All in all a great show.
From the music to the the juggler, the sand art, the acrobats, the overall show was another great cirque experience.
AMAZING!! Wonderful show! Great for all ages. Great prices.
This was not the greatest performance by Cirque Du Soleil. We have seen them a few times and this was the weakest one. If you are looking for the "amazing" acrobatic acts, find something else. The few acts were good but not enough of them. Too much singing and TOO MUCH time taken up by the clowns.
I would recommend this show to all ages. The troupe members that entertain in the beginning and through set changes are priceless and you can understand them no matter what language you speak. They use nonverbal cues and body language very well! The show itself has some palm-sweating acts that will have you gripping your seat and very impressive acts of talent and eccentricity, exactly what Cirque de Soleil is all about! A few minor mistakes but still a great show!
Amazing, incredible, great, fantastic, wonderful!!! If u have not seen it, u are missing a great show, a need to see for New Yorkers, & tourist!!! A wow show!!! Xoxoxo
Show was good and had some amazing acts, but did not make my top 10 list for Cirque shows. Seemed very short for the price. Great venue - however, did not like that people arriving late were seated once show started. This was very disrupting to those of us who did arrive on time and took away from the performance. Disappointed that there was not a music CD for this show. Loved the background performers in white - would have liked to have them listed with the other performers in the program. Costumes for the different acts were not as spectacular as I have come to expect from the Cirque. Story line was not clear from performance alone. Having read the website, I got the just - but would have missed it if I had not read about the show.
Great show, not to be miss my next is going to be TOTEM in boston, mass.
The show was amazing and the venue was great where I think no matter where you sit you can enjoy the event!!
It was too short, I was left feeling unsatisfied. It was more of a musical circus tahan an actual circus performance. Every scene had a different setting which was hard to follow. There could have been more stunts instead of all the balancing acts.
This show made no sense! A bunch of random acts that didn't tie in to any theme or cohesive story. Clowns that were not funny and only did simple cheap tricks that might be funny, if your 5 yrs old. This show is only for those who are very easily amused. Definitely NOT worth the money.
I saw La Nouba in Orlando, Florida twice. Loved it. This show was more on the stage then in the air but it did not detract from being amazing. The voices were very clear I just wish I understood French (I believe that was the language)
Best show I ever went to!! Amazing in every way!! Would absolutely recommend seeing it!
I took my wife for her birthday and we were amazed at how great it was. Its a must see you will not be disappointed.
My jaw was on the floor the entire time because of the wonder and spectacular of the show. My fiancé described it best as epic.
staging & props excellent! so colorful and music great.
- the juggler dropped the balls - the flag guy dropped the flag - the acrobat fell (nothing serious, but he was the only one not only on another's shoulders) - the whole thing was brilliant for my 9 & 7 year-old girls, but to me it was just a circus without the animals.
The Cirque was great. I can not believe I waited so long to go. Actually I can't wait until my son is old enough to take. The acrobats, the fly guys and the guys on the crazy will were breath taking. I think the only down side was I could understand the lyrics of the songs.
I saw some cirque du soleil shows in Las Vegas which impressed me a lot. So, when I heard there is a show here in NYC, I buy the ticket without hesitating. However, I was disappointed by the show, it's not as good as those in Vegas. I will recommend those cirque du soleil shows in Vegas, but not the one here in NY.
