Chicago Blackhawks History
The Chicago Blackhawks were founded in 1926 and were part of the Original Six group of franchises, which constituted the NHL from 1942 until league expansion in 1967. The club won Stanley Cup Championships in the 1933-1934 and 1937-1938 seasons, but success proved largely elusive over the next two decades, except for one appearance in the final in 1943-1944. The 1960s signaled a rebirth for the franchise, with future Hall of Famers Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Pierre Pilote, and Glenn Hall leading the way. The Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings in the 1961 Stanley Cup Final, collecting their third championship.
The addition of eventual Hall of Fame goaltender Tony Esposito ahead of the 1969-1970 season marked the start of an era during which the team earned a Playoff berth in 28 consecutive seasons. In 1971 and 1973 the Blackhawks reached the Stanley Cup Final, losing both times to the Montreal Canadiens. More excellence followed in the 1990s, aided by the likes of Ed Belfour and Jeremy Roenick, as the Blackhawks finished with the league's best record in 1990-1991 and made the Stanley Cup Final in 1991-1992.
By selecting their eventual captain Jonathan Toews third overall in the 2006 NHL Draft, the Blackhawks began stocking up on young talent, also adding Patrick Kane first overall the following year. They returned to the Playoffs in 2008-2009, and in the very next season, Chicago defeated the Philadelphia Flyers for their first Stanley Cup Championship in 49 years. They added championships in 2013—beating the Boston Bruins in a thrilling series that included three overtime games—and 2015, topping the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

the United center is the best venue on the planet, the hockey game was fantastic
This venue is always energetic for a Hawks game. Be sure to get inside prior to the National Anthem. It gives me chills every time!
Fun event clean venue and very friendly staff to help along thr way
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Hawks Edmonton Oilers met me last Sunday
The Blackhawks did not disappoint. A fantastic day
Great venue and excellent game! The only trouble we encountered was that the men's bathrooms were very crowded during the breaks between the periods.
The Chicago Blackhawks continue to dwell in the dungeons as the Vegas Golden Knights kill them in a close battle.
Great value. Less quality. SRO at United Center is not anywhere as good as ballpark stadiums. At United Center it is on the top tier only. Worse part is this place tacked on a row of seats above the floor/aisle level, so it leaves SRO staring at the middle of someone's back. The other SRO sections are standing well above the heads and shoulders of seated fans, but...yes..but... this place puts two rows of folding portable seats behind the top row of seats, pushing the SRO back five to six feet into the aisle which cuts away the view of half the rink.
What a fun experience to watch a game with such passionate fans. We had a blast
Good hockey at the UC last night and Hawks win was nice. As usual, game was spoiled by the constant loud music played throughout the game and all through warm-up. I thought we were paying for an NHL game and not an AC/DC concert. In the 300s, you can't even talk to the person sitting next to you unless you shout. And it's time to get rid of the intermission "entertainment." How many times do we have to watch kids skating up and down the UC ice and around/over/through pylons? The game would be better if they took the time to clean and re-surface the ice early in the intermission so it wasn't so bad at the end of every period. Biggest joke is watching people sitting in $250 seats trying to trample each other going after a $2 t-shirt thrown into the stands. What losers.
It's always a great time at the UC. Pregame show rocks! Intermissions are okay.
The Hawks won... they should have taken an early lead against a weaker opponent such as the Coyotes. They need to get these pieces to gel a little better if they want to make a serious playoff run. Keep getting the W's!
Lucky enough to buy directly from TM but still very expensive however best seats I’ve ever sat in (and I’ve sat on the glass). Right behind Coach Q
Great game even dealing with 2 rude staff members.
Had a good experience, no issues picking out the seats. Overall great customer service.
section where we sat had a server which was ok if you place a order but was a real pain most of the time as they stood up serving whilst the puck was in play
Fun game to attend seeing the Blackhawks win and score 7 goals. Disappointed with the United Center, their food amenities are lacking - mediocre selection, no sit down restaurants (other than private ones for season ticket holders), and a serious lack of tables for sitting or even standing for us peons trying to eat before the game. I saw fans using the tops of the garbage cans to hold their drinks and food trays as they tried to grab a quick bite for dinner. Your best bet is to eat at an area restaurant before going into the United Center for any game or event.
I have been going to games for awhile and I cannot remember a time when staff at the United center as ever been as unfriendly or bothered by questions as they have the games I have been at this season. Really takes away from the experience. United center should consider when entertainment tax goes up who wants to pay more to be treated poorly.
First time to United center, amazing game but the standing section sucks, and I’m very tall but it was hard to watch the lower half of the rink
