About

Cirque Berzerk was born out of the 80-mile-per-hour dust storms and searing 110 degree heat of the California Black Rock Desert's infamous annual subculture festival known as Burning Man.  It combines aerial acrobatics, fire elements, as well as other traditional circus performances with the emphasis on daring music, dance and acrobatics. Cirque Berzerk is much more than just a show—it's an entire evening experience for those who wish to escape the mundane.  Revelers describe Cirque Berzerk as an experience you enter...and never want to leave.

Cirque Berzerk takes a giant leap forward in its latest incarnation, offering a darker, sexier, more phantasmagoric experience in every way.   Stunning new global acts, fiery new choreography and bold new stage design all come to life understate-of-the-art sound and lighting.  It's an intoxicating spectacle, capturing a decadent descent into the gothic underworld.

"The sort of phantasmagoric spectacle Tim Burton would dream up if he quit film making and joined the circus." —The Los Angeles Times

"Viscerally more satisfying than any circus experience I've ever had." —Flaunt Magazine

"A post-rave, post-goth spectacle both in sound and appearance." —LA Weekly

    Entertaining and different

by Gozer999 on 2/1/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Enjoyed the show. Some very skilled performers. Great value for the money. First half was more classically entertaining and therefor better than the more story-dependent second half. Get seats in the balcony or towards the stage for the best experience.

It was good , a little overpiced but good. I music was great but the highs and lows of the story of the circus needed to be more pronounced. The acts were individually good but here was a story that the acts centered around and it got lost in the middle.

    So worth it!

by HotRokr on 2/1/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Love this show to the very end. The venue is surprisingly smaller than i thought. I had great seat in the middle 3rd row, though it was kinda cramped. The ambiance, entertainment, drinks, and vendors were all great... can't wait to see this the next time they come around.

    fantastic!!!

by sweetbuttoxic on 2/1/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

such beautifully talents! overheard from a fellow audience that this was started by a guy who put this on in chinatown years ago for a month. response was so good they ended up staying for four months and this was like an encore so they're not officially touring or anything like that. some of the entourage are ex-cirque du soleil talents but everyone was so awesome. choreography was fluid and such amazing group of people. we really enjoyed it!

    "Berzerk" doesn't hide the failings

by scknows on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

When you get past the overacting, the dreadful script and out of tune singing, you are left with some talented acrobatics and Cirque-like performances that are dazzling. The first act is really all you need. The second act is supposed to be the grand finale with a resolve to the inner conflict of the recently departed "girl in red," but it fails miserably as her performance is by far the weakest of the show (except for "Dr. Death??"). Great trampoline, outstanding ring floor performers and some good strength performers. The hefty web performer makes everything look hard. It's an amateur show with a great set and some, just some, great performers. I'd give it three thumbs down.

    Will see it again, somewhere.

by msilver on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

We saw it the second night when they opened (floor seats) and wanted to go back and get a different angle (lower balcony) and the show was still fantastic, and a little different from first time but in a good way. But come on people, have your seats when the show starts. And leave your hats at home or take them off so people can see the show who may be sitting behind you.

    Maybe a good Halloween activity

by jbf1 on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

It's a "small-time" performance really. Some interesting acts...seemed to throw in the men kissing for just shock value. There was not anything really new that I have not seen. Plus I think what is key with these type of Cirque shows is the music. The wailing of those singers honestly was getting annoying or putting me to sleep.

    Total Rip Off

by BurbankTheatrebuff on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

I'm sure the show Cirque Bezerk at Club Nokie was very good, but my $60 seat BEHIND a huge pillar wasn't worth $60. This is the second time I've seen a show at Club Nokia (the first being the Pee Wee Herman Show) where the sight-lines to the stage SUCKED. I suggest that if you see a live show at this venue, you get a balcony ticket or you won't see the show you are paying for. Hey Club Nokia, ever heard of raking the audience on platforms so they call see? Why would you sell a seat hehind a frickin pillar?

    Berzerk was repetitive.

by TTPM on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

The circus was enjoyable but it didn't break new ground in my opinion. The large majority of the performances can be attributed to Cirque de Soleil. I enjoyed the singing and costumes.

    Good fun, but not life-changing

by CountessM on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

I went to see this show with a friend, and while we really enjoyed it, there were a few drawbacks. Most notably, the venue is not great for this particular show. As far as 'vibe' it's perfect, but we were sitting a bit off to the side and maybe six rows back, and so it was a very limited view of the stage. Even if we had seats close to the front and in the middle, there's a low overhang and the stage is deep and high rather than wide, so it was difficult to see a lot of what was going on. It feels like the show was designed for a larger space than club nokia. Mostly the show was really enjoyable. As with other shows like it, it's a vague premise used to tie together various acts. The whole Welcome-to-Death thing was a little on-the-nose, but generally fun, and the majority of the acts were really wonderful to watch. It was also nice to see a show that combined dance with music with 'circus' acts. The performers all seemed very talented and committed to the style of the project, and the production design was very high quality.

Best show of the new millenium...

by Obiwun on 1/31/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

This has to be the greatest show of anything I have ever been to. I was expecting to be filled with all kinds of "ooh" and "ahh"....but it was more along the lines of simply amazing. The trapeze acts were spectacular, the couple from the closet was amazing, and I cant believe the tone and definition of the two guys who swung around the ropes. I didnt know there were back muscles that could have such tone. Plainly put, this is the greatest show of the new millenium. It cant be catagorized as any one particular kind of show because it is all over the place. To fully understand the level of amazement that is Cirque Berzerk, one must see Cirque Berzerk for themselves.
