FANTASTIC - AS ALWAYS, THE PERFORMANCE WAS EXCEPTIONAL.

by SG on 2/22/19Ames Center - Burnsville

MISSED THE ORIGINAL WOMEN ACTORS (HENCE THE REASON FOR A 4-STAR RATING) - THOSE THAT WERE ACTING IN THE WOMEN'S PARTS DID A FABULOUS JOB, HOWEVER HAVING SEEN EVERYONE OF THE 'CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES' SHOWS - IT TOOK A BIT OF ADJUSTMENT ON MY PART TO SEE NEW FACES IN THE RESPECTIVE ROLES. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DETAILS ON THE NEXT SHOW. :)

The play was delightful - the performance was excellent.

by Dawn on 2/18/19Ames Center - Burnsville

I appreciated the story line but mostly the great musical performance. It was intimate and amusing.. This was the second Church Ladies event we attended and I would go again in a heart beat.

    Extremely funny

by Horsebiker on 2/18/19Ames Center - Burnsville

We brought our neighbor who is in her 80's and Luthern. We all thought that it was another great performance. I personally have been to all the Church basement ladies shows. Each of them are great and the performers are still just as great as they were in the first one. Great job again.

Fantastically funny! Great singing and wonderful timing with the hilarity! The whole family has side aches from laughing so much!

    Great show- awful seating

    by D. S. on 2/11/19Ames Center - Burnsville

The show itself was very good- funny and interesting. The ladies are so talented! However, the seats were the worst I have ever experienced. I am not very big-5'2"- but even I was squished. I do not know if they tried to squeeze more seats into the space, but for any average or larger person it must have been miserable.

    Fun

Loved it - it was so nostalgic! I grew up in Viking township for real and remember the Fargo tornado.

Fantastic show, venue location not great

by Lisa on 2/5/19Ames Center - Burnsville

The Church Basement Ladies You Smell Barn was a fantastic show--probably the best one I've seen (and I've seen most). However, I did not like the venue that it was held at (Ames Center in Burnsville). We were on office style chairs on risers that were seated very tightly together with no arm rests between seats. The risers shook a people moved on and off the risers. Viewing the play was poor as you had to look around all the heads (we were seated on the top row and the play was performed on the floor level (not raised on a stage) which made it very difficult to view the performers. I would NOT attend another play performance at this venue.

    You smell Barn

by Scoop on 1/28/19Ames Center - Burnsville

Great performance!! Was disappointed in the seating from the previous seating in Plymouth. Rows are narrow and seats are too close together. Hard for people to get in and out.

    Church Basement Ladies

by Mike on 1/23/19Ames Center - Burnsville

Trying to get tickets through Ticketmaster was a nightmare! The seating in the Ames Center was terrible. They were simple chairs that were placed tightly together. There was no room to even shift in your chair when the people sitting next to you were normal sized adults. I felt sorry for people who sat in front of us, where all of the people were a little large, they couldn't even budge! Though I enjoyed the play if another one is held in the Ames Center I don't think I would attend a sequel.

    Disappointed

    by p. S. on 1/23/19Ames Center - Burnsville

First the stage is ground level. Packed in like sardines. Unable to see 3/4 of the performance. If the stage was a true stage it would of been elevated so the people in the back rows could see the performance. I paid almost $50.00 to see the understudies, couldn't see, and had only able to sit on half of the chair because there wasn't enough room for bigger people. Not pressed with Ames theater prefer Plymouth Playhouse, there you have enough room and you can see the stage no matter where you sit.

Show great; venue a lot to be desired

by Cindy on 1/18/19Ames Center - Burnsville

The show was great. I would give it a 5 star. The venue was not good at all. The chairs were too close together and there was not enough of a rise in the seats. I was only about 5 rows up and on the aisle, but I could not see what was happening at times because of the people in front of me. I am glad the people in front weren't tall or I wouldn't have been able to see even more. Definitely need to change your venue. I won't come back to this one.

    Too long!

by SteveO on 1/16/19Ames Center - Burnsville

We have seen the CBL many, many times over the years. It has been an enjoyable experience, until now. The seats are not theater seats, they are side chairs pushed together, and not comfortable. The play is way too long. They could have eliminated two songs in both the first and second halves.

Church Basement Ladies - You Smell Barn

    by R. M. on 1/10/19Ames Center - Burnsville

Love Greta Grosch! She is a wonderful actress, author, and lyricist. Was very happy that Robbie Mancina was playing a part. Ames theater wasn't as comfortable at Plymouth Playhouse but will go anywhere to see Loonie Lutherans or Church Basement Ladies. A very important part of our holiday tradition.

    Plenty of laughs

by Ronbo on 1/9/19Ames Center - Burnsville

Enjoyed all the rural humor, and surprisingly there were some poignant moments that I was moved by also. Great job to the writers and performers. Regarding the Black Box Theater, I felt a little claustrophobic, very tight seating, iron rails on the outside that would prevent an easy escape in an emergency. Plus exits were not marked very well. Needs improvement.
