About Cincinnati Cyclones

Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center

The ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones play home games on the riverbank of Cincinnati's downtown. Accessible from both the Daniel Carter Beard and Taylor Southgate bridges, the Heritage Bank Center sports complex sits along the same drag as Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium, where the Cincinnati Reds (MLB) and Cincinnati Bengals (NFL) play, respectively. As the winter months approach each year, the Cyclones are a hot ticket, hosting one of the 25 other teams in the ECHL in the nearly 18,000-person arena.

Coach Matt Thomas' Cyclones team is always primed for competitive match-ups, with 14 straight winning seasons from 2006 to 2020. The team is the affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, with the 2020 squad led by veteran sharpshooter Jesse Schultz and captain Justin Vaive. If there's a signature to Cyclones games, it's the team's mascot, Twister, who checks in at "202 pounds of windblown muscle" and slides across the ice on his head during intermissions. And if you're feeling ambitious, Cyclones games are also known for the infamous "Beeramids," stacks of empty beer cans along the corners of the glass that grow as the game goes along (21+ fans only).

Cincinnati Cyclones History

While the Cincinnati Cyclones franchise bounced between ECHL and IHL in their early years, the current iteration of the team joined the ECHL in 2001 and won Kelly Cups in 2008 and 2010. The Cyclones are an affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, but have also been affiliated in the past with the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks. The Canadiens era yielded perhaps the greatest Cyclone player of all time in David Desharnais, who before an illustrious career in Montreal, won the league MVP, Rookie of the Year and scoring titles en route to leading the Cyclones to the 2008 championship. In addition to their Kelly Cups, the Cyclones have won multiple conference championships and division crowns. The historic 2007-2008 team earned the record for the most successful ECHL season of all time, with 55 wins and 115 points.

Makes me want to go to every single game !

by racarpent001 on 3/6/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

The first time I had every been to a hockey game was 3 years ago (to see the Cyclones) and I absolutely loved it and was dying to go back. Things kept getting put off and never got around to going again until recently with a friend who was attending her first hockey game. It was an amazing time and if I had the availability and money, I'd definitely be attending every single game!

    First Hockey Game!!

by bpriddy on 3/4/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

Took my boyfriend to our first hockey game for his birthday. I bought front row seats and the price was very reasonable. We had a BLAST! Our seats were great, could see all the action and we even had some players run into the glass by us! Very interactive with the crowd. Would recommend going to a hockey at least once!

    Cyclones Game

by Jasman3832 on 2/27/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

Awesome experience at U.S. Bank Arena! Took my kids to game & they said it was "the bomb.com"! ' Clones played a great game - they are very talented hockey players, and won, 2-1. Event organizers were clever & creative with various entertainment activities during brief time outs & between periods of play. Only downside was some bad language from just a small number of fans; Let's keep it "PG" for the kids' sake. Definitely going again & would recommend to others for an exciting night of action packed entertainment.

by mammatevers on 2/27/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

I love the Cyclones games .... It is such a fun time ! My daughter and son enjoyed it with me as well . I am a cancer survivor . I have breast cancer and am going through chemo right now . The auction after was wonderful as well . We stayed for the benefit . The media really needs to show more things like what the Cyclones do . Every dime of the auction went to the 6 various cancer organizations . It is always such a friendly family atmosphere at their games . I LOVE THEM !!!!!!!!!! Thank you Cyclones !!!!!!!!!

    Flooding kept us away

by Anonymous on 2/27/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

We live east of the city and unfortunately were unable to attend due to the extensive flooding in our area. We do enjoy going to Cyclone games and do recommend them to anyone who enjoys hockey, but were unable to use our tickets this time. Can they be reused for another home game?

    Paw patrol appearance a fail

by DisappontedAunt79 on 2/21/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

There was only one paw patrol character and it was tough to see him and see the game. There should have been a little show at half time with the characters. Or least had the one character that was there come on the ice for a few minutes so any kid that couldn’t see him because of the long line would be able to see him. My nephew was very excited to see the characters from his favorite show. The cyclones on the other hand were great.. good game and we loved their paw patrol jerseys. He also loved the free Twister plush he received. We would have liked to see Twister in the stands more.

Why call it a Paw Patrol event.

by Upsetgrandpa on 2/21/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

This was billed as a "Paw Patrol" evening. My grandson loves Paw Patrol so I gave him tickets for Christmas and excitement was building since then. At the game, the only evidence of Paw Patrol was a patch on their jersey. No characters in stand, no cardboard cutouts for pictures, nothing. Totally disappointed kids.

    Paw Patrol

by davisde on 2/21/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

It would have been better to have more of the characters out at the same time to avoid standing in line for an hour just to "meet" them. Also, I would have liked to have known when I purchased the tickets that the coaches stand up during the entire game. If you are in the first row behind the players you can't see anything.

by KRYTLELOU on 1/30/18U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME AT THE US BANK ARENA, I HAVE TO SAY THE SEATS ARE SMALL FOR A BIGGER PERSON & THERE ISN'T VERY MUCH LEG ROOM! OTHER THAN THAT, THE GAME WAS GREAT! WE HAD A GREAT TIME EXCEPT FOR BEING CRAMPED IN OUR SEATS
