Chicago Blackhawks History
The Chicago Blackhawks were founded in 1926 and were part of the Original Six group of franchises, which constituted the NHL from 1942 until league expansion in 1967. The club won Stanley Cup Championships in the 1933-1934 and 1937-1938 seasons, but success proved largely elusive over the next two decades, except for one appearance in the final in 1943-1944. The 1960s signaled a rebirth for the franchise, with future Hall of Famers Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Pierre Pilote, and Glenn Hall leading the way. The Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings in the 1961 Stanley Cup Final, collecting their third championship.
The addition of eventual Hall of Fame goaltender Tony Esposito ahead of the 1969-1970 season marked the start of an era during which the team earned a Playoff berth in 28 consecutive seasons. In 1971 and 1973 the Blackhawks reached the Stanley Cup Final, losing both times to the Montreal Canadiens. More excellence followed in the 1990s, aided by the likes of Ed Belfour and Jeremy Roenick, as the Blackhawks finished with the league's best record in 1990-1991 and made the Stanley Cup Final in 1991-1992.
By selecting their eventual captain Jonathan Toews third overall in the 2006 NHL Draft, the Blackhawks began stocking up on young talent, also adding Patrick Kane first overall the following year. They returned to the Playoffs in 2008-2009, and in the very next season, Chicago defeated the Philadelphia Flyers for their first Stanley Cup Championship in 49 years. They added championships in 2013—beating the Boston Bruins in a thrilling series that included three overtime games—and 2015, topping the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

Chicago Blackhawks at United Center
Home to the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls, United Center(Opens in new tab)—which opened in 1994—is the largest NHL arena in the United States, with a capacity of 19,717 for hockey games. The idea for the arena was created in 1988 by William Wirtz, owner of the Chicago Blackhawks, and Jerry Reinsdorf, majority owner and Team Chairman of the Chicago Bulls. The United Center has hosted the Stanley Cup Finals three times: in 2010, 2013 and 2015. The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup Championship in 2015 against the Tampa Bay Lightning at home in the sixth game—the first time since 1938 that the franchise clinched the Cup in Chicago.

everything was good, except for the fact the Hawks couldn't score "ONE GOAL" and lost
Standing room views are decent but you have to fight to defend a spot to stand the entire game. Don't think about going to the bathroom until the game is over.
Great seats! I would definitely do it again! Even though the Hawks loss- I highly recommend!
Tight well played game with the Hawks tight defense and Corey Crawford saving the night. Finally a power play goal! The offense still is a work in progress if the Hawks want to make the playoffs this year.
well I will say this has been the best ever.. it was set up wonderfully so no one were able to cut in line. This made a LOT of people very happy.. we were going to give it one more try and if it was the same like it has been in the previous years-we were not going to come back.. They kept the lines moving---Awesome---Great job to everyone. Looking forward to next year..
Seats were awesome - game not so much - they lost!
I was in town for a convention and I took 3 fellow Canadians out to the game because Edmonton was in town to play the Hawks. We ended up in a row of fans that were cheering for Edmonton and it started a banter back and forth with the row behind us and in front of us. The home town fans were really great and fun to be around. The United Center was really well set up for people to get in and out of the concessions stands quickly and perhaps get a second beer before sitting back down to watch the period. The only complaint was the lineup for the stalls in the mens room. We sat in section 108 row 10 and the view of Connor McDavid's backhand pass to Maroon was incredible. It was one of the prettiest goals I have ever seen. The fact that Edmonton won in OT was not important. I am a Habs fan and the two clients I brought are Leafs fans, GAG! The rink was safe to walk around outside in the crowd, the cab price from downtown was reasonable and I would definitely have seasons tickets if I were living here. I would rate this as one of the best rinks in the NHL to see a game in.
The blackhawks game was fun! Sat up in the third section. Even though we were high up, it was still a great view and we were able to see all the action! It was an entertaining game and I’m looking forward to attending more
Fun evening, great experience enjoying a memorable event.
Blackhawks are awesome. Met a couple from Canada. Had a lot of fun.
Seats were great. But blackhawks weren't at their best. Can't win them all!
Blackhawks games and exciting and fun for the entire family! I highly recommend attending them.
1st Hawks game I've seen in the United Center couldn't have been a better experience! 10 goals! Nonstop action!
first time i have ever seen 10 goals in a game. still can't talk from singing chelsea dagger.
Best season opener ever! We get up close to the players during the pre-game walk-the-carpet, and then the Hawks blow out the defending Stanley Cup champions 10-1! One very memorable game.
This was my sons forst Blackhawks game live and He loved it!!!
fine time and great game they lost but stillworth watching
Best time ever! Thank you for an amazing evening!!
The UC has never looked better, but then again it should, as tiks prices and concessions are on auto-pilot to the moon. $6.50 for fries? Time for an organized fan ban, end of story.
Training camp was very disappointing. Even though we were 1 1/2 hours early, we had to sit in the 300 section. Most of the seats were saved for their friends or family. Literally rows and rows. I realize that they don't want their players injured but I did expect a little more excitement on the ice. The outside festival was listed as 11:00 to 4:00, however by 1:00 they had completely torn down the entire thing. I LOVE the Hawks, but I will not go to this event again.
