Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center
The ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones play home games on the riverbank of Cincinnati's downtown. Accessible from both the Daniel Carter Beard and Taylor Southgate bridges, the Heritage Bank Center sports complex sits along the same drag as Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium, where the Cincinnati Reds (MLB) and Cincinnati Bengals (NFL) play, respectively. As the winter months approach each year, the Cyclones are a hot ticket, hosting one of the 25 other teams in the ECHL in the nearly 18,000-person arena.
Coach Matt Thomas' Cyclones team is always primed for competitive match-ups, with 14 straight winning seasons from 2006 to 2020. The team is the affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, with the 2020 squad led by veteran sharpshooter Jesse Schultz and captain Justin Vaive. If there's a signature to Cyclones games, it's the team's mascot, Twister, who checks in at "202 pounds of windblown muscle" and slides across the ice on his head during intermissions. And if you're feeling ambitious, Cyclones games are also known for the infamous "Beeramids," stacks of empty beer cans along the corners of the glass that grow as the game goes along (21+ fans only).
Cincinnati Cyclones History
While the Cincinnati Cyclones franchise bounced between ECHL and IHL in their early years, the current iteration of the team joined the ECHL in 2001 and won Kelly Cups in 2008 and 2010. The Cyclones are an affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, but have also been affiliated in the past with the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks. The Canadiens era yielded perhaps the greatest Cyclone player of all time in David Desharnais, who before an illustrious career in Montreal, won the league MVP, Rookie of the Year and scoring titles en route to leading the Cyclones to the 2008 championship. In addition to their Kelly Cups, the Cyclones have won multiple conference championships and division crowns. The historic 2007-2008 team earned the record for the most successful ECHL season of all time, with 55 wins and 115 points.
I love the Cyclones games, and attend many but this was the best one yet. Great attendence and exciting play by play action. My only problem was with concessions. I qwaited in line 45 minutes to get my $1 pizza, hotdogs and beer and they were out of food. it was disapointing.
Decided to take my mom (huge hockey fan) and my daughters (twins age 9) to the Cyclones game. It was our first time. It was throwback night so seats were only $7 so I thought why not. We got incredible seats (3rd row) and had a blast! The game was very exciting and the crowd was a lot of fun. Speaking of the crowd there were a lot more there than I expected, over 10,000. The kids enjoyed the between period antics on the ice and we won the game!
I like when the players get into fights and good music is played during the game.
This was the first Cyclones game I'd ever been to. It was awesome!
This was the first Cyclones game I've been to in 10 years. They played a great game defensively and offensively. I certainly won't wait another 10 years to go to a game. Will see them again SOON! Highly recommend you go watch a game.

The Cincinnati Cyclones were awsome. I watch hockey on tv all the time but that was my first live game. They won which made it even more awesome. I will go again soon. Im thinking about going to the next one in fact. Go Cyclones!!! You rocked!!!!!
The best sporting event i have ever ben to in cincinnati------------great parking-----------easy getting access into the event------very econamical -----------------------super great seats -------goood prices for seats-----------------EXTREAME FUN AND EXCITING TO WATCH OUR CYCLONES PLAY ----ON THE ROAD TO ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP----------------------------my family plan on coming to about 12--14 home games this season to show our support for the CYCLONES [and guess what saturday was our first ever hockey game of anykind ot watch] ===================bottom line the CYCLONES NEED OUR SUPPORT and know the fans here in cincinnati willlllllllllll stand with them so please anyone reading this COME SUPPORT THE CYCLONES......................
It was one of the best hockey games I have been to in a while.
The game was fun and exciting for all ages. Took the family and had a great time. Action on the ice was great along with the activities for the fans.

Surprised my girlfriend by taking her to her first hockey game. Would recommend seeing any even at the arena there in Cinci. Was definetly a great time.
