The show was fun and exciting but not as good as previous Cirque du Soleil's. However, and as always i would always recommend people to watch a Cirque du Soleil event.

Quidam was amazing! I've seen several Cirque shows, all amazing, and this maintained that excellent standard. I highly recommend seeing it!

Wanted to leave after 15 minutes

by Squidam on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

I can only take 10 minutes of people spinning in hoops and ropes. Even all the kids in the audience were bored stiff

    Quidam - very average

by tpc616 on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

I am a Cirque du Soleil fan, having watched over 10 different shows - between travelling troupes and stationed ones in LV. There are 2 problems with Quidam: (a) none of the acts are original and wowed me, and (b) most of the seats are further away from the stage in an oversized pavilion like HP Pavilion, even compared to the worst rows in a big top tent.

    Wow, talk about strong

by Calicowgirl on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

This was my first time seeing a Cirque Du Soleil. A lot of the characters were odd and some, who knows why they were there. But it was mouth dropping to see how strong the people are. Able to hold themselves up with one arm and the girls on the rings. Crazy. I would definately go to another showing. I just wish that we could take pictures or video, but they wouldn't let us :(

    I MISS THE TENT

by Heartspeak106 on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

The show was amazing but missed the intimacy of the tent. Too far (from any seat) to clearly see the performers. LIghting was poor. Stage was dim much of the time.

    Quidam - SJ

by t2t408 on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

It was an awesome show. It's not Vegas caliber, so I can't compare it to other shows such as "O." Overall, I enjoyed it every much and definitely recommend it to anyone who has an interest in these types of events/shows. I would definitely go see it again!

    Entire evening

I enjoyed the show particularly because I went with someone who had never seen Cirque du Soleil live. I loved the audience participation.

    Quidam @ HP Pavilion

by jsol13 on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

The Cirque performance was impeccable as they are well known to be. It was my second time to see this show and something like the 12th Cirque show I've seen. However, other than the Vegas shows this was the first time I saw them outside of their grand chapiteau. My 10 year old son and I had seats on the floor section (9th row) and along with most others spent a lot of time craning for a better view. This was because the stage was raised about three feet above the level of the floor seats and these seats were on level ground (as opposed to gradually inclined.) Luckily this show wasn't sold out so at intermission we, and about 30% of the people sitting in this section, moved to surrounding sections where the view was much better.

    Not your typical Cirque

by Kabajwbbw on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

Good show but not a great venue. It was all low acts and ground work. Go see Ovo or any other show.

Not as good as the big top shows

by tinywinger on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

I have been to a few show sunder the big top and they kept me coming back for more, sometimes we pay for expensive seats and other times we didn’t. This time we sprang for the higher priced floor seats at the San Jose show, and could not see the stage through all the heads in front of us, my daughter at one point put her head on my wife’s shoulder and rested until she could see something…. She usually is on the edge of her seat with the tiered seating offered in the past; a lot goes on between acts that tie in the audience with the performers that was lost from my view. I’m sure it was a better show from the less expensive seats, I couldn’t tell from my perspective. Also the whole ambience and mystique was missing, the arena was void of any trappings of big top shows, boring merchandise booths and the food was regular shark tank fair, not a bad thing, but just not the same, I loved the carnival atmosphere of the past shows. I felt like being transported to a different time and place, only with ATM card’s. I’m sure it’s better for Cirque to move to the arena shows, but I for one will no longer attend, I will remember how good it was nonetheless, like all good things they never seem to last.

Quidam, Good performance - Bad Venue

by tinywinger on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

We missed the big top, big time! Took my handicapped daughter and a friend to the Friday matinee performance. The performance itself was very good, there is almost NO WAY you can find fault with performers as good as those you see in Cirque. There did not seem to be much stuff going on to bring the audience into the show...yes, they did do a great job with the folks that they brought up to the stage, but there were no surprising things or treats for the rest of the audience like there was in Kooza or even Ovo. The storyline was depressing as was the music, and a little creepy too. Also, even though this was at an arena the stage seemed small to us and the german wheel performer seemed cramped and I was afraid he was going to fall of the stage. The staff at the venue however, went out of their way to make our young daughter, who is recovering from a brain injury, comfortable. They even allowed us to privately use a back stage bathroom for her, this was SO nice because it was her birthday that day and we didn't want her to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed in any way. Thank you HP Pavillion staff!!!! Seat Review: These seats were VERY disappointing. We paid top price for the "best" seats in the house, but because they were in folding chairs on the floor, we couldn't see the stage. Our line of sight was about 2 feet above the stage so the aerialists could clearly be seen, but we had to crane our necks to see the stage level performances. Several times I was tempted to stand up. AND they didn't even think to offset the seating so you were literally blocked by the head of the person smack dab in front of you. The woman in front of ME was tall with a big head, it was like freaking Sputnik, I kid you not. I noticed many people in our section left and I didn't know where they went. I did see them on our way out of the show, so I guess they must have left their expensive seats to find cheap seats from which to view the show. Please Cirque, no more arena shows. If there is no big top, we won’t bother to go.

    Quidam Dazzles

by RexDude on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

You will be amazed at the strength, balance, and precision of these performers. It's unbelievable the dangerous feats these acrobats do. The show has real comedy moments as well. My friends and I were laughing out loud on several occasions. I also liked the fact that all the music is performed live. This is truly high-wire entertainment you won't see very often. Spectacular!

    meh

by basednobleman on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

I saw La Nouba in Florida and Quidam was just not the same. The acts were great, but it's just not the same in a huge arena like hp pavilion. not nearly as intimate as cirque du soliel is designed to be.

2nd Cirque show seen. Not impressed.

by bebemarcy on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

Eh. There wasn't a whole lot of ooh and aah moments. Several were astonishing but nothing I'd rave about. I was expecting it to be better than Ovo but I guess it wasn't as exciting. If you're looking more at an artistic perspective, then this would be the show to see. I'm more into energy, music, and livelihood.

    not worth the time

by viviennewoo on 3/27/11HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

Good event for spending family time together, but not an existing performance overall. While individual numbers were pretty good, there were too much unnecessary motion between them - most performer would walk to the stage and then walk away - 5-7 minute event after each performance. This set up gave false impression of performance being "build up" to the end. I was waiting for something extraordinary to happen, but it never did. Also, the story line was close to non-existent. I would only recommend to attend third performance if you have kids under 10 years old. Likely, Quidam would be boring for teenagers and adults.

    Bot the bust one.

I Wes expected Mach more. It's not like Vegas shows. I think it Wes over price for what you get in end.
