About

CHRIS JANSON IN CONCERT:

Country singer/songwriter Chris Janson is relatively new to the scene, but he's already earning praise as the future of country music. Hot on the heels of his 2013 debut full-length, Janson released follow-up album Take It to the Bank to critical acclaim in 2014, sealing the deal  with fiery blue-collar performances that have earned him a reputation as one of the genre's most exciting live acts. Whether he's giving a mean harmonica solo or waxing romantic on songs like "'Til a Woman Comes Along," Janson never fails to captivate his audiences, promising big things to come as he hits the road for his 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Missouri, Janson was working as a songwriter as early as 18 years old, collaborating with the likes of Guns N' Roses' Bill Anderson and Holly Williams, granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr. After relocating to Nashville, he landed a year-long residency at Tootsie's Orchid Lounger, where he caught the attention of Neil Young one night with a cover of Young classic "Cortez the Killer." Releasing his self-titled debut album in 2013, Janson landed two singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, "Better I Don't" and "Cut Me Some Slack," but it was his unpredictable live performances that really turned heads. Following the early-2014 release of sophomore album Take It to the Bank, Janson hit the road for a highly anticipated tour in support of the record.

Chris put on an excellent show and shared his heart with the crowd. This was a great experience as he made his concert personal by sharing his love for his musice as well as his love for God and his Lord Jesus Christ. Lots of energy and a great sound. I am amazed at his talent with all of the musical instruments he played that night. Go see him when you get a chance.

Chris Janson is amazing as a performer, musician, and singer/song writer. He is also an amazing human being. He takes time to develop rapport and shares so much goodness with his audience. I will always be interested in seeing him perform when he comes near. I LOVE his ability with the harmonica as well.

I love Chris. The concert was awesome. His personality shines through. It was great seeing his son on stage. Chris brought another youngster from the audience on stage and that was so precious. It is heartwarming to see artists who are so grounded and promote love and family.

  • Omg!awesome!

First time I saw Chris. He opened for Travis He was so entertaining. I fell in love with him. So I got tickets for his concert at memphis to see him I got front row seats. I loved them. But after he said he would do selfies. This one chick came up there stood in front of us. We couldn’t see him but the girl next to us tried to get security. To get them to move so we can watch the show. But he said no he couldn’t do anything. Which was fine. But I still heard him. And I loved his son singing. That was awesome. So proud of him. But Chris did wink and pulled at his shirt saying thanks that we had his shirt on. Which was cool. I loved this guy. I hope he goes far in waiting on him to come back to Memphis. I’m going to do the selfie next. Lol.

  • Great Emotional Connection

    by S.a.S. on 7/27/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Once Chris Janson appeared on stage, he was very in tuned and engaged with the audience. I liked that he shared personal information about himself- e.g., said he was a trailer park kid who worked hard to make himself a success. He was self-deprecating and acknowledged that most people found him skinny- that he needed to lift some weights. He was very down to earth in addressing the crowd. Seemed like a sincerely grateful man. His music was great, though I only saw part of his performance because my friend was sick and needed to leave. My only negative comment is that there seemed to be way too much time between his startup singer and when Chris finally took the stage. Other than that was great. Must comment that security was very helpful with my ill friend and transported her via golf cart to the street. They were appropriately concerned and immediately available. All was well run, except that we abided by the pre-announced policy about only clear plastic purses but others entered with normal purses. That seemed wrong because we invested in the clear plastic purses policy but found that it wasn’t uniformly enforced.

Great time with a Nice venue. It was an Awesome concert

  • Never Again!!!

by Mojito on 7/25/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Venue stated that music would start at 5pm and Chris Janson at 6:30. Arrived at 6pm and 3 hours later no Chris Janson. Heard a couple of solo opening acts, but heard more radio than performers. Not sure what time Chris Janson started preforming because we left at 9pm and the band had yet to take the stage!!! Not the first time times had been screwed up at this outdoor venue. Never again will I attend a concert at this sight!!!

  • 90 minutes of Good Vibes

by Mal on 7/24/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Chris Janson performed Friday night in Promenade Park in downtown Toledo. He got the all-ages crowd going with his positive energy when he first hit the stage and never let off the gas. His nothing but “Good Vibes” attitude and unrelenting enthusiasm was impressive and inspiring. Undoubtedly one of the world best entertainers, regardless of category or genre. Great show!
