The NASCAR Cup racing on the shorter course this year was super great racing. Turn 15 seats saw place battling on basically every lap. COTA is a great venue! Lots to see and do and plenty of space to move around. Great stuff for kids.
Great day from parking to entrance, the race and the fan zone. Could have used a few more food vendors but line waits were not bad. Seats had Great views from torn 1 thru the S's, tyrn 12 thru turn 15. Only down fall was traffic management when leaving. Even with that we are looking fwd to next yr!
We have come to the track for 4 years of NASCAR and 2 years on F1 not to mention multiple concerts and go karting trips and we have been pleased every time. The parking is easy and they take great care of ADA attendees throughout any events. The place is beautiful, and the track operators and staff take lot of pride in their facility and are always making improvements. They are adding more rollercoasters and are refurbishing the Ampitheater (which already looked great). We recently went to the NASCAR Race last Sunday and love the new track set up which made the race the best one yet. I highly recommend COTA to anyone who is thinking about coming!!
1st time at a road course. Very nice venue and plenty to do in down time between races. I went to the Sat. events. Parking was pretty good for being in the free lot. A bit of a hike but expected. Shuttle system could be a bit clearer. All volunteers and track personnel were courteous. Pricing is reasonable. If you have a family I highly recommend GA. Good bargain and you still get to see plenty of action. I would love to go to the F-1 race but I'll have to take out a loan! LOL.
Sat in row 32, section 13 of the Turn 15 stands and got to see a lot of passing and close racing from turn 12 through turn 15. Parking was fast and easy, reasonably close to the entry gate.
COTA Main grandstands have such limited sight of the track that you only get to see about 5% of the race. At $185 per this is a big rip-off boarding on fraud. The COTA and NASCAR seating maps do not adequately show that there is a four story building stretching the entire length of the main grandstand blocking your view. The video screens provided of the other 95% of the race are very small and the camera views are EXTREMELY limited. However, if your idea of an entertaining race is watching just the pit stops and the drag race up the front stretch go for it.
I was there on Saturday only. the finish of the xfinity race was outstanding. But, (1) A very long walk from the parking lot (F) to the entrance. I ended up having to walk back and forth 3 times throughout the day, so a LOT of walking. They don't tell you this. It appeared there was only 1 entrance for the whole park. Not designed for the fans. (2) I bought a small cup of coffee... $8.66 !! And it actually tasted bad, as if it had been sitting quite a long time. It was 9:30 in the morning. (3) I had a reserved seat in the turn 15 grandstand. It was very unclear to me if I was in the correct section or not. Fortunately, it wasn't crowded, so it didn't matter. (4) Personally I'm not a fan of the electronic-only ticket. More passwords and digging for your phone and drilling down to get the barcode every time you enter and leave the park. There were a lot of food options, and what I had was very good.
