Cincinnati Bengals Team History

The Cincinnati Bengals were founded by legendary head coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Brown, and played their first season in 1968. The Bengals got their name from Brown's coaching past, as tiger mascots had been a common thread throughout his career. The Bengals have won 11 AFC North Championship titles and three AFC Championship titles. They won their first division title as part of the AFC Central in 1970, becoming the first expansion team to win a championship in its first three years.

The Bengals first advanced to the Super Bowl during the 1981 and 1988 seasons, and then again in 2022 for Super Bowl LVI. Since 2005, the team has advanced to the playoffs nine times, including two AFC North Division titles.

    paul brown stadium

by MSssssssssssss on 12/11/13Paul Brown Stadium - Cincinnati

the drunkenness and offensive language at bengals games is embarrassing. I took my son to the colts game and it seemed clear that we were in the minority of people trying to watch and cheer the bengals. most seemed to be focused on getting drunk. not a great atmosphere.

    Bengals whip Browns

by whitewaterismylifenot on 11/22/13Paul Brown Stadium - Cincinnati

It was motavating to see the Bengals fans out in force for the "Battle of Ohio". Buy yourself some Bengals gear and join in the excitement. I only had a Bengals cap, plan to buy a jersey before I go again. The game itself was strange in that the Bengals scored 41 points even though their offense was somewhat anemic. But the defense scored on a fumble return and a blocked punt, and had three interceptions to set up the offense with good field position.

Awesome game and seats!!! The unpredictable weather in Cincy gave us fits but turned out better than expected!!!! The crowd was mixed. Sweet man and his son to our left, drunk idiots to our right. We had a blast and looking forward to playoff games!!!

    Standing

by weqwqw on 10/30/13Paul Brown Stadium - Cincinnati

While it was a great team win, sitting (or should I say standing) in section 154 in the end zone was a disappointing location. Apparently, fans who buy seats there do not use them. They stand up during the entire game. I have had 3 total knee replacements and a recent hip replacement so standing all the time was not possible for me. I had to strain my neck just to see the plays on the big screen. Even though we politely asked those in front of us to sit down, they would not. If everyone in the section would have been seated, all the fans could have seen the game. I felt like the $360.00+ I paid for the seats was money down the drain. As I looked around the stadium, it seemed like the practice of standing for the whole game is unique to the end zone, at least in section 154 where we were seated.

    Loved the stadium experience!

by Jccfla on 10/9/13Paul Brown Stadium - Cincinnati

The Bengals stadium is really nice and open. Great view of the field, city and river. Only would have been better if Tim Tebow were still with the Patriots (the reason I bought the tickets) and the Bengals still kicked their buttts!

    Who Dey!

by jdc4879 on 10/9/13Paul Brown Stadium - Cincinnati

The atmosphere at PBS was electric, and it had nothing to do with the storms in the area. I was more than happy to deal with torrential downpours to see the Bengals beat the Patriots!

Had a great time, everyone we meet was friendly. Parking was $25 and you have to buy a tailgating permit if you want to grill out. We didn't, so we made friends with someone who had and just grilled out in their area. So keep that in mind. Overall we had a great time even during the downpour!
