CHRIS JANSON IN CONCERT:
Country singer/songwriter Chris Janson is relatively new to the scene, but he's already earning praise as the future of country music. Hot on the heels of his 2013 debut full-length, Janson released follow-up album Take It to the Bank to critical acclaim in 2014, sealing the deal with fiery blue-collar performances that have earned him a reputation as one of the genre's most exciting live acts. Whether he's giving a mean harmonica solo or waxing romantic on songs like "'Til a Woman Comes Along," Janson never fails to captivate his audiences, promising big things to come as he hits the road for his 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Missouri, Janson was working as a songwriter as early as 18 years old, collaborating with the likes of Guns N' Roses' Bill Anderson and Holly Williams, granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr. After relocating to Nashville, he landed a year-long residency at Tootsie's Orchid Lounger, where he caught the attention of Neil Young one night with a cover of Young classic "Cortez the Killer." Releasing his self-titled debut album in 2013, Janson landed two singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, "Better I Don't" and "Cut Me Some Slack," but it was his unpredictable live performances that really turned heads. Following the early-2014 release of sophomore album Take It to the Bank, Janson hit the road for a highly anticipated tour in support of the record.

Chris Janson’s concert was great! It was the first time we have been to the Hoyt Sherman Place. It was really pretty and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the place. We will be back for sure!
This was the best concert I have been to in along time. Shane Profitt and Ray Fletcher set the stage and we’re good ole boys singing good ole country. Chris stole the night with his energy, stage presence, and moves. The audience was engaged the whole show. Appreciate that all the artists thanked the audience for coming multiple times. Chris is fantastic and outside the box performer. Well worth every dime and will definitely go see all 3 again!
Chris’s energized show was so good. He was funny, engaged with the audience and then went out with a bang! The music was good, we had fun and will buy a ticket next time he comes through.
We have now seen Chris 14 times since 2018, and are always blown away. His energy level is out of the world and his shows are outstanding. More Janson concerts coming up in March. Money well spent
The concert was outstanding and Chris put on a great show. The venue at Five Flags in Dubuque IA was great and not a bad seat in the house.
This was a magnificent perfromance. I honestly wouldn't have considered Chris Janson to be one of my favorite country artists before this show. I really only bought tickets because he was at my favorite venue and it was on a Friday night. I have been to hundreds of concerts of my life and Chris Janson is one of the best pure entertainers I have ever had the pleasure to see. After the concert I immediately found myself looking at his tour schedule and trying to figure out when I could catch his show again. Go to his show, you will not be disappointed.
Great venue and Chris Janson was top notch. His high energy entertainment was intoxicating.
As always, Chris is a great entertainer. You can tell he loves what he's doing and he's a talented artist. Really appreciated his wife and son being a part of the show too. That combined with the atmosphere only found at Hoyt Sherman, made the concert a personal and unique experience for everyone in attendance.
Chris is a great talent with his own unique personality. The video board was great and he had the right mix of music and story telling. With the divisiveness in this country I wish entertainers stayed out of politics. This is coming from a Trump hating Republican.
I always enjoy Hoyt Sherman! It is definitely my favorite forum!
Chris Janson is a great performer! His harmonica playing was amazing. He kept the crowd pumped the entire time and you could tell he wanted to be there!
Chris Janson and Ray Fulcher and Shane Profitt put on a wonderful concert in Dubuque Iowa this week. Heard a lot of new songs. So excited to be back going to concerts.
Soundboard venue is great, and Chris Jansen was a lot of fun!
Great show. He is always great. Lots of energy. Great musician. Sound board is an awesome place for a concert
Chris puts on a really good show. There were not a bunch of bells and whistles just a really good band playing really good music. There was also a lot of interaction with his fans and it just seemed that he was really enjoyed being there. The show was originally scheduled for 2019 and he seemed very appreciative that people were there for him even after all of the time that had passed.
This was my first trip into Sound Board. I was aware that I purchased "obstructed" tickets for this show and searched for reviews on the venue's seating. My seats were indeed obstructed. I was four rows up on the side balcony towards the corner. I am going to guess 60-70% of the seats in the balcony are "obstructed". If you are not sitting in the first row, or in a handful of seats up the middle, you will be hard pressed to see the stage. I didn't spend a ton on these seats, and I might go back one time to sit in the main floor, but I wouldn't buy balcony seats again. Really poorly designed. I did enjoy the show but spent most of the night watching the monitors (and standing). If I wanted to stand I would have bought main floor tickets. BUT since you cannot see in the balcony, folks stand to see what they can. Not ideal for me.
Chris was awesome as he usually is. Did not like the venue at all. The entire floor was general admission. Standing room only. For those of us who need to sit some during the concert our only option was to sit up high. Hated that. I’ve been to over 50 concerts in the past three years and this was the worst venue I have been to.
America needs more Chris Janson! Non stop energy and fun, one of the best concerts I’ve been to and thank you for an affordable price for great standing room tickets. Happy, feel good, upbeat music from start to finish. Small venue shows are priceless.
Chris Janson is awesome!!! Entertaining, energetic and very personable. Loved everything!!!!
