CHRIS JANSON IN CONCERT:
Country singer/songwriter Chris Janson is relatively new to the scene, but he's already earning praise as the future of country music. Hot on the heels of his 2013 debut full-length, Janson released follow-up album Take It to the Bank to critical acclaim in 2014, sealing the deal with fiery blue-collar performances that have earned him a reputation as one of the genre's most exciting live acts. Whether he's giving a mean harmonica solo or waxing romantic on songs like "'Til a Woman Comes Along," Janson never fails to captivate his audiences, promising big things to come as he hits the road for his 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Missouri, Janson was working as a songwriter as early as 18 years old, collaborating with the likes of Guns N' Roses' Bill Anderson and Holly Williams, granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr. After relocating to Nashville, he landed a year-long residency at Tootsie's Orchid Lounger, where he caught the attention of Neil Young one night with a cover of Young classic "Cortez the Killer." Releasing his self-titled debut album in 2013, Janson landed two singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, "Better I Don't" and "Cut Me Some Slack," but it was his unpredictable live performances that really turned heads. Following the early-2014 release of sophomore album Take It to the Bank, Janson hit the road for a highly anticipated tour in support of the record.

Chris was amazing, all over the stage - Crazy! We have seen him twice before never disappoints.
Great show- non stop! Love the nice small theatre. There was only one choice in an xl shirt and that was even at the end of the night. And no bass pro hays he pushed. My son did order one online.
Chris Jansen put on an incredible show!! He is so humble and appreciative! He loves God and our country!! Will definitely go see him again if he is somewhere close!
It was a jam packed penns peak Chris came out rockin and never stopped. Truly amazed he played guitar piano and drums. His young son sang with him his wife even came out to say hi truly a awesome show!
This was my 5th time seeing Chris Janson. He just keeps getting better and better! The fact that he didn't have an opening act speaks volumes. I've seen him when he opened for Cody Johnson and it was a completely different kind of show. Great show, don't get me wrong, but this time he was more personal and did alot of covers. All kinds of music and the crowd was going crazy. Love the smaller venues too. My first time seeing him was when he opened for Toby Keith in Jersey. Love them both. Today is a sad day for country music that's for sure. RIP Toby.
Amazing concert and place that hosted it my 7 year old granddaughter love it as much as we did hopefully he comes back❤️
Chris Janson is a great entertainer! He is so talented with all the instruments he plays and types of music he sings. We've seen him twice at this venue, and we'll be back the next time he comes again. We originally saw him in Nashville, TN and loved him! His shows are so energetic and fun. He loves to talk about his family, faith and love for music, and it's just wonderful! We were so glad to see that he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and has hit No. 1 with his songs. We appreciate you Chris Janson, you're one of the best!
If you get a chance to see Chris Janson, DO IT! he puts on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen a lot! He is a talented musician, great showman and does it all with a great deal of humility and sincerity, backed by an awesome band. This is a show that shouldn’t be missed, regardless of your favorite genre. See the show, you’ll thank me.
He was awesome! Sounded just like his recordings. Was amazed he played 5 different instruments. He performed for almost 2 hours. Would highly recommend seeing him. Would love to see him again!
Absolutely awesome show. Great energy, great music. Will definitely see him again.
Chris puts on a great show however the vocals were drowned out by the music on every song. He began screaming instead of singing after the midway point of the show. Even the few ballads he sings were overdone. Could not understand almost any words in the songs due to the music way out doing the vocals. He puts on an entertaining high energy show but simply overdone on the music and the volume.
Love Penns Peak , not a bad seat in the house. Generous drinks at a reasonable price and convenient parking. Have seen Chris Janson twice at this venue. He puts on a great show and I will absolutely see him again here or anywhere else .
My wife and I had never been to Penn's Peak. We did see Chris Janson once before about six years ago. Both were great. We had such a good time. Chris is an amazing entertainer and seems like such a good person. We will go see him again as soon as he's back in the area. We wouldn't change a thing.
Chris Janson made the concert feel like he was singing and speaking to you directly. Show lasted about 1:50 and it felt like it lasted much longer than that, because he was so engaging. Will definitely go see him again next year when he comes back
First time seeing Chris Janson. Was very pleased with the performance, which was quite long. From the very start, and up till the end, he had my attention. A very positive and uplifting experience going through the emotions. Very talented with some unexpected turns. Loved it!!
Arena rock? Over it. Smaller cool venues like the Bloomington IL Center for the Performing Arts are where the heart and soul of live music are on full display. Not a bad seat in the house. Chris Janson is a world class musician and entertainer, loves his family, and appreciates his band and his fans. We stood up for the whole show! We got to see him be ornery, patriotic, caring and funny. His young son performed, and young girl joined Chris on a song - it was great. Chris Janson is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry and honors that commitment fully. His encore set? What's typical is more of an artist's own material -- not a bad thing. But Chris Janson knows who came before him. He's a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He honored that commitment fully with a compilation of country and rock classics, not any of his own material. That's a fulfilled man.
Chris played his heart out! His band was incredible too! The encore was the longest encore I have ever seen. Really like the mixture of his songs and other songs. He played Jerry Lee Lewis too!
Chris Janson should be Entertainer of the Year! He is THAT good!!! You will be amazed! Country, rock and a little in between! But it’s his all-around 110% energy that will amaze you! Don’t miss a Chris Janson concert if at all possible!!!
Love the concert. Good music and the venue was really nice.
