About

Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on  free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits  including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

    Big Band Sound

by Sid Sagetree on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

This was my 6th time seeing Chicago, and they continue to impress each time, and such a great venue at The Venetian. Chicago is a phenomenal performance with that big band sound without the big orchestra.

    Amazing Night with Chicago

by MCAL on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Got to check out Chicago at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas last week and what a great experience. The band was tight as ever and put on one heck of a show. Things started out a little slow with a few songs I didn't recognize, but when they started in one the hits, man they went to town! So many memories of classic tunes that artists just compare to nowadays. My only gripe was the 20 minutes intermission. It really broke up the flow of the show for me. But once they started up again, they got right back into the flow and rocked the house. If you get the chance, Chicago is definitely well worth checking out!

    Missed Robert Lamm

by Scotty on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

The show was very good and entertaining. Very disappointed that Robert Lamb was not there Neil Donnell did a very good job and the brass section was spot on like always. I really enjoyed the show, but was disappointed that Limb was not present since I have been a fan since the early 70s.

    Amazing show with incredible musicianship

by Soncaliente on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Chicago was amazing. How can Pankow and Loughnane at age 75+ play and move like they are 40 years younger. The horns were spot on and clear , and rhythm section was tight. It is always a joy to see a drummer, percussionist, and bass and the whole crowd reacting, dancing and clapping to music. I expected a decent show and was somewhat excited but right after the first note I knew I was witnessing something really special. The venue at the Venetian was acoustically great. My only complaint is sometimes vocals were harder to hear from our seats and not sure if that was due to the venue. I really commend this current iteration of Chicago, and even though Pankow and Loughnane are the only originals from the 60s, every band member is a legend in their own right and put on a show of amazing quality and entertainment for mega fans and casual fans alike for this band. I strongly strongly recommend while you have a chance please go see Chicago. They are starting a tour with Earth Wind and Fire so there should be many opportunities to see them.

    Chicago was Great

by KJDean on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Chicago still puts a lot of heart and soul into each performance. Was disappointed that Robert Lamm did not perform. Jimmy and Lee are great…but they need Robert.

    Chicago 50+ Years of Hits

by Leroy on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

While the current Chicago has three original members, the band sounds very much the same as it did in the early years. The group has a wall to wall lineup of very talented musicians. There stage performance displayed the energy and passion they still have for their music. Our show was the final for the latest run at the Venetian in Las Vegas. The concert lasted about two hours including a brief intermission. Every song on the set list was easily recognized by the crowd and spanned decades of great music. Being a fan of rock since the fifties, I must say Chicago created a unique sound at a time when "rock' was as diverse as any genre ever was. I've been to many concerts in my lifetime and even worked stage security for about three years. Without a doubt Chicago is in my top five. Chicago, great band , great songs, great memories. Catch them if you get a chance.

    Slightly Disappointed

by LittleMac on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

We were excited to see Chicago. The let down was that they didn’t play many of the hits we were hoping to hear. Also, the volume of the lead singers mic 🎤 was not loud enough for the music. He was drowned out by the music. Although we did enjoy the concert, it definitely could have been much better than it was in our opinion.

    Best show ever, surprisingly

by Al on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Not sure how masters nearing 80 were able to blow brass for 2+ hours without using oxygen. They are gods. Lots of nostalgia, but they also rocked so hard. Two twentysomethings sitting next to me screamed every word and never sat down. Maybe they found Grandma's LPs! Highly recommend catching them when they tour with EWF this summer.

Two hours and 25 great songs ...

by Jan from Atlanta on 3/12/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Have been to Chicago shows since the mid 70s and still love hearing the music live. For this show, Robert Lamm was out, but the band members, covered all the parts seamlessly. The horn section is rock solid as is the rhythm section. They are still tight and sound great. They did 14 songs first set then 11 more in set two. You can't say you don't get your money"s worth !

Poor audio clarity and mix ruined the show

by Marshall on 3/11/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

From the very start of what had to this point a three week residency at The Venetian theater the sound should have been near perfect. Our seats were 8 seats from the right of the sound booth so we were hearing what the sound engineer was hearing. The mix was terrible with the vocals buried in the music and it wasn’t like they band couldn’t sing, they were great for their age when you could hear them. About 20 minutes into the show one of the two original members stepped up to the microphone to talk a little bit but there was such feedback with squealing and noise you couldn’t hear what he was saying. I looked the stage over very well and couldn’t see any open floor monitors and noticed the whole band was using in ear monitors this meant that the feedback was coming from FOH speakers!!! The sound man was oblivious to what was happening. He actually seemed very disinterested in even being there. The Eq on the vocals sounded like they were singing with their hand over their mouth! Other times the BGV singers who where playing keyboards were much more clear and Eq setting perfect. The front members of Chicago would and should be very upset with what their show sounded like. I was very pissed that a sorry sound man ruined my experience to see and hear Chicago live for the first time!!! There was no excuse for this after this long in a residence show. A push of the button should recall his last show on a Digico board. That tells me that their last show was just as bad! The only reason I didn’t give the show a single star is because I no that Chicago would be a great show otherwise!

    Top Notch

by NAH on 3/11/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Chicago never disappoints. The group still captures its original sound. The band members are first rate. They're pretty much on stage the entire time and only take a twenty minute break. I enjoy seeing them at least once a year and wish I could see them more often.
