Chicago Blackhawks History
The Chicago Blackhawks were founded in 1926 and were part of the Original Six group of franchises, which constituted the NHL from 1942 until league expansion in 1967. The club won Stanley Cup Championships in the 1933-1934 and 1937-1938 seasons, but success proved largely elusive over the next two decades, except for one appearance in the final in 1943-1944. The 1960s signaled a rebirth for the franchise, with future Hall of Famers Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Pierre Pilote, and Glenn Hall leading the way. The Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings in the 1961 Stanley Cup Final, collecting their third championship.
The addition of eventual Hall of Fame goaltender Tony Esposito ahead of the 1969-1970 season marked the start of an era during which the team earned a Playoff berth in 28 consecutive seasons. In 1971 and 1973 the Blackhawks reached the Stanley Cup Final, losing both times to the Montreal Canadiens. More excellence followed in the 1990s, aided by the likes of Ed Belfour and Jeremy Roenick, as the Blackhawks finished with the league's best record in 1990-1991 and made the Stanley Cup Final in 1991-1992.
By selecting their eventual captain Jonathan Toews third overall in the 2006 NHL Draft, the Blackhawks began stocking up on young talent, also adding Patrick Kane first overall the following year. They returned to the Playoffs in 2008-2009, and in the very next season, Chicago defeated the Philadelphia Flyers for their first Stanley Cup Championship in 49 years. They added championships in 2013—beating the Boston Bruins in a thrilling series that included three overtime games—and 2015, topping the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

The idea for the arena was created in 1988 by William Wirtz, owner of the Chicago Blackhawks, and Jerry Reinsdorf, majority owner and Team Chairman of the Chicago Bulls. The United Center has hosted the Stanley Cup Finals three times: in 2010, 2013 and 2015. The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup Championship in 2015 against the Tampa Bay Lightning at home in the sixth game—the first time since 1938 that the franchise clinched the Cup in Chicago.

Been going to games since I was six years old great venue just like Chicago stadium
We had so much fun! And the best thing is that blackhawks won!!
Was great event opening night of the home Season!!!
Loved the arena and the price for the seats was great. I would definitely come back to see the Blackhawks or other team/event. One small beef. Your site says absolutely no bags but I saw all kinds of women with small belt bags or cross bodies just big enough for their phones and bigger than allowed as I have the same LuluLemon Everywhere bag! I highly doubt all of these young women had medical needs. Please officially allow a small bag to hold the phone. Loved the mobile order feature!
We need this to be a yearly thing! Thanks for the great night!
I hope the NHL does this again. Great crowd and a great game.
The Blackhawks didn't look very sharp, losing 3-0, but the worst part was the venue, the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The staff treated the people like they were a herd of cattle, the food and drink prices were outrageous, and inaccessible unless you had a smart phone and scanned a QR code, then downloaded ANOTHER app to order anything. Also, it is illegal not to accept cash for payment, but the staff at Fiserv Forum ignored that. And the music during the game was TOO LOUD!!! If I wanted to listen to blasting dance music, I would have gone to a club, not a hockey game. The were times that the hockey players had to wait for the loud music and inane announcers to stop before they could resume play. BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND!
Great venue for hockey. The atmosphere and vendor options were great for the sport of hockey. Fans definitely represented the sport well.
Perfect place to watch a hockey game. Just make sure you eat and drink beforehand. The.prices for concessions is absolutely ridiculous.
Great hockey. Wish they could play at least one game a year at the Fiserv...a regular season game would even be better!!!
Having the NHL play in Milwaukee was absolutely awesome! The stadium has excellent seating, great views, and is absolutely a clean modern venue. Venue. The deer district outside the stadium is great. Unfortunately, the concessions within the stadium suck. I placed a $70 food order and it took over an hour and a half to be completed and the game was basically over. A waste of time and money and no way to get a refund.
Blackhawks played a good game. They Got some good passes up and down the rink. Played aggressive, and smart just needed more efficient inside shots. On the contrary Minnesota had a fantastic goalie so of course it was hard to score. I just want to say good job to both teams. You came out did your best, and showed everyone what it looked like to have your heart in it!
Have to order via phone for concessions. They suggest 5-10 min wait, and was always closer to 30 min. For a $14 beer, hire some dang staff!
Great experience. Nice to see ice in the fiserv! Milwaukee needs an nhl team
Found out the blackhawks were playing the wild in Milwaukee on my birthday, i moved to wi years ago from il. haven’t seen a game in long time. It was a perfect present, I just wish the blackhawks scored one goal. Was a great gift from my kids
The pre grame experiance was cool, would of been cool to hve the mascots outside hamging out with the fans. The wait to get food was way to long even if you irdered from your phone, to wait for 20 minutes for chicken stips and fries and drinks is crazy. I think more food stands needed to be open and better staffed.
The game and overall experience was enjoyable. The outdoor area was great before the game. It was very disappointing that the concessions closed so early, before the start of the 3rd period. There were many people who waited in line for over 20 minutes prior to only be told that they are done serving. There really was no heads up that they would be closing as early as they did. The app that is used to order and pickup food was also very misleading. It indicated that it would be 5 minutes when in reality it was 20 minutes. The game aspect and the seating was great but have to downgrade the experience due to concession issues.
So fun to be able to see my Wild and the Blackhawks (Boo!) even if it was only preseason. Hopefully this will open the door for more hockey at Fiserv
The concessions were insane. Tried to order food and they said there was no point. They were behind 15-20 orders and wouldn’t get our order before the end of the game. I only wanted icies and they said they still couldn’t do it. Kids were upset.
It was a great experience. Fiserv and Milwaukee did a great job putting on this event, from the Deer District to the game itself - top shelf event. Only suggestion I would make to improve - I am a Blackhawks fan, but there were many Wild fans and neutral fans and I heard several complaining that all of the "Home Away From Home" merchandise did not include the Wild logo. Yes, this was a Blackhawks game but for a historic event like this, much more merch would have been sold if it included both logos.
